I mean, honestly, that shit can run under Wine if you wanted it to, and if you were a picky fucker, yes, you could also do a VM. Furthermore, if you really did want to, you could dual boot. I'm a hardcore GNU/linux fan, so I'd suggest you switch. However, I'm not against dual booting. Seriously, do it.
But really, there's nothing wrong with many of the alternatives anyway. GIMP is pretty great on the development channel, stable can suck my cock. Personally, I don't really use word-ish software, but if you want to use MS Office you can, alternatively I have good experiences with Libre Office. It's very very nice, and of course fully compatible.

You don't need MS Word or Photoshop. GIMP isn't inferior, its different, and both get the job done under the right hands. MS's doc formats made with Libre Office work pretty well nowadays.
Photoshop runs well on wine because its requested so much. But really, if you're going to use proprietary software that has equal alternatives, there's not much point to it.
