Alright so I'm going to break this down. I've never owned a firearm before, I'm 20 years old and I have $1500 cash. I want to buy an AR 15 online, I've never been convicted, etc. And I found a gun I really want https://www.gunsamerica.com/996173439/CUSTOM-AMERICAN-TACTICAL-OMNI-HYBRID-5-56mm-223-BGA-Alum-Quad-Rail-w-Covers-30mm-UTG-Red-Green-Dot-Optic-with-5-MOA-Dot-UTG-SWATFORCE-LASER.htm I know the whole FFL, where I need to transfer it. But my question is what happens after I buy it, I don't have a CPL or any kind of weapons license and I was wondering if I just go through the normal background check when buying. So when I get there I just pay the transfer fee and I go through the background check and it's done, Correct?
Once again, first time buyer, I've never been to a gun shop before. Thanks /b/
You don't need an assault rifle 15
>>691022523
Go to a gun shop ask them for advice on buying your first gun.
They'll probably give something small like a .22lr or a 9mm.
But a .223 AR-15 is fine because it was also the first gun I shot.
Go to /k/ and you can ask them, they're gonna know more about this than the average /b/tard, post it in the qtddtot thread so they don't get mad, and I suggest getting a 22 semi auto before something bigger so you can learn the basics before you get into the more expensive shit but that's your call
>>691022523
You're asking questions about laws, you need to tell us what state you're in.
>>691023099
Nebraska, Omaha specifically.
>>691023173
Oh and I did, no replies...at all
>>691023013
This, /k/ is a good place and they know their shit.
>>691023099
This as well, I really hope you don't live in California because that AR-15 is pretty much banned unless you meet certain requirements like having a bullet button.
>>691023247
Stand by...
Check the gun laws for your state.
You can usually transport the gun to/from gunsmiths and ranges without a permit.
You may or may not be able to open carry.
You may have to transport firearms unloaded.
You may have to transport the gun and ammo in separate closed containers, or in the trunk, or both.
You may need to store it securely to avoid liability if someone else grabs. E.g., gun safe, trigger lock..
Failing to comply with gun laws is usually a crime, sometimes even a felony. Don't be a fucking retard. Do your research before you even order it.
>>691023670
This is apart of my research, wouldn't you think? :^)
>>691022523
Here is what you do get an AR-15
a 12 guage shotgun that will be about $1500
Problem solved then all you need is a pistol
9's and 45's are ok I prefer a .357 its basically between a 9 and a 45 good control great accuracy, and great stopping force.
>>691022523
Get a normal AR-15 instead of a custom one.
Then you customize it with parts you bought because you get more freedom on choosing what you want for your AR.
I just need to know what I need provide in terms of weapons licenses etc when I go to the FFL I chose. Do I need to have a permit when I go there, I'll have my ID and SSN, I just need to know what kind of information I need to have to give to the dealer/store.
Oh look, an idiot spending all his money on a gun he will never need. Have fun being poor and making bad decisions for the rest of your life. Amurica!
>>691023247
Looks like all you need to do is pass a NICS check during the transfer and you're good to go. No license or wait as long as your NICS comes back clean. To be safe, like another anon suggested, go check with the gun store where you want to transfer. They will tell you for sure.
>>691024274
Yes you do need a permit to buy any gun depending on the area you live in, but I don't live in Nebraska so it might be different where you live.
>>691024408
This is embarrassing to read
>>691024858
He doesn't need a permit for a rifle in Nebraska. Just needs to pass a background check.
>>691024763
Alright thank you.
>>691024858
And thank you to you.
Why buy one online? Just go to a gun show
>>691025053
>>691025036
Thanks for the input. Makes me regret being in Southern Cali.
>>691025053
