Tool jumped the shark with Lateralus as far as I'm concerned. It was an instrumentally beautiful record but while they were always edgy and pretentious, they got especially hard to take seriously on that one. Dark Side of the Moon is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.
Animals is a personal favorite. Pigs: Three Different Ones hooked me, but Sheep is one of my favorite Floyd songs of all time.
Wish You Were Here is hauntingly beautiful while also making a statement questioning the integrity of the music industry.
The Wall is alternately beautiful and powerful, always brimming with emotion and often moving.
Piper at the Gates of Dawn is only for hardcore Floyd fans to attempt, but even though the style differs from the rest of their albums, I personally love it.

Don't listen to the haters. Pink Floyd were musical innovators. You can't often dance to it, and they've never rapped or even attempted to be mainstream, but they're different, in a very good way, and every note and every lyric is powerful and meaningful. They are easily the most successful prog. rock band ever. In this case success didn't mean selling out. They're visionary, extremely talented and wonderful songwriters and storytellers.

Division Bell, while good, can't hold a candle to nearly every other earlier album. Dave Gilmour is brilliant, but the wonderful darkness all came from Roger Waters, who was out of the band by Division Bell.
Division Bell was more mainstream. The songs were good, but they weren't the Pink Floyd of old.
