Well you can scale text up so it isn't so small. But there's lots of situations where I wish I had a regular full HD monitor.
If a new game is released and your GFX stuggles to run it at 4K with high settings, then you'll have to scale down which sucks. Using anything else but native resolution is just meh.
Beside gaming I also struggle with Visual Studio and software like Unreal Engine 4 and Eon vue. The larger resolution displays a larger viewport of the scene which also takes a lot more power.
So, buying a 4K monitor requires you to pretty much buy a new PC (depending on what you use for PC to). I should have kept my regular HD monitor.
My spec. however is:
20gb ddr3 ram
GTX 970 (should be upgraded)
