Hey /b/ this is a bit different, sorry
18, m. I just got back from my doctors office. I have a malignant brain tumour, with a shitty survival rate even with chemo. I'm thinking about staying off treatment and dying naturally. It's better than gollumizing I'm my last few months.
I don't really know why I'm posting here. I think it's because I don't know who else to tell. What would you recommend me doing with my remaining time?
Pic related, it's me on my graduation road trip.
i say do it, whatever makes you happy, be free in your last living days/weeks/months
>>700404302
Whats your estimated expiry date, and how much money do you have?
>>700404463
I was given six months, and about 2k
>>700404302
well if I was you, I would try to fight that fucking tumor dude. Dont let yourself get defeated by that thing. Dont get me wrong, I have no idea what kind of repercussions a treatment could have but fuck man, you just want to throw everything away like that? Dont go down without a fight!
>>700404302
Hang in there anon/ (not actually anon since your pic is up but okay)
Curious: whats the cost of the treatment and what is actually the survive rate for your condition?
Either way don't go down without a fight m8
>>700404302
get all of the 90 essential nutrients. It works better than any treatment for most cancers. The body heals itself if it has the buildingblocks.
look up andreas moritz, and dr joel wallach.
you might very well be able to reverse it and make it go away.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzdiMBtOjwE
>>700405369
Treatment ups my survival rate a bit,(from basically 0 to about 20%) but I'm more likely to die quicker. Costs are beyond me or my family, hundreds of thousands.
>>700405503
Thank you, I'll look into it
>>700405901
Great. There's a lot of money to be made from cancer patients when they take conventional treatments. Not so much from taking nutrients. Why you don't hear so much about it.

90 essential fucking nutrients. fucking hell.
>the body heals itself
You know that cancer is literally parts(cells) of the body that refuse to die?
has to be bait. 4/10, made me reply
Ill smoke for you OP
>>700405840
that sucks...
the government should aid financially people in your situation
See how you feel in a few days after your emotions have ironed out a little.
Everything is your decision, nobody elses.
Regardless, I am so sorry OP.
>>700404302
Fight it, a friend of mine fought until his last breath.
Those 4 years i had with him, were the most intense i ever had with him.
Give it all you got!
What do you have from not trying to?
Not so much pain ?
Pain goes away, cherish every moment you breath.
Spend your last few months snorting coke and fucking whores, my dude. God speed.

cast out the demon of cancer and just go on with your life.
Ik 4chan aint all about Jesus but he fixes stuff in person still. Well, his dad does it technically but you feel me right? It worked for my bipolar, it was just a demon of madness from when I used to worship them and cheat on my fiance.
So yeah, good luck
>>700406491
Hes right...OP... And eat a lot of vitamine c... It s the only vitamine that you cannot overdose on FOR A REASON. Next gen cancer cure will bgased on high concentrated vitamin c.
>>700404302
>>700407001
It's not "some herbal shit" it's essential nutrients that your body needs to function..
this is fucking science. it has been tested through and through. look it up.
If you watch the videos I posted, you will know that most cancers are caused by congestion, lack of vitamin D i.e. sunlight and lack of sleep/darkness at night.
>>700404302
fight to the end. don't take no shit from no punk ass tumor

>>700407874
Hey man, just wondering what kind of autism you have?
50 yo guy here
IMO, if you were 40+ and had lived some life already,
I'd say yes, if you wanted to make the last of your remaining time then skip treatment.
But if you're only 18, you haven't even begun your life yet, and your body is at is strongest for healing itself.
You have to throw all your time and energy into surviving this, because you have so much to gain.
>>700404302
Go fight isis, do some good and save some poor christians from slaughter
>>700404302
OP if it were me, I'd choose a warrior's death, atleast then you have a chance to enter Valhalla
Juice bro, pure nutrition. Give your body some good fuel, it wont do any harm and it will make you feel better.
>>700407998

>>700407998
So much this. Lack of Vitamin D is a fucking serial killer
But... But.. you are so cute...
>>700404302
I'd recommend spending your time looking for any kind of ways for how to treat this. And I don't mean chemo therapy which would only fuck you up even more.
There's endless amounts of knowledge on the internet, most of it is free and not something a doctor would tell you about. So if you actually care about your life spend your time on that.
>>700408594
You better survive
>>700408128