Eh... I mean I could but I think I wanna buy online because I think I'll be able to do more research on the specific gun online rather irl and in person.
>>691024929
Spending 1.5k on an AR really isn't plausible for self protection. If you want to have some fun in the woods, then hell yeah. But not really a home defense weapon unless you live in a gang neighborhood
>>691024274
A driver's license or a passport should be sufficient.
>>691022523
not being convicted isn't good enough these days. you'll need to go through some pretty strict vetting to make sure you can safely own such an assault style weapon. this means yuo'll have to demonstrate some tolerance, responsibility and capability to handle the thing. if you are a member of some strange violent religious sect, or even pretend to be one, you will likely be disqualified.
>>691025215
No problem, I feel your some of your pain, I live in Connecticut. It's bad here, but not as bad a Cali. I felt bad looking up Nebraska laws for this guy and seeing what a free state's laws look like.
>>691025332
Pretty much this. ARs are really nice, but you need a reason for buying a expensive gun like going plinking or hunting.
>>691025332
Just stop, you have no idea what you're talking about on multiple points.
>>691022523
Comtact the store you want it shipped to, let them know about it. Give the seller the gun stores info, pay the guy. Go in store once it gets there, they run background check, you pay transfer fee, get gun, buy some ammo and go home.
>>691025651
yeah he's right though. if yuo're getting attacked by a gang of 30 or so then yeah the assault rifles are justified. yuo know, when you need to kill dozens at once. but usually one good shot with the shotgun is enough to at least deter 99.99% of intruders.
if you are facing a gang, then even a really great assault weapon is not going to save you.
>>691025787
yes, the point is we really need to make our background checks more robust.
>>691026040
>the point is we really need to make our background checks more robust.
FBI NICS background check. Exactly how would you make this more "robust"?
>>691023971
This.
Go to Whittakerguns.com and get the Smith & Wesson M&P15. Good entry level weapon. It's $549 (if sold out just keep watching...it comes back).
Then buy a case, lots of ammo, magazines, and customize it. When you're done you will have enough for a pistol. They had a Taurus .380 for under $200. You will still have some cash left over to go to a range and practice. Don't forget a cleaning kit and lubricant.
>>691026040
Maybe to certain states.
>>691025543
Im not Lol, live in a normal family home... No weird cult or gang I'm apart of. Im white so I should be fine right :^)
>>691025787
Alright, thank you. Do I just tell them my order number, etc?
>>691025898
Spotted the never fired a gun guy but I need to reply because I read stuff online idiot
>>691026367
Background checks are federal halfwit.
>>691026291
>Taurus .380
I was with you until this
>never Taurus
>>691025898
You can say an AR is too much all you want, but these guns are out there for a reason, people buy them for sport, just for defense for whatever reason. As long as they don't do anything illegal I don't see why they shouldn't be bought.
>>691026430
The seller should have your name and all. And when you let the store know its coming, they'll just keep an eye out for it and probably call you when it arrives.
Just call the store and they'll be happy to talk you through the process. They love making $25-$50 for doing nothing but running a background check.
>>691027058
Alright, thank you.
>>691025898
Holy fuck, you are straight up stupid.
Off-the-shelf AR-15s are not assault rifles.
Assault rifles have select fire.
Select fire means an option for burst/automatic.
You are ignorant, go away.
>>691027253
No problem bud, have fun!
>>691027344
But they have sights, semi automatic, and attachments
>>691022523
just buy it .. i dont understand. where i live theres no restrictions. if there were it would be a restriction on the second amendment.. unconstitutional
>>691022523

