Morningrise is best (growl) vocals. Fictitious, poetic type lyrics.
Orchid is most evil.
BWP best production quality and bass.
Lopez is a beast drummer. Ghost Reveries, Deliverance, Still life are all evry good. Lengthy tracks, but very musical in many parts.
I like Mikael too. Sings and plays the guitar. I like to picture him performing live in their heavier songs.. having to play guitar and basically scream simultaneously.

I used to love Dream Theater to death when I was a teenager.
I look back now, the lyrics and themes are the cringiest shittiest self-important stuff around. The technical mechanics are a bit hit or miss, sometimes they're well-crafted and interesting, sometimes they just seem complicated for the sake of being complicated.
All that being said, Scenes From A Memory is probably their best album, if only because it's a cool story and of course it has "Home" in it.

Dream Theater =/= musical virtuosity. Great starter band if you're a musician looking to play antiquated dynamic/progressive music.
