What do you think about Trump's economic policy about lowering taxes for everybody and doing away with unnecessary bullshit government programs?
>>
It's standard boring republican talking points. But i don't believe anything he says because he doesn't believe anything he says.
>>
>>699010056
If there's anything he knows anything about its money. I would listen to him
>>
>>699010174

Hey come on. I gave a serious answer to an obvious troll thread. That doesn't even buy me a funny response?
>>
Not. Going. To. Work.
>>
>>699010336
I was hoping to have a serious discussion about it with anons, the economy is as important as everything else
>>
>>699009896
>le big govmint is bayed may may

>>
>>699010468

Well, continuing to answer seriously, his non-economic statements and positions are so dangerous that it really doesn't matter what his economic positions are, or even whether they make sense/would actually help.

The man poses a serious risk of using nukes as offensive weapons, or making america take military actions which would cause it to be recognized as a terrorist state.

It's just... disqualifying. Literally anyone else would be better than him. I am a strong libtard here, just letting you know, and i would choose ted cruz over trump. I think that guy is a theocrat, but no matter what fucked up shit he would do, he wouldn't pose the existential threat trump does.
>>
>>699009896
I think it will help some (like Trump for instance) a hell of a lot more than it will help those with less.
>>
>The Trump plan offers tax savings at all income levels, with huge savings at the highest income levels resulting from the reduction in the top rate from 39.6% to 25%. And while all those negative numbers in the Trump column sure look appealing, try to keep in mind that in order for them to become a reality, we’re either going to have to cut spending (Fun Fact: We wont!), put another $12 trillion on the country credit card, or go deeper in debt to China.

from a few days ago, it's actually a pretty good assessment of both plans. hillary's looks equally shitty

http://www.forbes.com/sites/anthonynitti/2016/06/08/its-clinton-versus-trump-a-comparison-of-the-final-two-tax-plans/
>>
>>699009896
i think he's full of shit. he just said today that he thinks it's a good idea to increase the debt by a few trillion.

the latest major flip flop

who the fuck knows what he's going to do.

plus he wants to go after porn. fuck him.
>>
>>699011730
But isnt it the middle class we are worried about right now?
>>
>>699013135
see, here's the thing. nothing has gotten worse, it's just shifted. trump is right in some ways it's harder to start a business where you choose what's produced.

it has shifted somewhat with the internet and the new distribution methods. now people are creating and distributing their stuff directly. like apps. there's no need for a huge software firm to be gatekepper anymore.

but if you think about it for a moment, this is actually really good news. it's a crack in the corporate stranglehold. it allows individuals to get stuff out that a market values.

it's only just starting.

trump is against this because he's for corporations.

so when he talks about bringing jobs back, he wants to reverse this trend.
>>
>>699012791
>he just said today that he thinks it's a good idea to increase the debt by a few trillion.

It's the only way his tax plan can work. "Why not just let our children pay the bills in 10 years" is not a plan. Last time it was Iraq, but it's the same financial hole we're still trying to dig ourselves out of today.
>>
>>699013502
>>699013135
we see it now in software, books, music, movies, tv, radio (podcasts) and even (at a basic level right now) manufacturing in the form of 3D printing.

this last one is only beginning. in 10 years manufacturing won't even look the same.
>>
>>699013502
Not necessarily. Alot of americans do not have access to the tools or have the knowledge to do this type of work, these americans will be left behind. These are hard working americans that just want a job and to support their families. The middle class is dying because we have been bleeding them dry. Your middle class is the bread and butter because there is alot of them. Im not saying to close off internet entrepreneurs, im saying let us build a stronger middle class by emabling all people to get the jobs that can allow this.
I dont feel trump wants to stifle the entrepreneur.
>>
>>699010932
You do realize how misrepresented Trump is by the media, right?
>>
>>699009896
better than hillary's plan to raise middle and lower-middle class taxes
>>
>>699014009
we need to move forward, always. not get mired in some shitty past because some people "will be left behind"

instead we need education and training to move them forward too. that's where we should be focusing.

