When I work I need at least 2 monitors, and then I like to have netflix running too so that's on the third. If i'm playing games I'll usually have a browser on the second and the third one off. If i'm streaming I've got the third monitor open with chats.
2 just becomes so convenient but you should only have 3 if you are consistently running out of space on your screen.

I build PC's in my spare time and sell them off for extra cash, but I dont live in the states.
Last time I checked though, a low/mid range pc is an i5, maybe a 780, a Z97 board and 8-16 gb of ram. Excluding the screen.
Now Just cause 3, a november 2015 game (nearly a year old) recommended an r9 290 and an i7 3770 to play well at 1080p.
A low-mid range PC is on par with a ps4. If that bursts your little PC master race bubble, then too bad. PC only becomes a preferable platform when you have knowledge of what you're doing, time to invest in learning about computers, and at least double the amount you would spend on a next gen console. Actually ill make that triple since next gen consoles here in the UK are going for £250 at the moment.
Learning computers isn't fun for a lot of people, and if you get it wrong you could find yourself waiting weeks for a new part or held back by something as simple as a wrong wire, or a faulty PSU, or god forbid driver problems.
PC's are hassle and can easily take away the fun of gaming on them just by their nature. I prefer PC because I play mainly Wow & RTS games, and I like to mod, but I really dont understand this PC master race crap. Nobody outside of leddit or 4chan actually gives a shit. If you argue over this kind of stuff, you should probably consider suicide or just exit this thread.
