Licensing is a perfectly reasonable way for an individual to make money, but it's based on skimming profits off of changes to demand by influencing popular tastes. It can't be replicated on a wide scale. American real estate, on the other hand, is the safest investment bet in the world. There's a reason why so many Russians and Chinese pump their money into American real estate.
Any business that Trump has gotten into that includes actual substantitve production has usually failed. Whether it's goods (Trump Steaks, Trump Magazine) or services (Trump University). Goods and services are the meat and potatoes of economic production that we need to build upon in the American economy, and he has consistently failed in those endeavors.
