You can play more classical than blues sounding licks, do tapping, and not even listen to Hendrix records, that will reduce your Hendrix influence from 95% to like 85%. b) It's still "rock" but lot of his rhythm work was rooted outside of rock obviously, and it's much less replicated (because much harder to replicate) than his full-on soloing. There's a lot more Malcolm Young than Hendrix in later rock playing.

Listening to Myxomatosis right now for fresh opinion, fat digitally altered bass, ok similar to Hysteria's tone but the fact they both start on a pedal down the fretboard in no way makes them a like no. You are retarded. Myxo's keeps going down and Hysteria stays in the 10-12 fret box mostly. Not to mention Hysteria is bass guitar with more crunch and drive and Myxo is synth so again, different and really don't sound a like except for like the first 5 notes.
And Matt Bellamy has written songs for movies big woop, he's too busy sticking with his band mates than go off writing songs and scores being some kind of rock sell out.

Radiohead (while great I love them don't get me wrong) were just alt/experimental that went off the deep end too many times and had some solid radio hits but remained this limbo bands of good and just weird.
