I know I said a bunch of regrettable things that have hurt my reputation, lost me friends, and negatively-impacted my ability to find work, but I keep stressing over it, losing sleep, and over-analyzing every mistake I've ever made. Since I used drugs and alcohol heavily, I have made many mistakes. I have lost my license, my job, my old place, and a couple long-term relationships because of my mistakes. I am seeing a regular therapist, case worker, and addictions counselor to work through my paranoid thoughts, but I still feel that people are holding my past against me and trying to sabotage me in various ways. I don't know how to overcome this pre-occupation, but I'm at my wits end, and wanna retire from the public eye and resign myself to a life of failure in seclusion, since there don't seem to be any other options.:

well, i did grow bitter, too much really, not only was my mom a cunt, i was bullied thoughout all 10 years of public school. i also told to go with the special eds class on field trips each week because of "reasons," so that didnt help anything at all. for years i hated people, each and everyone i saw i would dislike, its only recently ive been able to become more relaxed on that point, but it still takes years for me to trust anyone in real life.
as for trying to prove them wrong, thats what i did and tried to do, however in university i couldnt keep up as after 7 big projects i was the only person among the groups of people i had to work with that would work on our products, and then on top of that also had to make 1/3-1/2 of the paper work to document it. the stress of that simply became too much one week when i got sick and here i am almost a year later not knowing what is going to happen with my courses since they agreed to give me some special agreement due to my problems.

Ah, sorry to hear it. I went through a similar thing early this year. I guess I sort of steeled my heart, because we both decided the option was to not be together anymore. That it was for the best. So I made an effort during the preparation period to not let it get to me, to just harden my emotions and let it pass without being too attached to her.
I regretted it as soon as I saw her walk through the gate at the airport. We were both so busy being strong, that we didn't even wave goodbye to each other a final time. I went home and cried and wallowed in depression for several months.
I guess what I'm saying is... there's no happy solution in a situation like that. Just gotta weather through it and try to pick the pieces up at some point.