>>691027375

>>691027757
>americans are so fucking stupid
>>691026430
OP.
Why don't you buy off the shelf at a LGS [local gun store]?
I would advise against buying a boutique AR as your first rifle, especially at a $1500 price tag. I built my rifle from a stripped lower. I've spent about 1200-1300 so far. But it's my nice AR. My first one cost 500 bucks. It works just as good as my special snowflake AR.
You should consider a cheaper entry level si you can buy magazines and ammo, targets, lubricant( AR's need to run wet), a cleaning rod/kit, a case, sling, optics if you choose. Then more magazines, and ammo ammo ammo.
Plus you don't have to wait for shipping this way, of it comes blemished, you don't have to worry about returning it, etc...
>>691027585
>semi automatic
Not an assault rifle. I already said assault rifles have select fire. It's, like, the definition, man.
Sights and rails mean jack.
You should drink some bleach to clear your head.
>>691028069
>especially at a $1500 price tag
It's $800 according to the website. If it was any more, I'd suggest the same thing
>>691028005

>>691028105
Sights make your victim clearer to look at and rails make it possible to attach other weapons such as a foregrip and a knife.

Do your homework it your trying to rile people up. You just sound dumb right now. AR's have a bayonet lug on the front sightpost/gas block.

who cares about some shit definition that only helps the NRA. it was defined wrongly. let's not cling to some dumb ass outdate definition. fuck that.
>>691026281
He wouldn't, but "robust" is a good buzzword and politicians he likes use it so he thinks it means something.
>>691028615
Wasn't sure if stupid or troll from the first post.
I'm surrounded by dumbasses who are terrified about guns but know shit about them, so I see real people like that all the time.
I'm liberal as fuck about everything else, but I can't fucking listen to people talk about guns here..
>>691027031
Yeah yeah I know. Heard the same for HiPoint. But it doesn't need to have a reliable range beyond 20 or 30 feet for home defense. That particular weapon has decent reviews. Probably worth it. Obviously not a long range or precision firearm. Just trying to be pragmatic for anon. If you want to spend more and get a far superior pistol, get a glock 22 or 23, or a 1911.
>>691029408
Tell me the new definition.
>>691029735
anything that if you took out to hunt a deer you'd look like a real douche bag.
>>691025332

Guns designed with nothing else in mind other than to kill the maximum amount of human beings that you can.

>>691029970
>>691030046
no it's great. i've done it myself. but if you're bringing an AR-15 to hunt deer you're a fucking dickhead and you should be denied a hunting licence.

>that only helps the NRA
>>691022828
BUAHAHAHAHAHAH FUCKING RETARD HAHAHAA
(AR = Armalite)
>>691029408
You sound mentally challenged. You also obviously haven't thought your arguments through. Those definitions are VERY important according to some significant laws that were passed before you were swimming around in your dad's nutsack. Like the 1986 firearm owners protection act. Do some research, grow up, and buy a gun pussy.
>>691030257
What makes an AR-15 different from another gun?
>>691022523
Go to /k/ you braindead fucker.
You shouldn't even have a gun if you can't do a little bit of fucking research. Conceited faggot.
>>691030257
>>691029970
>>691029408
These are the types of answers you get from people that have no fucking clue what they're talking about
>>691030353
yeah it was a definition designed to protect the right of gun makers to sell as many guns as they can and so make as much money as possible. so what?
>>691030257
That depends on what it's chambered in
>>691029159
Florida guy also passed multiple mental health evaluations and had a background check every year because of his job.
No check system would've stopped him.
The FBI and DHS either dropped the ball or were forced to drop it. The Obama Administration has been a sock puppet for Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups like CAIR, who've basically talked a hyper PC group of faggots into going along with their "Islamophobia" horse shit so that terrorism investigations essentially grind to a standstill.

It's designed only to kill as many things as possible. If you're hunting 30 deer then yes you should have an assault weapon. But you are not allowed to kill 30 deer at once. and putting 30 bullets into one poor deer ruins the meat.
many times we've hung up a deer to bleed it out on the patio.
Here come all the fucking pussy liberals

>>691030652
so obviously they were not robust enough. thank you. clearly we need to make some alterations. anyone investigated by the law enforcement for violent or anti-US shit should be barred from owning guns.
>>691030824
Dude, they make mags for an AR-15 in everything from 5 rounds to 100-some. Just like basically any other mag-fed gun. That's not remotely an argument.
>>691030824
>assault weapon

>>>/k/
we're talking expensive guns here
>>691025215
you don't need a permit for a gun in SoCal either buddy.
>>691031052
any gun that allows for high capacity mags should be denied to people who might be terrorists. it's really that simple.
Luckily I like in Texas. Buying a gun is no more difficult than buying a stick of gum.
>>691030527
Your probably not mentally mature enough for social media, much less 4chan.
And that's a really well thought out responce. You sure changed my mind.
>>691030824
>It's designed only to kill as many things as possible
Tell us what part of the design.
You sound like the son of some retarded fudd who doesn't actually know shit about guns.
>>691030990
Nah. I'd really rather not have a fundamental right stripped from me just for being investigated for a crime I may or may not have ever thought of committing.
Under the current system, you're barred from gun purchase if you've been proven to have committed a federal offense (and other rules). Sounds pretty reasonable to me, even if it's not perfect. Innocence until proven guilt and all that jazz.
>>691031223
>Luckily I like in Texas. Buying a gun is no more difficult than buying a stick of gum.

