Good evening, Anonymous! Is anything troubling you? Maybe I can help.
>Come in for advice, fortune-telling, and friendly conversation.
>GETs (dubs, trips, etc.) can receive tarot readings from me.
>GETs can be donated to others.
>Leave a name for a fortune cookie, courtesy of the junior shrine maidens.
>Patience and love!
>Hang around if you GET and remind me if I miss you; it may take a while depending on how many requests I have.
>Leave internet/avatar drama at the gate, please.

Hello Lady Reimu!
It's great to see you!
How is everything?
~Mantis
Today has been extremely dull, and got a bad grade, oh well.
>>697842436
It's got a better title than the other one, at least.
I seem to have been able to arrive earlier than I usually do. Good evening.
>>697842568
You'll do better. Don't be me and fail college.
heres a bump before i start this hellish grinding
>>697842539

>>697843308
Hi, I'm also sad and lonely. Nice to meet you.
>>697843308
If you're diagnosed, does that mean you're seeking treatment for it?
You'll find plenty of good friends here, but as far as real life goes the best way to get better is to put yourself outside your comfort zone and interact with people anyway. A little at a time, each time you get the chance.
meetup.com might be able to help you find groups of people or activities that fall within your interests. Doing things together is a bonding experience, so that might be a good way to make some friends.
>>697843356
Glad to hear it!
*I am just lurking for this one, i'll become active the moment i find the person i am searching, or just when i have to say something i guess.*

>>697844281
Hi. New to these threads?
>>697844455
Doesn't sound like a fun game.
>>697843777
A GET is what you just did with your post number. I assume you'd like a tarot reading? If so, just specify whether you'd like a general reading, or ask a question... or maybe just specify a particular area of life that you want the reading to be about.
For the fortune cookies, you just leave some name... doesn't have to be your real one, and one of the other maidens will give you a short fortune regarding your luck this year.
>>697843777
For a fortune cookie you have to give a name, be it yours or made up. Also, just a tip, don't ask those stuff, you'll learn over time and avoid some embarrasment.
>>697843785

I'm trying my absolute hardest to get out of the constant cycle of just trying to keep my head above water. I am one step away from graduating from a good school but I feel like I'm stuck. Been applying for work all over and all I can rake in so far is a shitty retail job, and even though it'll get me by it hurts my pride for some reason. I'm not usually a overly proud person. I just want to move forward but I'm broke as shit and feel like I'm not actually advancing in life. I'm afraid of not "succeeding" the way I always thought I would. I feel like I'm always barely surviving.

>>697848764
Yes yes you can have your evil giggle... But if we are going to have another one you better not escape in this one.
>>697849029
You can't make magic satisfying without making it overpowered. It's quite an old problem in game development, I think. The only real way to solve it is to make magic the default and sidestep the need to balance it with melee I think.
The lewd is here
>>697848845
It's hard to live that way, but success is a slow road that can usually only be approached with baby steps. Graduating will take you a few steps closer as opposed to one, at least.
You should really consider what you define as success too, and try to evaluate what you could do in your current situation to make yourself happy on the journey, not just the destination.
It might hurt your pride, but sometimes pride needs to be broken for us to grow as people. If that job will put you in a position where you're not just surviving, but have a little money each month to put away, that will hasten your journey toward whatever you define as success. And that's a win. Appreciate every victory, Anonymous, no matter how small it may be. I believe in you.
>>697848845
Is there anyone looking up to you? Like expecting something from you, ej: parents, teachers, classmates or that sort of stuff? My first impression is that you might be suffering of stress because of you trying to be what people expect from you, but you should elaborate if you want to get a bit of help, anon.

