Generally you'd need to be hooked up to the printer's network be it wifi or cord.
You'd find it by hitting the network button in any button on windows. Dunno on mac.
Look around your network for a bit, hope nobody's watching, and right click a printer when you find it and hit properties. Get the IP and put it in the address bar of your browser. If it needs a pass, don't bother, unless you provide it. Just make sure you don't get noticed.
And make sure you can still access it from outside the network it's hooked up to, I.E. get under some stuff to hide your ass and check it from your local computer at home or something, then post info on your phone if it turns out it's accessible from outside the work's network.
This is how I've done it in my experience, accessing printers from afar. I just never posted it or used it for evil. I'd generally just access the printer in my instructor's homerooms and print papers that were due directly into their office or homeroom.

Printers aren't the only shit you can mess with nowadays. You could also get into TV monitors, speakers, etc. There's plenty of unsecured shit you could easily post links to on 4chan.