And get plenty of vitamin D also. take it with calcium or it will not absorb in your system.
you can't get it all from sunlight. look into it. you cant even absorb most of the vitamin d as it is made of two components. I don't remember exactly you'll have to look into it. you won't regret it. Your body can stash vitamin d for months, so you can just take what is needed once a month
>>700408114
I wholly agree that I haven't seen what life has to offer yet. I'm just starting to fall in love with a long time friend too. I don't know how I'm going to tell her, or if I should. Sorry, I don't mean to gush, but I'm just really torn by the circumstances.
>>700408220
the MD's make big bucks on desperate people if they give them cancer treatment. and its not some herbal shit, it's molecules.. It doesn't treat cancer. its cures it.
>>700407998
Yeah, i'll be sure to check out that YouTube video and not any paper/study I've ever read.
Fuck me, are you saying not going outside causes cancer?
>pro tip, that's called a vitamin D deficiency
A congestion of what? A congestion of a lack of something?
>'look at all that traffic on that empty highway' - nobody
Cells have a built in end date. Some cells have abnormalities and do not 'die'. Your body is pretty good at catching these and nipping it in the bud.
Sometimes your body misses these cells, and cells have this awful habit of replicating themselves. So now there's two that wont die, now four, now eight, 16... etc etc.
What did you think a tumor was?
And why do so many sufferers of insomnia not have cancer?
How do people live in places like northern Norway, where its dark for 5 months at a time? Surely they'd all have cancer by now?
You are a fucking retard. You know nothing of medicine, yet spout your bullshit anti-advice to a dying man. If OP was going to opt for chemo, and you talked him out of it for your bullshit sage and lavender massages, you deserve to be indicted. Just as the chick who convinced that kid to kill himself did 6 months ago.
Its irresponsible. Its bullshit. And you, for even hinting at it as a viable, tested option, are utter human garbage.
Ive never meant this more....
Fucking kill yourself
>>700409451

>Costs are beyond me or my family, hundreds of thousands.
That's what insurance is for. And it covers pre-existing now. Thanks, Obama.
Treatment will at the very least but you time. Of there's a 20% chance, it's worth doing. My mom-in-law has a brain tumor that is so aggressive and rare (melanoma originating in the brain) that she was given a <5% chance to last 6 months. She's on 2.5 years now and doing ok. You never know, anon, and doctors don't know as much as they think they do. Get treatment unless it will completely fuck your life.

Doctors are paid to treat people. To make well again. Doctors use drugs made by businesses. Businesses that charge high prices, because drugs are expensive, not to manufacture, but to research, test, refine, idiot.

yes. you need sunlight or you will die. unless you have something that can produce the equivelant.
and if you dont get complete darkness at night, then certain chemicals are not produced which tells the cells that it is time for them to die. it is all natural.
How do people live in places like northern Norway?
they all take vitamins, if not they will die from related deseases.
it's not bullshit. There are lots of scientific studies on these things.

I know it's hard when you're 18. It's very hard to have foresight. You don't have the context of living yet. You have nothing to look back on, only your 18 years so far. But I promise you that those years 0-18 become SO small and insignificant as you get older. Life is truly a weird thing. Now I'll be honest, I'm only 21 and i already see this. 18 is like a strange dream, a million miles away. It meant nothing.
I know you probably want to bang girls and travel and such, and going out in tubes instead of doing that over the next few months doesn't seem worth it in your mind. You'd actually rather have several months of living instead of several months of fighting with a chance at survival. But if you're going to fight for this you NEED to do that. 18 means nothing, and you will regret it for eternity if you got lazy and slacked off the fighting. Again, not to sound insensitive.
Use the money to hire a hooker and tell her you have a brain tumor, try to find a good hearted one too. Maybe she'll give you an extra few free fucks. (She'll have to be independent for this). You're 18, lot of hookers i think would understand. Do this over the course of the next week and then start fighting. OR, tell that close friend what's happening to you, and with the right conversation I guarantee that will be an easy lay. No desperation. Just present the facts of your situation and how you'd like to see her naked before you go.
Then once you get that out of your system in a week, fight. A lifetime is not worth giving up for horniness or the "fun" an 18 year old can have. If you survive you can do it when you're 19 or 20!

So, if chemo 'sometimes' works, and the global medical conspiracy group llc, doesnt want to cure cancer... why are they selling chemo drugs?
And why aren't these nutrients so valuable if they have these miraculuos properties thatll stop cancer, period. Surely someone wouldve tested it, written a paper, get it published (it is the literal cure for cancer after all), or could it be, just maybe, on the off chance, are you talking out your ass?

