If I'm not mistaken, sociological studies are not applied on a worldwide scale-- they're applied on smaller groups of individuals. I believe your point of view to be aligned with Durkheim's perception of sociology and, to an extent, human behavior. That point of view ignores, however, that we may not attain absolute truths concerning the large majority of concepts that are studied in social sciences. Claiming so would be implying we have mastered the complexity and intellect of the human brain to its full extent; I find this very hard to believe, as the human brain is believed to be of the most complex things this universe has to offer.

There are hundreds of millions of other Muslims who do NOT condemn adultery. My main premise was not to defend the very culture of Islam, of which the effects are demonstrated in the picture you've showed me. It is, again, to prove that not ALL muslims are like this, like the children from earlier were arguing. The very picture you've showed me validates my point; that there is, indeed, variance within the Islamic faith.
We do it to come nearer to the truth, but there's a large difference between scientific progress and our understanding of human psychology, sociology and complexity. The fact its goal is to reach the truth is a given-- can you truly say, however, that there will be a day where we can generalize 100% of the individuals of a studied group? There is no such thing, again, as an absolute truth, and it is what I'm arguing against.
