As most tests aren't genetic, this means many children with attitude problems will be mistaken for ADHD. But the idea it doesn't exist is ridiculous.
More to the point, I have to take on this whole idea of blaming the parents. In a narrow sense we can, as the parent provide the child's genes. However, differences in parenting technique make absolutely no difference to traits like ADHD and autism, which manifest outside the home.

I took adderall in high school for ADHD.
Before I started it, I was a D student, maybe a few Cs in the clow off classes. I couldn't focus on any assignment long enough to finish it before it was due. I couldn't take notes in class because every time I tried to concentration I would suddenly snap out of a day dream 20 minutes later as the teacher was erasing the board. I was constantly in trouble, my frustrations manifested themselves in negative behaviors, and I constantly stressed my parents and pushed them to the limits of their patience.
Then the adderall came. Sudden clarity washed over me. Looking at my homework sheet, my pen just magically started writing. information spewed out of me like a geyser, and the problem was complete. then the next one, and the next one. within a few minutes my homework assignment was completed. Paying attention in class became a simple task of watching and listening instead of fight constant boredom and drifting thoughts. I started making straight As, and was allowed to take honors classes during my junior and senior year. I found out that I loved math, and physics was my favorite subject.
I don't know if ADHD is real or not, but my point is: That adderall is some AMAZING shit. They should just toss that shit out like candy at a parade.
