It was better and more fun to watch when the threads weren't primarily about requests.
When you shift the thread focus to requests, then mostly people focus on fulfilling them. The threads turn into a grindfest of trying to satisfy the never-ending appetite of anonymous. The overall attitude shifts from trying to have fun, to work. Work without any pay besides the small chance that doing requests will pay off in the form of improvements, or burning through what small amount of time we spend on a spinning rock in space.
There's a certain amount of expectation attributed to the threads that varies over time. Right now, I don't think it's meeting anyone's expectations.
Likely the threads are just slow for a bit while recovering from all the shitty drama from the past few month.
Then again, maybe I'm writing this just to have conversation. Or possibly to waste time till I get to go home.

But really, I think it was more fun when drawfags just circlejerked. People fought for fun. Bloody fucked catfox, and fucked up Zander. There was more than 3 drawfags on at a time. EHG would be himself instead of shitposting. Ire posted often. Fly was hella cool. Punk was a fun personality. People actually complained about the circlejerking rather than literally everything. Trinket was actually bitched at for being Too lewd. Blulu was actually chased off. Adventures in which people were actually invested in, even if they didn't complete them. Hell, I even think bagman was pretty entertaining, (before the whole awkwardness with Lindy.)
Fuck, it's like watching a favorite show, but the current season is all filler.

It does look rather nice. But I'm a cheapskate and hold no interest for the character pictured. I did however take a close look, and it is very well detailed. The muscle structure is pretty good. The fact that it's colored lends it even more value. If I have a damn about the character, and had reasonable money to spend, I'd probably pay $25-35 if the same artist did one of my characters.
