The one thing not being brought up that is one of the biggest factors in any war is mobility.
The USA has vastly more sophisticated technology and actual application wise in move mass amounts of troops and ordinance globally. The USA Airforce alone has double the operational aircraft that Russia has entirely. So add in the USMC, Navy, and Army's aircraft and you have a pretty big ass whooping. When you can show me that Russia can move more troops faster than the USA then you will have an argument until then all other points are moot.
