my parents own a mossberg 590(i think) shotgun. the red thing on top is showing, which means the safety is on. the pump is currently pulled back (toward the trigger), and it's been in this state for months. i've read about accidental discharges for shotguns, and i've read that keeping the 'shell' in the 'chamber' is not a safe practice
so currently, with the pump pulled back, is the shell chambered? and if i want to use it, should i take the shells out first and reload it, or should i push the pump forward and pull the trigger?
