I've always liked doing this. Ever want to save a life? Become a really good, really fast greentext writer, and hit up feels and suicide threads. Write a "totally true life story" for some poor anon, but tailor your story to match their circumstances, but end the story with hope. Some guy seem close to the edge over a breakup? Make up a story about meeting a new person and healing. Some father is throwing up his guilt about beating his kid onto a thread? Tell a story from the perspective of a parent who did the same and eventually did everything they could to make things right. You have to research it though, read survivor accounts of whatever issue you're dealing with, you have to be pretty close on with what they're feeling if you want to hit them hard.
Sure, maybe most of the time it doesn't save a life and just gets some smiles, but if even one person is telling the truth when they say the story gave them a new outlook on life, it's worth it.

I generally tell my life experiences and those of people I have as friends/knew. There is a lot of shit that happens around, and when people trust you, they open themselves (too much) with you. Never had to make up everything, and yeah, it's worth it.
