About two years ago the fluffies were in a golden age, when about 80% of the stuff you see today was made. Abusers or hugboxers, everyone loved fluffies and would have wanted them for one reason or another.

I'm hoping for the good times to return too. For a while majority of new art was all hellgremlins, and I nearly quit myself during that time. The idea of fluffies being evil (known as hellgremlin-headcanon) is basically a completely separate fandom about completely opposite creatures, so it would be better to split them into their own sub-fandom rather than ruining the original fluffies.

Abuse-sir and Santanon had an unhealthy relationship, sure, but at the end of the day Abuse-sir was still contributing TONS of content, quite a lot of creative stuff as he progressed. When he and Santanon had at it in my thread and he got banned it was depressing. His art was unique and his fluffies showed emotion. Santanon then went on to say my art was basically ms paint scribbles and that I'd taken to following a poor artist and I just couldn't take it. Oh well. It's behind me now. I'm sure AS and Wolfram will go on to bigger and better things.

I remember that. While I didn't see the drama in the booru, I wondered why Santanon was so uncharasteristically hostile towards someone who did obviously better art than over half of the currently active artists. Seems like that was part of his grudge with Abuse-sir.
Please don't let him keep you away from drawing fluffies. Listen to everyone else who actually DOES want you to draw more!

I personally don't care for or about drama; I come to threads and booru, I post what I have saved, every once in a while I write a story, I enjoy the fluffydom. See what people forget is that we humans and our scruples just get in the way of perfectly good fluffies.