Thank you, and it's a long story. To shorten, classic "being told by everyone what I'm amazing, talented, smart" whatever and feeling like I'm none of those things. I feel like I am far behind where I should be in normal situations and even farther if any of those words are true. I do treasure the fact that I have gotten this far, and honestly I am happy with everything I have. The last piece of the puzzle for me is financial stability. I just want to be free. I would love to be a comedian because I love making people laugh, but then I worry I'll fail at that too and won't have the necessities to even survive. I expect more from myself honestly.
>>697850165
It's sad, I like the idea of magic a lot.
>>697849987
Yeah well... it's a girl's prerogative and all that..
>>697842191
lately I've kind of lost my passion for most things
I don't know if I feel terrible or anything
I mean my PTSD is what it is and I still get triggered and have these waves of bad feelings and memories, but it's not something that ruins my life or anything
I just don't feel a lot of drive to keep improving myself and working on my projects and stuff
like I'm starting to backslide on my fitness and I'm getting rusty at my academics
I don't have any friends irl, but I also don't think I want any irl
I just want to go back to being happy being me and playing/making games and reading books and stuff but I can't seem to find that way
maybe I should go back to work? but I'm going back to school soon
I'm not depressed anymore but I'm still a shitty NEET
I might have had stronger feelings and passions when I was depressed, and lost in all that darkness
>>697850218
> I expect more from myself honestly.
And so does everyone else.. you're being too hard on yourself, anonymous, you're indeed, stressed out because of what everyone expect from you, why not just letting go? Letting yourself, be happy, you know? Who cares if the job you get isn't the one that others expect from you, take it, get money, and try your luck on comedy! What do you think?
>>697850456
Ill give you that, but if you do it again ill cutt off the pie supplies... You dont want to run out of pies, do you?
>>697850422
yeah i like the idea too, shame its never implimented well
>>697851187
It's one of the problems the games industry hasn't really been able to solve. I've seen a couple of promising attempts, but I don't think we're going to see it for a while at least.
>>697850685
Well, depression does changes a person, not everyone process it the same way. I doubt you'll ever be as you used to, we are humans afterall, we change all the time, constantly, and we learn by our experiences, but all this is up to you.
Only (You) can change your situation, if you want to be happy, well then, tell yourself you're happy, and BE happy. Keep telling yourself what to feel when you do what you want to like, you'll end up feeling that way, and maybe even be happy again!
So? What do you say, anon?
>>697850218
I'd say take the job for now to get you by, and work on your true dream during your down time! It'll be hard, jobs can sap your energy and motivation, but the thing about those is... they come from you. You can replenish them with your own willpower to succeed. And it'll be worth it if you can achieve your goal!
Anyway, I think it does more harm than good when people put expectations on you like that. It's something people tell you when they're trying to inspire you to do great things, but life is a struggle, and it's making you feel bad that you're struggling like most people when you should be above them somehow. Even the most talented and intelligent people struggled through parts of their lives, and I'm sure they felt the same way. Success relies on a lot of factors, not the least of which is never giving up and making an effort to reach our goals every day even if we can only make small advancements at a time.
I'm late am I not
Well, hello anyways.
>>697851470
I don't want to be happy I want to be inspired
Happiness is just a symptom of my greater satisfaction, a side-quest in the game of my life, a denouement after I actualize my ideals.
There's nothing wrong with striving just for happiness but I feel as though it seriously misses the point.
You're always late.
>>697850920
I have a feeling you're gonna do that anyway...
>>697850685
Willpower is a choice! A hard choice that you have to make each day. Any time you have the time to spare, ask yourself "is there something I can be doing right now to get closer to what I want?" and just do it, no matter how tired or unmotivated you feel. You'll get a second wind once you're actually in the middle of doing it, in most cases.

People use love as a commodity to be used and wasted. That is why the value of said love has dropped a lot.

You could say to not give up? Better luck next time?
Oh boy, i need GETs, i am gonna ask you for a reading about your future escapees, so it wont catch me off guard

You associate good dreams you used to have with fantasy bullshit and ignore the obvious real cause of their disappearance, which has to do with your state of mind. Seek a therapist. Not a psychic healer.
>>697853166
Wha... anon.. you say you lost your passion, yet what you just wrote was incredibly poetic, i kinda liked it.. Uh, hey, why don't you practice a bit? Do you think you could write me a poem, anon?

You know, Thelema, Theosophy, Gnosticism, Discordianism, Paganism, Wicca, Onmyouji, the techniques of Summoning written into the Kabbalah, the lesser key of Solomon, Alchemy, all those Grimoires about herbology and european witchcraft and shamanism, and the word of mouth traditions of shamanism lingering and perhaps fading out around the world and etc.
Gurdijeff is one of my favorites, what a funny old man

Oh but she is a nice girl, its just that she left in the middle of SOMETHING! hmm

Well keep your eye on her then. See how often she does it and if she seems regretful about it.
I understand if people are busy and have things to do but if it happens to often...

I don't know that a lot of them have much gameplay application, to be honest. I'd have to research it properly, but I doubt they'd build into a compelling system you can build a game around.

on the contrary, I feel like the medium of games is perfect for transmitting some of the more hermetic ideas and symbolism
on the other hand, you would have to make it riddled to even communicate the concept properly, and most capable of doing so are also not willing to do so
>>697854426
That may be true but what I'm saying in general is... to get real. Drop the delusional BS and come to terms with the truth of the matter. It's necessary for fixing things.

