Ya it's actually a lot easier than you think. The first step is to download a launcher (now this changes the look of omyour phone, a bit. If you don't want that, maybe look elsewhere). Personally i use the Nova launcher (I paid for it, but you can get the free version). After that, download an icon pack from the store (i use the glim icon pack (premium version has even more icons)). Go into your launcher settings and equip that icon pack. These a lot more to do, but those are just the basics my hope that helped

So rooting voids your warranty and I definatly would not do that if I were you cause you don't seem the most android savvy (if you know apple, it's the equivalent of jailbreaking). There are no downsides to downloading a launcher other than the look changes. Idk what kind of phone you have, but if you tell me I can refer you to a launcher that will keep it similar. The main differences are in functionality and appearance, though.

Yea. The premium version helps, but I don't think it's needed. Maybe just give it a shot? It'll definitely clean up your device. As well, the Google now launcher provides for a more stock Android like experience, but you cannot change icons or do many things that Nova allows. One of my favorite features in nova is the ability to hide apps from the app drawer. Away, bloatware. Anything else I can help you with?

Sorry for late reply, OP here. I use nova launcher which allows me to change my icons and where they can be placed. I use an icon pack called Device, it costs money but I just downloaded the apk off of Google. The battery indicator is call Battery Widget Reborn.
