The image gets compressed and stored in the cache location, which is why it's much lower quality, you can go to the cache location and replace the lq copies with the hq ones but you must rename them to match what you're replacing.

Some programs do have alternative ones built in that you can change in the properties of the .exe. Chrome has a bunch of different ones, including the Chromium and Canary ones. You'll probably be able to look up alt icons to add for most common apps.

I think its marketed exactly what it will deliver, an exploration game with space ship mechanics. I also think the "multiplayer" was just the naming of things, so anything else will be a mild surprise. I hate multiplayer space games because Eve makes it so damn dry and the freaking combat system is boring as hell.
But what I want is an space exploration game. I remember my first space game, Escape Velocity on my old Mac Performa. I loved just zipping around and discovering new places and trading and killing pirates, and then involving myself in a faction's war. I just want that nostalgia back. So that's why I will play.
Any other expectation was bloated purely by the gaming media and fan hype. Seriously, why do people think this is minecraft in space when minecraft is just building blocks.

Nah I mean the combat itself has always bored me. You double click to set your course to try to offset their turrets while yours are in line with your tracking speed. You hit your fire weapons buttons, and you use your medium slots to activate things depending on how the numbers fair for you. If that all sucks, you duck out. I used to play a tackler all the time and it was so boring. Hell I had more fun mining with good tunes on and scanning for hostiles.
Lets not mention the dismal skill system in that game. Yeah sure if you play for a year and specialize you can fly anything! Hell, you can get yourself a competent miner in a month's time. But fuck me having to sit around like that annoys the hell out of me.
