I'm just glad someone agrees. What Radiohead does is find a new gimmick on every album and exploits it. So while the albums sound a little different they are virtually the same. Thom Yorke moans like a ghost into the mic, they play basic rock/pop progressions, they dont play anything intricate/complex (excluded a few songs in their discography), the songs go on a little too long, and the lyrics are just cryptic enough to hide the fact that half of the songs aren't about anything.

IMO hail to the thief is radiohead's best album by far, i mean ok computer is ok but a bit too generic, kid a and amnesiac have a great atmosphere and are basically radiohead developing into something cool, hail to the king is like the pinnacle of their cool, weird, ambient-meets-rock shit, and then everything after that starts to feel like old men noodling away in the studio. it's musical masturbation, they aren't producing anything fresh or interesting.
its like comparing the red hot chili peppers in their sound and scope to fucking John Frusciante.
but could just be im biased to HTTT because it was the first radiohead album i bought for myself idk.

I've never personally met the guy, so in person he might be quite different, but he seemed to get very weird at around the time Machina (part 2) came out - like he thought he was god's gift to humanity or something.
He was always known for having a big ego. I went to a concert SP held back in the mid-2000s. He made the crowd sing him happy birthday. Twice. It doesn't sound like a big thing but the way it was done was just like, this dude is full of himself.
He wrote the soundtrack to my teenage years and I'll always be thankful for what that gave me (words cannot express), but after that it seemed to become a bit self-indulgent.

I get why someone might not want to listen to Radiohead. I didn't for years because of the shear popularity of the band while I was in art school. I was sick of hearing them. But objectively, they are a good band. And now that I'm not forced to listen to them constantly, I like them, and actually choose to listen on my own (especially post-art school releases).
TL;DR: Almost everything posted in this thread has been objectively decent, somewhere in the 8/10 range and above. Past that, if you don't like it, it's subjective. If you bitch at others for liking things you don't like, you're a fucking douchebag.
