I've heard he used to be animator, possibly working as far back as the 60s. I don't know if that's true, but it does make sense since he's quite good at drawing.

Internet glory isn't valuable to me. I get stuff I want that wouldn't normally exist (like Tails x Gohan) and share it in case others like it. For all I know, selling doujin's might be a big part of MJ keeping his lights on. Don't want to devalue his lively hood, so those are a little more "sacred".
I don't think it would hurt to ask him though. However, patience is very much a virtue with Mitsui.