there will always be jobs anyway, there just won't be corporate gatekeepers any more and that's a good thing.
>>
>>699013932
But the average american is not creative enough or strong willed enough to do these work you are purposing.
>>
>>699014057
yeah, i do, not at all. they simply print what he says

like the 2nd ammendment call for revolution. if he meant by voting why did he immediately say "and that would be a terrible day" right after he said it.

yeah the media does not call him out enough in fact. they're treating him with silk gloves and it has to stop.
>>
>>699014187
then you'll work for someone who is. it just won't be massive corporate overlord any more. it will be smaller companies, like in the old pre-industrial days with the bazaars and shit.

there will always still be some mass production, just not as much as it used to be.
>>
>>699014186
I am not saying to move backwards or stop progress m8. Im not saying that. We are in a transition period right now, possibly a new Renaissance. We need to be able to allow people that want to work and who are too old or too dumb to recieve the training to be able to still find a job that they can do and be in the middle class. I understand your point, but we cant just drop everything, that would be catastrophic.
>>
>>699009896
doesn't matter
campaign promises don't magically become policy with an election win.

trump will see none of his "palns" realized, bc the president is not a king and governement does not work that way.
>>
>>699014338
The media picks and chooses what they want to use from his speeches/press conferences. But even so, saying a few things that invade people's sense of comfort and being the deeply corrupt politician that Hillary is are two totally different things.
>>
>>699009896
it's all lies
>>
>>699014505
it's a slow change that's happening now. there will be some rough patches.

trump wants to reverse it, that's the problem.
>>
>>699014476
Dude. If you think corporations will disappear youre delusional. They have the capital, they will absorb the smaller businesses this will always happen.
>>
>>699014057

However true that might be, he cannot misrepresent himself. These things that i have stated are based on things he has said, observed in full - watched, not listen to, with no editing.

He has said that he wants to take out the families of terrorists. Doing that is a war crime and would make america a terrorist nation.

He has asked repeatedly why we have nuclear weapons if we don't use them. And if we did use them before someone else did - even assuming we didn't strike another nuclear power, it would alter the rules of engagement for nuclear weapons among all countries everywhere, and might potentially upset the balance of power in that vein and bring back the real serious threat of nuclear war.

You have to understand. There are no checks on the presidents authority to use nuclear weapons. He can literally do anything we wants with them, and nothing can stop him. That is not hyperbole, it's the way the system was designed.
>>
>>699014558

>>

I think that he is trying to lower Americas standard of living to the quality of of mexicos so we can compete with them as producers.
His tax plan is throwing a bone to the working class and feeding the elites filet mignon, even though the working class raised the cow.
It's all half baked, all of his policy's are retarded like this.

>>
>>699014676
that's fine. it's the gatekeeper that people like trump want to bring back. they wnat massive corproations that choose what to publish, what movies to make, what to produce. if you get big enough and then swallowed up, if you allow that, that's a part of life. always has been.
>>
>>699014057
If the guy wasn't putting his foot in his mouth every single day I would agree with you. But he is. The media isn't telling him to say retarded shit, he's doing that all on his own and everyone can see it clearly with their own two eyes. Long time Republican officials dating back to the Reagan era are withdrawing their endorsements. These aren't people prone to giving a single fuck what the media says - yet they are jumping ship too. There is more to it than "omfg media bias conspiracy!". It's obvious that the guy is a nutball, even to hardcore veteran republicans.

>>699015140
it's already not happening in books, tv, movies, music and small scale (for now) production. you put whatever you creat up there - like on etsy. you write something and if it sells it sells, amazon and shit. the corporate gatekeepers see a bleak future and they should.
>>
We can't all afford to avoid taxes, Don.

>>
>>699015007
Like? How does a billionaire sacrifice anything by getting something made and getting people hired. He inherited all his money after his dad died, and could of literally been richer if he just put the money in a bank and waited.
>>
>>699015363
He ended up making pretty good money from running his shit, it's probably higher than most people would. The last thing I'm trying to do is defend him, but he was okay with making money given how much he started with.
>>
>>699015314
>amazon
>not a gatekeeper
Jesus dude, seriously sober up and we will talk. You are blind to what is really happening, the gatekeepers no longer restrict access because they know restricting doesnt work, what works is flooding the market. Useless information drowns out useful information thus making the populace even dumber. Also i love how you think america can support an entertainment economy.
>hurr we already do
No. Just because one of our larger exports is cultural doesnt mean we are in an entertainment economy.

