The earth is so obviously flat that it's painful to explain to people brainwashed in school. If the earth was curved, sea creatures would swim to the surface when they tried to go strait.

The Greeks knew the earth was spherical. In fact I believe a Greek was the first to measure directly measure the radius (or circumference). Eratosthenes used shadows in Alexandria. Fuck off with "hundreds of years old." The Greeks predate Jesus.

All doctored by the time they reach the public. In real life you can't see a curve, even in a plane. What some people mistake as a "curvature" is actually light being distorted in the atmosphere anon.

Because there are mountains in the way, the region is home to some of the highest concentrations of mountains on earth, which also explains why there is so much atmospheric distortion there specifically.

why is sunrise and sunset at different times in the time zones.

Sun should rise over the edge in the east and light will hit all the earth at the same time. ok, the sun will be overhead at different times (so different noons) but then set when it gets to the west edge - so eastern places have short mornings and long afternoons, western have short evenings with long mornings.

and there is no way to account for northern and southern 24hr days in summer and dark all winter. and of course the variation in day length through the year and the variation in angle of the sun on different days at noon time.

or the different altitude and hour angle variations for star gazing for all the stars in the heavens.

or the angle of the sun at noon as opposed to a set time which allows us to calculate longitude (which I have done using a sextant in various places, just for fun,)

so basically, your flat earth theory need a lot of backup and a lot better than "light distortions" or bullshit about magnetism.
The crap about the light being dim because it has longer to travel through the atmosphere is laughable. You need a whole different set of physical laws to allow that.
Basically, why don’t you stop this silly trolling.

This can all be explained easily by atmospheric distortion. When the sun gets close, it burns all the flammable molecules nearby, creating heat and light that we call daytime. When the sun goes away, the light has to travel farther through the atmosphere, so there is not much left by the time it gets to you. That's why it looks dark at night.
The moon's shadow is caused by the sun being behind the moon (relatively speaking) on its path around the earth. You just can't see it because of this very same atmospheric distortion.

when galaxies, stars and planets are forming from dust/debris they start to spin as they collapse in on themselves. this causes centrifugal forces to pull outwards against the force of gravity but this force does not affect the "top" and "bottom" of these objects, this means that they can collect together into the centre. when all of the debris collects together it creates an Oblate Spheroid, not a perfect sphere but close enough to be considered spherical. sometimes the centrifugal force is equal to, or greater than, the gravity opposing it either holding the debris in an orbit where they can create solar systems/planets or the debris will be flung out into darkness space.

The idea that everything you were taught about maths, science and physics could all be wrong.

The idea that a Government employee must sit down and translate all the forumlas and theories that "normies" come up with into a system that works on the "true flat earth" model.

Of course.

Our all mighty lord and savior makes the days and nights just right for us here in the good ol heartland of the Midwest, while he punishes those degenerate Eskimos in the north pole. >>699926640
It's really big and really far away. The distance doesn't vary much in the big scheme of things, it's the sun's position in the sky. Imagine you're holding a lantern underwater, the light and heat travel a short distance but runs out of energy after a while. That's like the sun in the atmosphere, when it's close you can see it and when it's far away the elliptical atmospheric lens effect makes it look like you can't see the sun even though it doesn't just disappear.

Atmospheric distortions
>>
>>699926375
The debris settles into flat objects pressed together by magnetism. They only look round through our atmosphere because of distortion. Have you ever seen a planet being formed? No because that's not how it works. You can't even see it happen because it takes millions of years, so don't tell me you know how it works. Only the flat earth theory can explain why the dust doesn't get everywhere. It's because it's all settled down on the surface.
>>
>>699929133
>the star would die before you would see it
in a lot of stars this is the case but the light is still travelling towards you, by that logic if a man threw a ball at you, then, was hit by a truck, the ball wouldnt get to you because there wouldnt be anyone to throw the ball (i hope this helped you understand). as for the "atmospheric distortion" that would mean the stars would travel from one side of the sky to another, never to be seen again. how would you explain the same constellations in the sky every night?

In your scenario the ball would just hit the truck as there is no way you could throw a ball past a giant truck right on top of you. If the light had to travel millions of space years then it wouldn't have enough energy to permeate the atmospheric distortion anyway.

Stars don't move, just the sun and moon. That's why constellations look the same. They only appear to bend because of the atmosphere.

Well, the sun is constantly shining up there (no cloud cover that high above the surface plane) that the solar paddles are constantly getting sunlight to recharge the motors, and being closer to the sun, the quality of the light is better which means they recharge faster.

Hilariously, they do actually have to keep reboosting it's altitude every now and then. It's orbit is low enough that the very very tenuous atmosphere that is there is still enough to slow it down. Not really relevant to what you were asking but its a neat fact, here's a couple more:

When the Shuttle was still in service it was even lower than now as well due to how shit the Shuttle was, so they had to do it more often.

The solar panels are so big they sometimes turn them side on to minimise the drag they cause.
>>
>>699929994
The ball would just hit the truck if it hit the guy before the ball hit the ground. No one can throw that fast. Think of the truck in your example as the atmospheric distortion. Now you're getting it.

Satellites stay up by traveling in circlies high above the surface. Their momentum keeps them up there.
A lunar eclipse is caused by the moon's own shadow blocking it out. You can recreate this natural phenomenon by holding an apple up to your face and shining a lighr behind it. See how it causes the other side to be dark in your perspective? That's how it works.

Here is your chance flat earthists, explain atmospheric distortion.

if it is refraction, that would make things look like they are in the wrong place, not make them round

if it was magnification, that would make the apparent size different, not make it look round

if it was minerals in the air reflecting light, that would kill you as both silicates and metalic particles/fumes are toxic and you wouldnt be able to see the sky

So, flat earthists, explain how "atmospheric distortion" works to make things look round and upside down and bigger and smaller and brighter and darker, all, at, once.

Why would they bother to do that though, if true?

Have you ever played with magnets? There is always a north and south magnetic pole in pairs. That's because he electrons emitted by one end have to condense somewhere to complete a loop.

Hey fuckhead, your spamming isn't clever, nor is it funny.

This thread has some actual discussion going on. It's not just another fluffy abuse or trap thead.

Because the mountains trap the atmosphere molecules like water in an above ground pool so they can only go down. They are held together by magnetism, troll harder with your gravity shilling round earth theorist.

in case you havent noticed, neither air or water is magnetic and for metals to be magnetic they need to be in large enough molecules to have there atoms arranged in lines
>>
>>699942575

Maybe so, but at least it isn't just a bunch of over used memes or tranny photos being posted.

Spamming the threads with any actual discussion and discourse until they 404 is a race to the bottom for the entire community.