So every family with an autistic freak child like sandy hook, right?
Buy a nice AR15 if you have 1500 to blow, not that cheap ATI with the grabage UTG accessories on it.
>>691031335
that's not good enough clearly. we need to make sure people who are going to do mass shootings or who are terrorists groups do not get these weapons designed to kill mass amounts of people. however we have to get there, we need to do it.
>>691031368
Or you know shit about guns and are aware that that's a meaningless sentence.
>>691031480
not banning it faggot, keeping it out of hte hands of possible terrorists.
>>691030954
You don't hunt with an ar15 you dumb shit. It is inhumane because the .223 round is not enough to quickly kill a deer. They suffer more. Real hunters will use at least a .308 caliber.
>>691031510
yes, just like if you're married to a felon you can't have a gun.
>>691031216

>>691031547

no he was being investigated and should not have been allowed to own them. it's true right now our checks have failed us. we need to make them more robust. first off, if someone is investigated for extremist views and they're muslim, no gun.
>>691034699
And what makes a handgun differ from a "modified" automatic?
>>691034742
you got to show some kind of real peer reviewed source for your nonsense. the burden of proof is on you
>>691034944
it's a lot harder to kill someone with a handgun.
>>691034923
That's not in clear violation of first principles, no-sirree.
>>691034595
Spoken like a fudd who wants to feel superior to others by not using the tools at his disposal.
>>691035098
Lol
Please go to a range and learn some shit.
>>691035098
It really isn't.
>>691035098
So is an automatic gun.
Get AR15 - because all other gun pistol. Ask for AR15 holster, AR15 drum mag, AR15 AR15 grip, military grade AR15 light, AR15 Laser attachment, AR15 sling, AR 15 silencer, and AR15 FMJ bullets. TRUST. Beer bottle going to be bitch bottle.
>>691035123
you can't bazooka a deer. you can't use a hand grenade to fish. this is some common sense shit.
This would be a better post for k. My opinion would normally be get a Ruger 10/22, but since .22LR is still hard to find, and way overpriced. I think an at is a decent first gun option.
>>691035295
And that has what to do with cars, exactly? People don't "hunt from cars" by running the deer over.
>>691035295
Well I mean if it's a relatively small pond and a powerful grenade that might be doable.
>>691035202
been many times. putting a hole in stationary paper is not anywhere near the same as hitting a running, crazed target.
>>691022523
Realtalk advice from a shooter: don't buy it. Omni receivers are plastic garbage, the sight is Chinese nonsense, and the rail isn't freefloat, meaning it really isn't worth it. The gun is massively overpriced
Goes to /b on advice if buying a 15 hundred dollar gun online, kill yourself OP.
>>691035447
Go to a better range. One with moving targets. Bring a bucket of ice with you and submerge your hands in it between evolutions to simulate the lack of response typically caused by an adrenalin rush.
>>691035244
sure it is. you think because you put a hole in a menacing piece of paper it's the same. you've never been in a high stakes situation with running, crazed targets.
Do you think they make bullets specifically for people like they do for bucks?
>>691035659
yeah this is fantasy bullshit.
>>691035681
How would you know what I've been through, friend?
>>691033412
Not that I disagree with that, but Islam is bigger than just fascism. It's an immutable, authoritarian, all-consuming way of life that seeks to rule over every aspect of an adherents life. Fascism wishes it could be Islam.
Everything that terrorist wackos have been doing isn't just justifiable under Islamic law, it's sanctioned in the mainstream and justified by God. It's a form of fanaticism that no other major religion can match.
>>691034177
>PC horseshit is just a fantasy
Yeah, I guess the DHS being ordered by the Obama adminstration to purge their records of anything related to Islam (of which there was a lot) was just smart strategy. Ft. Hood, Boston, San Bernardino, and now Orlando all happened after that. All were perfectly preventable because DHS had a huge amount of Intel on the networks that ended up committing those attacks.
>gun deaths
>not overall violent crime
Wew lad
>>691035771
because of the nonsense you're spewing. sure if the target is on the ground kneeling right in front of yout hen yes, the handgun is better to kill. it's easier to defend in close quarters. but when you're across a gay dance hall, fuck no, the handgun is pretty much useless. even if you hit, it ain't a kill shot.
>>691036027