Compared to what.

Firing missiles at Russian planes in Syria? Actively arming terrorists with U.S. vehicles and equipment? Blaming Saudi Arabia for 9/11?

Do you have any idea how hard your government's been trying to end the world these last 4 years?

Do you even realize how close the U.S. was to total economic collapse in 2009? There wasn't enough cash in the ATMs. Process that for a second. They ran out of paper currency. And the prints have been running full steam ever since. You ever look at the dates on your bills lately?

things that are going away: gatekeepers, brick and mortar stores, warehouses of product, even massive stores like walmart will see a hit. when you can make a toy immediately and you're just paying for the blueprint, so to speak, and people can "release" a toy immediately with little or no R&D. it's a massive whack

the good news is all of those people used to make money, all the middlemen all the decision makers, the golden parachute CEO's in publishing, the store owners.

all that money will now go directly to creators. some of it will mean decreased price. but must of it will go directly to the creators from the consumers.

Clinton may be a scandal-ridden politician, but at least she's not an idiot. She'll do fine due to her experience, political expertise, and connections.
But the American people need to realize
A. Corporate/Union campaign donations are equivalent to corruption. Bypass the First Amendment here.
B. Regulatory agencies are in bed with business to keep barriers for entry high.
C. Banks are still speculating in the Subprime market.
D. Global free trade helps everybody.

Motherfucker im not talking about a global conspiracy, im talkinh about the very real telecomm companies, ya know the ones who allow you access to the internet. They control it. They can control the traffic. Sure the fcc had a big win with met neutrality, but the fact remains companies and corporations wont be going anywhere, you have your sites where you sell your blueprints, telecomm companies, web domains, search engines, etc. If you think the gatekeepers and corporations will be going anywhere, you are not seeing the picture clearly.
>>
>>699016771
no there will be as many designers as there are now except they won't have to vie for jobs at corporations. they'll do it themselves and it will better, probably, than most corporate made stuff. they won't need to be out of work because a corporation has enough of them.

>>
>>699016567

You said "Firing missiles at Russian planes in Syria?"

Those were conventional missiles, not nuclear missiles.

All of the countries with nukes have a no first-strike policy.

If we went to war with any of them, we would have a conventional war. Not a nuclear war.

Trump wants to change the no first-strike policy. That would alter the rules for the entire world. Suddenly every nation would be at risk of being nuked, nuclear or not, without striking first. And we would be back to the tensions we had during the cold war, except now it's 9 nations that could pull the trigger.

This is correct.

And, to my knowledge, the only country with nuclear capable ICBMs assaulting the ally of another country with nuclear capable ICBMs in an oversea, offensive war, by way of hiring mercenaries and using third parties to distribute vehicles and equipment to groups listed as terrorists by the nation distributing said vehicles and equipment is the U.S.

This is hot. We are, and HAVE BEEN on the brink of nuclear catastrophe. The U.S. military is pushing to annihilate everything. They are fucking insane. This has been the situation for so long, that people like you have become accustomed to it.

This shit is not normal. The U.S. military is holding the god damned world hostage, because they alone are fanning the flames of war in a potentially nuclear situation.

Any candidate who seeks to destabilize the overseas wars the U.S. military has been waging is mandatory. I thought that was Bernie, but whatever. Trump will do.

If you're not voting for a candidate you believe will put an end to the U.S. military endangering the entire fucking planet, then you're either suicidal (possible) or not thinking clearly about what it means to live in a world that is rigged to blow up. Really, think about that. There are buttons on this planet, which if pushed, would blow it up.

What. The actual fuck is any of our lives, in the face of that?