Dude, you see what happens to the whistleblowers? That shit takes BALLS. Chances are companies that make BILLIONS of dollars treating -note, TREATING- things like cancer and AIDS won't let those whistleblowers ever even blow. One way or another. This entire world is RIFE with corruption and greed, dude, like I say, believe your fairytales and all the big pharma guys are good guys and no ones being paid to come up with results that are wanted.
Remember that smug Shkreli fuck or whatever his name was that jacked up the price on that aids drug? Yeah, hes the tip of the iceberg, he got caught and dealt with because he opened his fat smug mouth and gloated to everyone. I'd put down my insignificant pittance that that kinda shit happens everywhere.
Money rules in this world, dude, not human lives. Why are there 3rd world shitholes when half the American defense budget could end world poverty forever? Because Boeing and Lockheed Martin CEOs want their fat paycheck. Greed rules, get that idea in your head. Big pharmas money is worth more than lives, to big pharma. I wouldn't trust chemo jack shit even if it didnt obviously destroy people.
We can clone animals but we can't develop a drug that shuts down malignant cell growth in people? Yeah. Fuckin. Right. We can only manage to make expensive, prolonged "treatments" that happen to pour money into the pockets of huge conglomerates. Huh, fancy that.
Call me cynical, talk about tinfoil hats, conspiracies, whatever you want man. Or you can open your fuckin eyes and see that humans are fucking shit to each other and driven literally insane by greed.

Well, that's my thoughts. Hell, they might even HAVE cures. Maybe they just milk poor people like they do with taxes, and only the lucky few .001% of world population has access to the cure, the people who money means nothing to anyway. To them its just business... They are profiting off sick people. This is what the pharmaceutics industry is. Even if it doesn't come directly from people's pockets, they are paid or at least subsidized by the governments, which, surprise, comes from tax money.
And yeah, a cure for cancer would mean they could only sell it to each person once, and there goes any future business down the drain.

>>700419359
Yeah. Get your point. A very old point btw. This "could" be true. First, there is no flat out cure for all cancers. Cancer isn't just one "illness".
Very difficult and complex to treat. My line of thinking is along the lines of there will be powerful vaccines that will be developed to prevent from getting certain cancers, but the problem will be, they will be very, very expensive. So, only available to the super rich.
Hence the moral/ethical dilemma. Maybe those vaccines will not be made available to the "general public" until the price can be drastically lowered. The fact that there will not be "simply" one big cure for cancer will prevent the corruption from occurring.

That's the dumbest bullshit I've ever heard. Cancer isn't just some disease that gets cured by adding nutrients to a cake batter.
Cancer cells are already damaged beyond repair and replicate endlessly. The only way to stop cancer is to kill every single damaged cancer cell. The added nutrients to your diet will only help fuel the cancer.
Don't believe in some miracle shit, OP.
Good luck and godspeed OP and don't forget all of your
>90 essential nutrients
>>700422353
Don't tell me you can't see the difference between selling food and selling sketchy medicine.
I find it very, very hard to believe that we cannot find a cure for cancer in this day and age. We have advanced so far technologically and scientifically over the last few decades, unfortunately, morals haven't tagged along. Greed is holding people back.
How is it any different to a grocery store? Your grocery store = your GP, yes, that guy is trained to treat minor illnesses. Your grocery store is trained to treat "minor hungers" lets say.
Then theres big pharma, who are finding ways to milk you at any moral cost, for their long term profit. This is equivalent to Monsanto and the like, finding ways to mass produce food, for profit, regardless of whether or not its the best possible food for you.
Yes, this is business to these people, but the issue (in my theory) is that their search for profit is held above the welfare of most of the human race.
Another probably more farfetched possibility is the new world order theory, of population control etc. In which case the heay profits would just be a pleasant side effect for the big powers that be.
But I believe its pure greed. I refuse to believe our scientists of today cannot find a cure to cancer. I believe it is supressed, for profit.
>>700423357
not true.
If the immunesystem is optimal, it kills the cancer by itself. this is proven.

By that logic, the companies wouldn't produce vaccines because treating the illness is more lucrative. But...they do. I think the human body is an amazing thing. I believe we probably don't utilize its healing potential fully (its a pretty well known fact we only use a small portion of our brains), and that also we probably harm, or don't fully develop its self-healing potential with artificial medicines, vaccinations etc, especially when we are young.
I mean, a lot of this thread sounds like hippy/conspiracist bullshit even to me as I type it, but just realize that the world is not as its presented to us, and also that we know so little about ourselves and our potential, even as we discover more and more.
Why can people given fuck all chance to live past a few months be alive and better than before, years later?
How can people told they will never walk again be walking within months?