yeah that is right wing propaganda nonsense, thank you
>>691036030
>but when you're across a gay dance hall, fuck no, the handgun is pretty much useless. even if you hit, it ain't a kill shot.
>accuses others of "spewing nonsense"
I work at a range and I have a few suggestions OP, first being, don't buy that AR, it's decked out with cheap ass tacticool gear that looks swanky but in reality, is crap. Suggestion two, consider building your own from a stripped or complete lower, it's not very difficult and with 1500 you could build a much higher nicer rifle than the one you posted. Finally, if you're not comfortable with the idea of building your own, try to buy a complete one from a local gun store so you don't have to have it transferred, while the transfer fee may not be much depending on what FFL you go through you'll most likely save a few dollars.
>>691036030
You really think being shot by a pistol at 20 yards isnt going to do anything?
>>691022523
Most people don't need a $1500 AR. They need a $600 AR and $900 worth of training.

Start small man get your self a 22 so you can become familiar with firearms IMO get a ruger 10 .22 it's super customizable, has relatively cheap ammo when you can find it, and it fun to shoot. Then once you got it down and have saved up a bit more move on to a hand gun . A glock 19 is a good start it's 9mm and is easy to use and care for and is not expensive also has so attachments you can add.
>>691036134
It's all right-wing propaganda nonsense. The email server is propaganda. Nobody died in Benghazi. The government is your friend and wants you to live a happy, fulfilling life. They certainly don't want to disarm you while keeping a stable of armed bodyguards at their own backs.
No, sirree.
but seriously. It's all pretty well-documented, and you do have the internet at your disposal.
>>691036454
oh it'll hurt. you might be down for the count. but unless he got really lucky or unless he walks up to you while down and takes the kill shot, yeah, you won't necessarily be dead. unless he holds off the aumbulances for hours or whatever.

>robust
God damn it you sound so stupid when you keep parroting that buzzword.
Here's the deal: the terror watch list is unconstitutional as fuck. You're supposed to be given due process and the right to a trial and appeals process if you're accused of a major crime like that. The terror watch list is made in secret and you're never notified if you're on it. .gov can put you on for any reason they want.
From an Intel perspective that makes sense. You don't wanna let a potential terrorist know you're on to them, you want to keep catching them doing stuff and letting them lead you to more people in their network. You don't drop the hammer until you decide it's no longer worthwhile to remain hidden.
But that also creates enormous issues for our civil rights, because, again, the 5th Amendment makes all of that shit illegal as fuck.
So no, it's not okay to just throw away someone's rights because they're under an investigation. They haven't been convicted of a crime yet. There hasn't been any due process followed that justifiably can strip them of their rights because they're guilty of something heinous.
>>691037079
So we're even, then.
>>691037090
try to get an assault weapon and you'll know you're on it. that's how it shoudl work.
>>691036386
Adding on to what I just said, that rifle is worth all of $600 at most (in my opinion) and they're charging almost $900
All the accessories and the cheapest to be had.
It's a blatant ripoff most likely steaming from the panic steering up in the gun world right now
>>691022523
Do the transfer through a reputable, high traffic gun SHOP, not just some guy with an FFL. They will know exactly what's needed in your town/county/state.
Call your town clerk and ask about storage laws in your home. Do it right.
(I'd call my local sheriff and let him know what you have,as a courtesy. You'd be surprised how far that simple step would help you).
Practice
Practice
Practice
>>691036505
I have trained a lot of new people coming into guns. I actually recommend the AR-15 now as your first gun. It's still just a 22 but you will not out grow it in two weeks ;)
>>691036386
Alright, thank you. OP is still here taking suggestions. thank you all for your help so far.
>>691022828
Hopefully, you're right. But he wants it, and has a right to it.
>>691037090
felons don't get guns.
in fact i'm fine with giving felons guns.
i doin't even have a problem with personal vendettas, revenge and jealousy. that shit is going to happen. even business rivals will occasionally be killed. it happens.
i just think the indiscriminate, mass shooters should not be able to buy assault weapons. whatever we need to do to make that happen needs to be done.
>>691037333
>Call your town clerk and ask about storage laws
The gun shop has to tell you this by law.
>I'd call my local sheriff and let him know what you have,as a courtesy
No, there's no reason for this what so ever
>>691022523
Why the fuck would you even consider buying that machine of mass destruction after 49 were killed by it in Orlando recently? A Daily News reporter actually got temporary PTSD from firing it, and for good reason. It is a ghost gun. It has the capability, with a 30 cal. magazine clip, to disperse 30 bullets in half a second. Thats 30 magazine clips... in half a second. So think about that the next time you try and use your outdated 2nd amendment to buy one of these death machines.
>>691036386
I like this guy. I would avoid an AR at first start with a 22 rifle to get familiarize with firearms but it's all up to the person so if they want to go "big" take this dudes advice >>691022523
>>691036134
>right wing propaganda nonsense
Ahahahahaha sorry, is the cog-dis too much for you to handle?
Read See Something, Say Nothing and come back to me if you can work out an actual refutation. Until then, you're just a retarded normie.

