I'm building a PC with the sole purpose of running Kali. Currently have VB with Kali to practice pen-testing on Windows 7/10. I want to do this as a living.
I've used Ubuntu on several occasions, but quite frankly even with all the work on Ubuntu over the years it still feels amateurish. It doesn't help that the support is still horrible (got an AMD graphics card and the latest Ubuntu release? Congrats, you can barely install steam due to lack of updated drivers) and that troubleshooting for Ubuntu Linux is a far bigger hassle than troubleshooting for Windows. Linux is a very niche OS that in its current state is an inferior alternative for the vast majority of the population.
