click on the pokemon you want, and it takes stardust, and candies to level it up. Get stardust by leveling, and you can get candies of your pokemon type, by catching other pokemon type as the one you're trying to level, then, open up your pokemon and scroll to the ones you don't wanna keep, click on them, scroll down and hit transfer, it will give you some XP and a candy.

You can catch wild charizards.

You need 2 things.
1: Stardust (those purple vails)
2: Pokémon candies.
You get the dust from catching pokemon, 100 per catch. Then you get a daily bonus for each gym you and your team owns that you're defending.
Candy comes from catching that same pokemon. Each time you catch the same one you get 3 candy for that pokemon. The evolved form uses the same candy as regular forms. You can give Prof. Oak your pokemon and he'll give you an extra candy