no thanks. i don't like to read propaganda, sorry. i guess you do. but i think that just makes you dumb. offense meant. you are dumb.

>assault rifle
probably the most misunderstood word in the English language
>"assault" rifle means it's used for an "assault"
>WWI guns were "rifles" or "battle rifles"
>"assault" rifle usually comes about during WWII with the German Sturmgewehr 44 because it literally translates to "storm rifle" or "assault rifle."
>Americans actually had a better assault rifle during the interwar period - going back to WWI - but didn't want to use it because the 'technology' could fall into enemy (or even friendly) hands
>StG44 was actually not even as good as the FG42 German rifle, though as the name (Fallschirmjaeger Gewehr) implies, it was mainly used by paratroopers and not widely available
>US was using M16 as a select-fire weapon through Vietnam
>AR15 (AR=Armalite) actually predates the M4, which was derived from the M16
>AR15 is just a very good, ahead-of-its-time semi-automatic weapon
>semi-automatic meaning it fires as fast as you can pull the trigger
>automatic means you can juts hold the trigger
>semi-auto rifles were around before WWI even, they just weren't as flashy
>AR15 just looks intimidating because most people recognize the M4 rifle used by many militaries around the world
>M4 and M16 are derived from the AR15, not the other way around
>AR15 is not a military weapon given to the public
>literally the exact opposite
>>691037775
I'll buy two AR's just for you. <3
>>691036839
And? Obama is directly responsible for thousands when you look at his drone campaign and co-operation with groups like CAIR in paralyzing our own homeland security apparatus to the extent that things like San Bernardino, Ft.Hood, Orlando, and Boston even happen.
More, depending on how hard you look into Libya and if you count ISIS or not.
Fun fact: Benghazi was the port the CIA was using to smuggle weapons into Syria to be used by groups that later became ISIS.
>>691037775
>It has the capability, with a 30 cal. magazine clip, to disperse 30 bullets in half a second. Thats 30 magazine clips... in half a second.
literally 0 understanding of guns, how guns work, or how the rate of fire is determined
>>691037406
Lol it's about the person ... but you can never out grow a 22 it's a must have in any gun collection it's so versatile you can hunt big and small game, while it's not ideal for home defense it can meet that role, and if you're at the range it's just fun to lay out rounds. But honestly it's a stepping stone gun people should end up with a larger rifle at some point .
>>691038772
drones are a new technology fag lord. every president would have used it and everyone from now on will definitely use them. obama happened to be the president when they became viable. W used them a bit too.
>>691037249
So you're okay with having a right restricted without any due process?
What's to stop secret courts from suspending your first, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and fourteenth amendment rights as well? "Terrorist" is an incredibly broad term and a lot of things that you think are benign, like posting here, could get the wrong people to look at you as one.
>>691039301
you can't propel little bits of metal through as many human bodies as possible with a speech.
>>691037601
So what do you propose then? Prescribe?
The one solution is to actually let DHS and the FBI do their jobs again. Another is to deport anyone tied to a Muslim interest group because almost all of them are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood somehow.
>>691039632
most mass shooting were white people. that's a dumb argument.
yes, get the government to do their jobs.
>>691038190
>hasn't even read it
>already knows it's "propaganda"
What isn't propaganda in your eyes, then?
>>691038878
It depends on the situation of course. But I see so many people firing the Ruger 10/22 for two weeks and then selling it to the next person for his kids to use. Any more I just bring my own 22LR and the get boarded with it after a short time and they save $250.
>>691037710
The second part varies by state and locale. Back home there's no registration, but it was considered good form to tell the local PD when you bought something. Not sure why, I don't think it was a law at all, just a thing everybody did.
>>691039301
Yes, if you're posting threats against groups or individuals yuo should not be allowed to have an assault weapon. truth.
>>691038453
This.
>>691031547
RIGHT!
Um...we could use clairvoyants to show us who!
>>691039832
everything else you posted was propaganda, why wouldn't this be? yuo provide no source, nothing.
>>691039212
Bush used them, but not to the extent that Obama has. Obama ramped up the program exponentially and broadened the definition of "combatant" such that just about anyone could be killed and counted as a terrorist. Made it really convenient when a nearby hospital or school got fucked up as well...you can just say you got more "combatants."
Nobody's even arguing about Reagan. You bringing him into this debate thinking that it's some kind of good point just means you don't know a lot.
>>691040133
Right, because mean words are now a crime.
>>691040233
no need for that. this guy in orlando was already investigated. we just need to make sure that leads to him not being able to buy these assault weapons.

