Joined a team for a tournament here in Mexico and that put me in a kinda bad spot (no communication from the team, was notified of games 30 minutes before they started, we got passed the wildcard and they kicked me).

Just listen to what people say and read item descriptions. The over-arching plot and the history of the major characters are easy to find and understand. He's mostly a roamer, though he's been getting a steady stream of nerfs to his Jinada, so he's no quite as strong as he was a patch ago. Also the most recent patch reduced the gold bounty he gets from track, so not as much of a feared gold boost from deaths. Still loads better than playing him offlane though.

Well, that depends on what lane you're in. If you're completely zoned out cuz they have a faggot lion/skywrath/ogre magi that thrives off of harassing you, and you happen to be in the radiant side, put your wards to use in the offlane hard camp, push the wave and pull to next wave to the dire hard camp, ask for a rotation and harass the cheeky fuck that harassed you.
If you're dire side in that same boat, you can also try to pull from the radiant hard camp, but it's loads harder, and the offlane hard camp is way further from the t1 tower, so don't solo off as veno on dire unless you know you can stay at LEAST in exp range.

You can play him as a support, yeah. Force staff, glimmer, GG boots. 15s 50% ms slow at level 1 is no joke. As far as magic resist items go, there are also magic amp items (we LoL now), but both the magic resist and magic amp items are fairly expensive for a support that doesn't get a great start, so it's not much to worry about.