We're already in a trade war. All Trump is doing is advocating the use of the America's ability to walk away from the table, the first rule of negotiation.
>Increase the deficit by an INSANE amount through military, infrastructure (wall), and tax cuts
Yea, while cutting uneeded regulation, taking away restrictions on U.S energy production, closing loopholes, cutting corporate tax to bring more wealth into the U.S ect. As if the debt is going to get any better under Clinton anyway

And they not only stole the vote, but did so in a way that left evidence of their vote rigging. So, instead, you get the option where Hillary is somehow removed from the election for alternate reasons and we have the hilarity which would be a Bernie vs. Donald debate.

Or else Hillary's constituents rig the general election, or else Trump wins, when embittered blues vote third party / cross over. And then maybe civil war ensues in either of those two options.

Obama had his chance to actually get what he wanted done the first two years when the Dems still had the house. And he squandered it, doing nothing.

Realistically though, the U.S. might have ended in 2009. It was a close thing. Have you tried withdrawing all your cash out of your bank account lately? Protip: you can't.

Except this time shits gonna happen. Scalia's dead, which means a constant Liberal justice majority if Clinton gets elected.

We're in a trade war? How so? Fucking NAFTA? The American people like to buy foreign products. You want to raise the prices on them just because of >muh manufacturing jobs?
The central goal of trade deals is lowering tariffs. Mexico lost a lot of their agricultural sector to us. We lost a lot of our manufacturing sector to them.

See >>699012030
Hillary incurs a net positive effect on the deficit. Trump's bat shit insane budget does the opposite. He hasn't even said what regulatory agencies he'd cut, to my knowledge.

Obamacare lays some really necessary groundwork for serious reform, though. It removes pre-existing conditions, expanded Medicare, and creates an individual mandate (reducing defaults on medical expenses). IndivMandate was a Nixon Republican idea, btw.

Clear but Differentiated Responsibility. China has a greater population and is still industrializing. We have industrialized. they should bear some restrictions, but not as many until they have fully industrialized.

How did you never hear the birther shit?

Yeah, I'd say a democratic Western country advocating to kill the families of "terrorists" is MUCH worse than the current instability.

Funny you should mention that, I'm about to get close to that today. I've cut 3 checks for $30k over the last 3 months (building a house). Checking is now down to $29k and I'm about to cut another check for $20k before I replenish it from another account. There'll still be $9k in there but now I'm curious...

>The central goal of trade deals is lowering tariffs. Mexico lost a lot of their agricultural sector to us. We lost a lot of our manufacturing sector to them.

The American people do not 'like to buy foreign products'. Corporations like to produce foreign products and flood the American market with them because they can take advantage of third world conditions to produce cheap shit. Yes, we get cheaper products. As a result we lose 'muh manufacturing jobs' and huge amounts of real wealth are lost from the country. How is this supposed to be a good thing, because a tiny portion of people get massively rich exploiting godawful conditions so a bunch of other people without decent working class jobs can buy cheaper, shittier shit? What.

Sounds to me like he's talking about targeting the families in order to prevent terror attacks, not necessarily killing them. 'Take out' is pretty suggestive, but knowing Trump he could easily clarify this as 'take out of play'. Look at his '2nd amendment' comment just recently, he does similar things for publicity all the time. But, maybe he does just mean kill.

Historically even back in roman times low cost of entry to business encourages economic growth and future stability, yeah people will get jobs and yeah things will stay tight but under him we will regain the means of production and by the end of his 8 years robots will have begun phasing out human production, managment, transport and paper pushing so like 70%+ of our economy will be gone in a short few years, high level work that requires education, artistic pursuits and entertainment will be the only work left out side of robot repairman.

I trust trump to dodge a civil war, to dodge a cold war, to dodge violent sand niggers and to return the means of production to the USA in 12 years it's basic income anyhow, unless we miss getting the means of production back because hillary and johnson don't care about those jobs, we'll be up shit creek with destitute human capital, 35 trillion in debt, no growth, a cold war we're losing a civil war in progress and a racewar because niggers get super fucking poor, like africa poor, because human capital ain't worth jack.

Vote Trump he's the only option out of civil war, race war and cold war, only trustworthy option even if some of his shit is fucked.

I trust him to do the shit he says, I don't trust hillary to do anything she says and she hasn't even said the right things for me anyway.