>>691040353

>>691040380
threats and mean words are two different thing entirely.
>>691040353

>>691024408
What a stupid fucking comment... It just makes no sense.
>>691039612
You can motivate someone to pull the trigger with a speech. Hatred is what gets the guy to take up arms and murder dozens in the first place.
Words and ideas, and peoples' differences over them, are exactly what motivates an enormous chunk of the violence we've seen throughout most of human history.
Ideas have killed more people in the last century and a half than all other non-natural causes combined. Hell, Marxism and its attempts at revolution worldwide have killed at least 100,000,000 people.
Words are incredibly dangerous things.
>>691040412
Dude, he was investigated and the charges were dropped. The FBI investigates tons of people - being investigated years ago shouldn't bar you from your rights unless you were proven to have committed a crime.
I'd be cool if the investigation prevented you from buying a gun while it was going on, but after it was over? If they didn't find anything, I better be able to do what I want.
>>691022523
Why would anyone buy a metallic blue armelite? You know reflections will reveal your position and the brightblue color is like the worsed camo ever...so if you are really planning to defend yourself or your constitutional rights with a firearm, why do you buy a shiny nigger-canon?
Serious question btw.
>>691041198

>>691041327
yeah and as long as he doesn't have an assault weapon, then we have to accept that possibility. but if he joins a terrorist group or professes anti-US sentiment so much that his friends call the FBI on him then we need to make sure he doens't get these assault weapons.
it's pretty simple.
>>691041381
I would never still be okay with that, even while it's in progress.
There is nothing to stop the government from randomly opening an investigation into anybody, then dragging their feet for 2 years to fuck you over
>>691041398

>>691022523
You want a Smith and Wesson M&P15, a Primary Arms MD-ADS red dot, a Surefire G2X light on a Viking Tactics polymer light mount, some spare 30 round mags, and however much WOLF Gold .223 you can buy with the remainder of that 1500. This is a great budget set up.
>>691041876
>Not guilty but keep guns away from him
How is this hard to get?
You cannot deny people rights without due process, which means a conviction with a fair trial
I would rather my enemy has the same right to a weapon as I do rather than I have no right to any weapon at all.
>>691040588
Not really, I actually kinda do. Drone strikes have been too indiscriminate and have created far more terrorists than they ever removed.

Most shootings in the USA have nothing to do with Islam though...
Trying to blame all problems on Muslims is just as retarted as people who try to blame them all on gun control.
Try blaming lack of mental health services, certain kids be left behind in school, poverty, parents having no clue how to raise their children, alcohol and drug abuse.
>>691042203
what makes you think you can do better than an off duty police officer? because there was an armed one at the orlando shooting. he was able to do nothing to stop the guy.
