It's SO easy to be detached from it until it actually affects people you care about in ways that you never see in media. These assaults affect the victims for their entire life and this kid's parents are concerned that he doesn't like steak anymore or that his swimming career is over. Anyway, I understand your vitriol toward those who would exploit or sensationalize things like this but I don't feel as though you know enough about how victims are actually affected by these types of assaults.