On taxes specifically though he's actually cutting deductions and loopholes progressively too, meaning a guy earning 50k a year has some deductions he can file for and the guy making 50M has 0 deductions, This combined with a progressive tax on un-earned income and a hike on the high end of hedge funds means the rich are paying more than they will have under Obama, the Fed audit will deflate the currency meaning the dollar will buy more, no more printing money for bailouts means undue inflation that has been rampant under obeezy is gone.

Trump is only option on economy.

The whole idea of the 2nd amendment is to guard against government tyranny. I take it Trump is suggesting possible rebellion if Hillary moves to alter the constitution and remove basic rights. The point is to defend the constitution. I'm saying 'why is this bad' because this is exactly what the founding fathers themselves would have advocated, in the event that a politician tried to remove basic constitutional rights. Seriously, are any of you even American?

MEANS OF PRODUCTION

You aren't a good communist friendo, we need the means of production to be in our country, the machines we shipped to china to roll cigarets and stamp plastic crap and make car doors and shit like that needs to be here so that we can put the robots to making that shit otherwise some other country will capitalize on the means of production and we will no longer be a relvant world power, we will balkanize shortly after human capital crashes if we don't have a dignified basic income we can tax robotic production for.

Robots will only be inhuman slaves it will function like a slave economy.

robot means slave

In slave economies people who own slaves have wealth and everybody else is poor because they can't compete with slave labor unless they do a really specified training intensive job. One robot would have the production out put of 3 men maybe 4 and software bots would be exponentially more useful than paper pushers.

It isn't a change we just need to build a modern slave economy, fortunately we don't have a morality gap with robots so to keep from impoverishing millions of US citizens who are heavily armed we will need a basic income. Production itself isn't changing so radically. we still need the machines humans use to produce, the only difference is that machines will operate those machines for us.

I dont know how you think the media misinterpreted what everyone can see clear as day in the year 2016..

I dont know how the media misinterpreted half the GOP dropping support for them, or rush goddamn limbaugh saying to vote democrat.

Or misinterpreted the fact a GOP member who supports trump said "dont worry about what he says, hes only crazy now, hell be normal when hes president."

>doing away with unnecessary bullshit government programs?

this means, and has always meant "less help for people who need it and more concentration of wealth among the rich". Period. Fullstop. End.

That is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS what conservative governments do when they "lower taxes" and "do away with necessary programs". I would be surprised if trump doesn't cut education and healthcare (especially mental health, he is of the "bad people are evil, not sick" mindset for sure). and you're fucking out of your mind if you think NASA will ever send anything into space again.

yes, indeed. the hindden agenda is to increase the wealth disparity. if they can't do it by giving themselves more money they can do it by taking away money from the poor. either way works. both is best for them.

and trump wants to repeal the estate tax which would make it even worse.

if you're for repealing that, you're an idiot. period.

And here in Mexico we say "él que no transa no avanza" -- if you don't cheat, you don't win. The people at the top of every country these days is there to screw the people who put them there. All politicians everywhere must be put onto the Golgafrincham 'B' Ark right away.

The robotics revolution wont come until after him. if we keep the peace we are 8 years out from incept give or take 1 year meaning the president after trump in this scenario would have to deal with these policy questions in that election cycle and it will be in full swing the election after that and we'll have a second chance at basic income.

Trump is a vehicle to Basic income because he returns commerce and growth to us along with aggressive nationalistic tariffs needed to retain the means of production just like Marx said.

Imagine hillary wins and there is no war, she will only get 4 years the next time around conservatives will have the ball again, this swing is consistent across all cycles in Presidential history, do you want conservatives handling the robotics crisis? Conservatives who would probably ban robots all together and let Russia, China and Japan take the lead and completely impoverish the rest of the world's mass produced manufacturing sectors?

Trump Has also shown that he is for pro- social policies so potentially we could see him softening the blow for basic income if he thinks it's necesarry, he's a blunt man, he'll see the relationship to slave labor and understand that robots will put everybody out of work in menial fields that robots should take over, he'll also see the value of robots for production.

A post trump america will be an america receptive to basic income on the basis of robot labor taxes.