Uuuh.. Besides science? I have plenty of past experience with someone who believed in the supernatural. I lived with them. I took care of them. For years. It hurt her. Dragged her down to the lowest depths of unhappiness because it interfered with her everyday life. I love that person. And it broke my heart to have to try and convince her it wasn't real because she clung to it for years. Because she thought it was all she had. Became part of her. I have one hundred and one reasons to be confident in my assertion.
>>697856051
If you believe in science then why would you use a single piece of experimental data comprising less than 1/7000000000th of the data that lives and exists right now in order to come to an absolute conclusion about all the permutations and results of what is possible? That is some pretty extreme level of confirmation bias.
>>697855638
Yee, let's see if i can do something right for once. What's your record? Might try to break it~
>>697856051
Mmh.. i have the feeling that if we got to talk we could kinda get along afterall.
>>697855803
Basically saying that you lost your interest in everything, that or you want to die.
Oii! Hikari! Are you here?
>>697856538
I'm not sure it's fair to say that eating bugs represents the entirety of what it means to be a frog. Can a frog not become an artist if it has the will to do so? An elephant can do it so why not a frog?
Is there any animal that doesn't engage in apparently aimless behavior at some point in the history of it's species?
>>697856535
Because there has never been any kind of definitive proof in the supernatural. Grasping at made up answers to things is the complete opposite of scientific.
>>697856535
No, I use my personal experience in -addition- to science, to fuel my argument. Believe what you want. Throw your life away on useless pursuits you'll release all too late were never real and fall into the pit of nihilism and depression for all I care. I've given you the only advice you really need. The rest is up to you. Good luck.

The Red Ribbon Story
by Reimu Hakurei
Long ago, in the days before civilization, mankind ran among the trees like wild animals, eating their hunted prey whole... even the hides and hairs. A certain goddess saw great promise in this creature, and she thought it was unfitting for him to behave in such a bestial way. She searched for many years among them to find a human worthy of elevating above the rest, and on a certain day she found a lone woman in a wild berry patch, picking berries and eating them in a way that could be described as more refined than her peers.
She appeared to this woman, and gave her the name Akane, because the berries she was eating were red. She told Akane that it was her destiny to bring refinement to her kind, to teach them to eat the red meat the same way she ate the berries, without soiling themselves in red juice. She promised to send a mythical creature that would aid her in this task, and vanished before her eyes. Akane was confused and mystified, and returned home that night without telling anyone what she had seen.
A few days later, while walking near a river, Akane came across a large dragonhorse, a creature with a shell like a turtle... and on that shell was inscribed the Eight Trigrams that laid out the patterns the Gods used to attain mastery of the world. Using her red berry juice as ink, she copied those trigrams and studied them every day...

Life made me like this. As for hostility... I'm fine with helping people. It doesn't mean I'm going to put up with their shit.
>>697858816
By this, Akane was able to teach her fellow humans much more than just how to eat properly. She laid out the foundations for all of human sophistocation and elegance, leading them to build the first village ever conceived. Akane met a man of great promise, and they became the world's first married couple using the rites she learned from the back of a turtle. That man unfortunately was given the credit for everything she did, and society became a patriarchal one, but Akane loved him so deeply that she didn't mind only being the wife of the greatest man in history.
To reward her efforts, the goddess returned one day while Akane was crushing berries to get more red juice. She held out to her a white silk ribbon of the highest quality, woven in Heaven. Akane was kind of clumsy that day though, and she dropped the ribbon into the juice, dying it forever red. But she liked that color, and thought it was a good reminder of the times when humans were always covered in red of some kind or another... a reminder of how far they had come. And so the red ribbon was passed down through the generations, eventually becoming a symbol worn by sophistocated ladies everywhere.

I'm not sure that you're very good at science anon, it seems like you might be one of those people who worships science as a replacement idol instead of understanding it as a simple and imperfect system of knowledge to be utilized as a tool.
If you truly cared about science you might be able to understand that it offers no absolutes and merely works as a fluid construct that happens to apply effectively to things as we understand them right now, that the absence of a proof that someone can show you on demand disproves nothing, that the history of science has had many dead ends and loose conjectures that had to be aimed at and proved based on hypothesis and data which made earlier ideas more questionable. Indeed, grasping at questionable ideas and questioning literally everything and it's basis and meaning and origins and coming to no absolute conclusion is the real meat of scientific discovery, before we can know the truth we need to accept that the truth we have now might be incorrect or imperfect.
It might be unscientific for me to claim with absolute certainty that I'm psychic, and that's why it's not something that I do, instead I have a list of working ideas and possible explanations for why things aren't entirely as mundane as it is assumed they are, at least in my experience, and when I get the opportunity I tend to tell people, okay, I've had so and so a premonition, and it's possible that it's a baseless fantasy in my mind but if it does happen, why don't you go ahead and tell me what you think of it later.
At the same time, it's succinctly unscientific to claim with certainty that something is impossible and untrue without acquiring all the data, and it is quite impossible to acquire all the data in this circumstance so I don't know why you would claim something is 100% untrue when you have no actual proof, but merely the absence of proof instead; the absence of proof is really proof of nothing.