>>700423357
Not eating well is the worst option. The cancer will take what it needs to grow, regardless, if it is malignant. You are only starving your healthy cells further by not eating well.
Do believe in some miracle shit, OP, but believe in a miracle from within, not some wonder food.
Although I'm sure there are things that help! Turmeric, and Paprika spices, I hear are good. No personal experience, just some things to add to your list of things to look into if you want to!
Fuck up some corrupt politicians and become a legend.
>>700424301
Lol it doesn't matter if you eat well or not so long as you receive no medical treatment. Either way the cancer will grow and metastasize (consuming nutrients), or will divert blood flow to the mass of cancer cells (consuming nutrients), or both.
To further clarify, I would eat well and be healthy at the most optimum level I could be while dealing with cancer, but realistically that cancer is only going away with surgery or chemotherapy.
>>700424062
Well, 1. Vaccines themselves are lucrative to sell to a government. And 2... Vaccines are a whole different kettle of fish, theres plenty of controversy surrounding them, too. I had mumps, when I was younger. I had whooping cough, although I think it was pretty mild. Chicken pox. All vaccinateable, none were (I was later vaccinated for Measles/Mumps/Rubella, that was the only vaccine I had, and it was after I'd had the mumps). All of them my body dealt with only good, simple food and my father's care.
>>700423881
Your body kills at least ten cancer cells every day, so yes the body does have defense mechanisms against cancer. In fact, it has A LOT.
But when a tumor has formed, or when you see a very ugly mole on the side of your head that shouldn't be there, the cancer has won the initial fight over the immune system and the body's internal safeguards against the cancer.
At this point, medical intervention is needed or the cancer will eventually kill you.

Maybe, once it gets to a certain size. How many cancers does our body deal with before they reach a harmful mass, and could it, potentially, be able to deal with even larger tumors if we had stronger immune systems? Or even just focused all our energy and concentration into destroying the cancer?
Who's to say everyone doesn't contract "cancer", but some people's bodies can stop malignant cell growth in its tracks?
Obviously, in OP's case, there are problems, and yes, hes probably going to need some kind of treatment. From what I gather cancer treatments are usually an attempt to cut out as much of it as possible, and "try to zap the rest".. This is where my suspicion that they could be milking it comes in. This. First, get double check, not the first time cancer was diagnosed when there wasn't. Regarding survival - not the first time doctors were wrong. Last check immune therapy status of your cancer. Immune therapy is the latest development that has extraodinary good results. It works somehow like this: They extract some cancer cells then create something similar to a vaccine so your body is able build antibodies. It's still in case study phase but a lot of people think this will become the new standard of cancer treatment.

It's not necessarily about how many. Cancer occurs when cell DNA is mutated enough to cause endless cell replication, so for each type of cell in the body there is a cancer for it. If you get sun burned all the time, those skin cells are much more likely to become cancer.
The problem is, at some point those cancer cells get lucky and survive long enough to develop mechanisms to avoid the immune system. At this point, there is no immune system strong enough to fight the cancer because it as already become too strong.
Think of it as evolutionary "survival of the fittest" but on a cellular level. The cells that develop cancerous traits are more likely to survive beating out other normal cells, and as a result, divide and grow. Eventually, they become cancer.

All this conspiracy bullshit pisses me off. Cancer has an impact on so many peoples lives and to assume there is a cure hidden away is absurd.
To assume that all people that are looking into cures for cancer could be bought so easily is insulting, I'm guessing a lot of the researchers trying so hard to find a cure have been directly impacted by cancer themselves in some way.

I'm not going to watch a video by some quack. There's an overwhelming amount of peer-reviewed research that will contradict what you just said. Cite some actual research done on the topic by real scientists, or go live in a hippy commune.
Cells become cancerous because of mutations caused by DNA damage, either due to direct damage from carcinogens, ionizing radiation, or defects during DNA synthesis when cells divide.
If you have no concept of how any of it works, you really should just shut up.

For those of you interested and want to learn actual science regarding cancer, I encourage you to look up these things called the hallmarks of cancer that talk about the different things that cause cancer. From Hanahan and Weinberg:
1. Self-sufficiency in growth signals -"accelerator pedal stuck on"
2. Insensitivity to anti-growth signals -"brakes don't work"
3. Evading apoptosis -"won't die when the body normally would kill the defective cell"
4. Limitless replicative potential -"infinite generations of descendants"
5. Sustained angiogenesis -"telling the body to give it a blood supply"
6. Tissue invasion and metastasis -"migrating and spreading to other organs and tissues"

