Corrin was infinitely better than Chrom, as were all the prince/princess characters. Personally I liked Ryoma, Takumi, and Camilla most out of the royalty. I disliked most of the heavy armor wearing characters mostly cause they looked fucking dumb. Kellam included.

Aye, incredibly slow and dull days ahead. SF is fun but it's not for everyone, you have to actually like fighting games to be able to enjoy it.
When Juri's eye glows, it means she's activated her FSE. It basically provides an enormous boost to all of her abilities to the point where she becomes ridiculously strong, the only drawback is that Juri cannot maintain it forever as it takes an enormous strain on her body.
Canon wise, she's shown to be faster then bullets and strong enough to destroy reinforced, militarized steel doors with nothing but her bare feet all while hardly even trying. Juri is essentially limitless inside it's activation but if she doesn't finish the fight quickly it'll end up leaving her exhausted and vulnerable.

Well, you've already played SF right? That should tell you alone if you like it or not, back in 2010 I hardly ever touched any fighting games, but when I saw Juri I essentially lost my fucking marbles and she made me want to git gud.
