Actually this doesn't work. I've had a friend do it and we measured the temps. There is zero airflow over the components so it's only convection that pulls heat away. You need a ceiling fan for floor fan to actually use a system like that.

I recently went to a scrap yard to get myself some aluminium to melt in my furnace and came across a container with old computers. Took my screwdriver and salvaged any hard drives, CPUs and RAM that seemed fine. When checking out the guy told me he can't sell me anything that has data on it and I had to remove the RAM and CPUs (he didn't name it, he pointed on it). I told him no probs and went away with a dozen non-wiped hard drives, both private and business.

Whilst it is possible to get viruses on BIOS, it is very hard and would be quite pointless as all it would be able to do is block boot and a simple flash would fix everything
But it is not possible for RAM to get a virus becuase RAM loses everything stored on it when the computer turns of, this isnt BIOS or the OS telling it to delete, it is physicaly unable to retain data without power.