>>700430148
I haven't seen any studies showing correlation between stress and cancer. But excessive stress does cause all kinds of issues with your body, so it's not a far stretch to assume that stress leading to a weakened immune response could lead to a higher chance of developing cancer.
>>700429753
ok. but it doesn't matter wether we call them essential or necessary or whatever. the 6 you die without. and the 90 (which includes the six) your body cant produce. right?
>>700430148
Stress makes the immune system work extra hard, so after the stress is gone the immune system is weakened. This is why it is easier to get sick when you are experiencing stress.
One of the roles of the immune system is to identify cells that are pre-cancerous and kill them. About 10 of these cells are killed daily. With a bunch of added stress, the immune system then might not be able to perform optimally, allowing the small chance of cancer to develop. Of course, we dont get cancer every time we stay up late or worry about our future, but it does increase the chance over time.
The chance is very small, so don't stress out about it.
>>700415251
You really need to go talk to a better oncologist. If they haven't sequenced your tumors yet, ask them to do it. Insurance will cry about it but they'll have to deal with it. A brain biopsy can be hard, but you're kind of shit out of luck since cell-free tumor DNA is still pretty damn hard to capture from liquid biopsies.
That being said, if you've had skin cancer and you now have brain cancer, there's a good chance that either:
a) The previous tumors you had metastasized in your brain, since cancer cells can migrate;
or
b) You suffer from mismatch repair deficiency which is resulting in a higher than normal rate of mutations.
If it's case 1), they could sequence your prior tumors and find medication accordingly. If it's case 2) and you're actually mismatch repair deficient, immunotherapy has a high chance of working well on you.
But, don't just roll over and take it. Get treatment at a reputable cancer center.

I respect what you are saying. Maybe some of my own doubts stem from bitterness at losing my own mother to breast cancer at age 4, before I knew her, before she had much more than a basic biological impact on my life.
I still have my doubts, but as with any new perspective, it influences my own.

I can see that, and while I'm sure there's some greedy bastards with no morals who only care about the bottom line/$$$, cancer research is one of the fields where most of the researchers have personal investments. Most of us have lost family or friends to it so it's not being treated like a cash cow by any means.

Yes please do this. It isn't over until it's over. You can go out on your own terms if you'd like, but give the good fight some consideration.
Fight hard and get treatment /b/ro! Pulling for you...

I haven't had my tumor sequenced, and I trust you that it will help, but I'm curious what will it do?
If youre gonna fight it fine, you know what you gotta do. If youre serious about not wanting to spend all that time sick as shit and just go out with a bang, do this.
Start signing up for credit cards, literally as many as possible. Find somewhere cool youve always wanted to go. Say your goodbyes and then max the shit out of those cards. Take out as much cash advances as you can and just live as hard and decadent as possible. When the time comes your probably gonna want to off yourself, so have a plan ready for when the pain becomes too much. Gun, pills, or some crazy plunge off the highest point. Not only do you get to go out like a baller, but you fucked several credit card companies as well. Guaranteed sainthood.

The massively over-simplified version is that it'll show what mutations you have in your DNA. Based on the mutations, there's specific medication that will work better. A lot of the medication is designed to target specific mutations (or families of mutations), so they can't just give them to you without knowing what driver mutations you might have since it would be pointless. By sequencing the tumors, they can identify which mutations you do have and target them precisely.
I'm not sure if you already answered it somewhere earlier in the thread, but what kind of tumor is is? Astrocytoma? Glioblastoma?
Oldfag here op. Fight . seen many go thru and results vary. If you go in hospice towards the end they give you morphine, i mean they leave vials of it at your house. Can always anhero with that as a last resort. You have lits to live for so fight

Assuming they had a cure they are not of enough importence to recieve the cure. Their family isnt either this proves nothing.

>dying naturally
Fuck you, do the treatment. Dying is shitty no matter how "natural" it is. Prolong your life as much as you can no matter what. You owe it to your family, friends and yourself. Do not go quietly, and so on and so forth.

=l~>=HERE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO<~l=
>find the cheapest plane tickets you can, maybe borrow some dough from family/friends, start a go fund me or some shit
>travel to every place you've ever wanted to see
>fuck as many girls as you can without a condom\
>try all the drugs
>when you're getting close to death, wingsuit fly off mount everest or some shit or jump off the tallest building you can get to the roof of

This is just an off-the-wall guess, but BRAF mutations (specifically V600E) are known driver mutations in skin cancer, and also in gliomas. If you had melanoma and it metastasized in your brain, there's a decent chance you could have the same mutation in your brain tumor.
The good news is that there are several drugs that specifically target that mutation and work relatively well. Chemo is still chemo, and it doesn't work 100% of the time, but it really isn't necessarily game over for you either.
