MEPS in Lansing Michigan. I have friends already in the Air Force. I also am an exercise fag. Why so much drinking and (lack of) pussy
>>686229621
you get to meps early as fuck. everyones confused because they don't know whats going on. you sign in or some shit (its been a while so i don't remember everything) and you just start doing tests. ASVAB, color blindness test, make sure your paperwork is correct and then a full physical. if one thing in your paperwork is out of order they stop the process and you just sit there until your group finishes. then you have to call your recruiter and tell them what happened. for tips i would recommend the simple shit: have all your paperwork in order, don't bring pocket knives, don't be a retard and just follow directions. i actually swore in twice because i was a dumbass and went to the wrong room. i also went thru meps 3 times because my paperwork wasn't correct
>>686230196

>CCAF
A real shit show. Try to get into test pilot school in Colorado or California if you want a real good time doing your job. Also AFRL was a good time for a desk-job rdt&e.
I'm really interested in joining the air force, but still can't decide if it would be the right choice for me.
>22
>worked as a computer tech for last 5 years
>Associates degree with entry level certs
1) cant decide whether to go back for bachelors before joining, or take advantage of free education while in
2) bought a house 1.5 years ago so would need to sell or rent while enlisted, renting it might be a cluster fuck
3) had knee surgery when I was 16 so I hope that doesn't disquallify me??
> any advice appreciated
>>686230558
i did lol not OP though i leave in 12 days
>>686230989
You get free education benefit even as a civilian airman as long as it's related to your eventual position. As long as you can do all of the pt stuff the knee shouldn't be an issue.
>>686230989
you can always go back to school when you get out with the GI bill and post 9/11.
>>686231124
That's it boy! Canadian infantry here. The infantry course is one of the hardest in the army (excluding sof 'n shit)
Tough times, but so rewarding once you look back at it. Also good memories

i went US army going airborne after AIT

BMT Protips:
-Lay low, the longer they(the TI's) go without knowing your name the better.
-Remember to have fun, it's a once in a life time experience. Yeah its going to suck a lot at times but try to keep a positive attitude and it'll be over before you know it.
-Stay away from shitty people. You're starting a new life. You don't want to start it off on the wrong foot by getting involved with dinguses.
-If you think it's a bad idea dont do it. A lot of people get recycled(held back) and kicked out during BMT. Being held back a few weeks is the last thing you want.
Tech School Tips:
-DONT BUY A CAR
-Start saving your money
-DON'T GET MARRIED
-Stay focused, a lot of ppl go wild during tech school and get into a lot of trouble.
-Dont be a dingus
Job tips
-Dont be a stellar airman. Just do your job and that's it. Once you start being a super hero they start expecting a lot from you and give nothing in return.
-Keep saving money
-Do your 4 years and get out.
-Use your GI bill.
OP here. I'll be starting off as an E3. Anything I should know before signing the contract. Tips you wish someone told you.
Whatever you do, do not join Security Forces
>>686232296
Thanks alot. I'll follow these tips to the bone.
>>686232435
idk about air force but starting army basic as an e3 meant you had more responsibilities. dude it will be easy, just don't be a jack wagon
>>686232296
great tips. Thanks!
what do you do if you want to get around but have no car where your stationed, is it possible to take your current one with you to where you go?
>>686228071
Do not put Security Forces or Services as your potential AFSC or you will get them instead of anything else 100% of the time
>>686233281
Just what I was wondering. I'm expecting to get commissioned in as an officer and I just got a brand new fucking car and I don't want to sell it qq
>>686233281
yes. sort of. if your married and you get stationed overseas (hawaii) then you can ship it to your duty station and back on government expense. but if your stationed state side then you gotta drive it to your duty station
>>686228071
Nothing to fear from MEPS unless you're blind, deaf, overweight or didn't clean you asshole for the Dr to play with..
>>686229845
Yep, this is a thing now (so long as he wraps up tech)
>>686233738
road trips are fun :^)
What are the best jobs in your opinion. Scored an 86 on asvab. How's being a contractor?
>>686228071
Just got out of basic a little over a month ago. People will tell you to not volunteer for anything, they're pussies who want to make it easier on themselves and skate by. Volunteer for everything you can and be good at what you're doing. Make a name for yourself and stand out, it'll make it tougher for you but if you're not a bitch then you'll be better for it. BMT is a joke nowadays, it's way too easy. Make the most of it because this is a once in a lifetime experience. And don't put general anything for your AFSC, you'll get boned every time. If your asvab score was decent you can get a solid job (unless you want security forces). Good luck, faggot. Try not to be one of the ones that kills themself.
I failed my first MEPS because I couldn't complete the duck walk. If you fail at something, take it seriously and dedicate your time to what you failed. Also, everyone in every other branch is going to say "chair force" and laugh at you, the military as a whole has an extremely tame and cheesy sense of humor, it's almost child appropriate, at least for what I can vouch for in the AF. You'll learn to find humor in it when you see how incredibly depressing and mentally conformed everything is.
Also, by week three in your BT, everything gets a lot easier.

>don't hang out with shit bags
>>686228071
Same here, Scored a 86 on my ASVAB
>>686232296
Actually... Id do the exact opposite.
Have fun at bmt, the mtis are fun as fuck, i actually think being cocky and fun is a requirement fir mtis.. the more they know you the better. Dont be stressed because they yell, theyll yell even if everything is 100% perfect just to have a laugh with other mtis later.
Also, stick with douchebags all the way, just don't do drugs or anything illegal, dress better than them, and follow instructions by the book. Your career will be more rewarding since you'll get better assignments than your peers, as opposed to seeing them get the position you want. Be a leader and mentor them. They'll get out in 4 years, you'll make it to e9 if that's what you want.

>>686233281
You can use public transportation or you can rent a car, even if you're not 25(perk of being military). If your car is within a certain distance of the tech school base I believe you're allowed to get it. Just keep in mind that you'll be going elsewhere after you finish tech school. Where you're going depends on your job and availability, and you wont be knowing what base you get till a few weeks before finishing school.
How was deployment?
>>686234869
Did 4 years in the Marines as a 0331. Got out as a Cpl and since I didn't have shit else to do I figured I'd might as well re-enlist somewhere else. Randomly chose special operation weather team & security forces as fail safe should I not pass selection. Thankfully I have, still got another 19 weeks of training left so not out of the woods yet.
>>686235708
Are you enjoying it so far
>>686233281
Bmt no car.
Tech school, you can have it there, but you can't drive it outside a 300 (i think) mile radius, so if your car is that far away, someone will have to ship it to you.
First duty station: if you're overseas it may be hard to take it. If you're state side, drive that mofo. Also try to avoid TMO to ship stuff, rent an uhaul and make money with a do it yourself move
>>686235911
yeah it's cool I've learned a lot so far and I haven't even made it yet. Might get better or worse if I end up making it to teams,

Hey, anyone who's actually in the Air Force wanna confirm something for me ?
This pot head was discharged from the Air Force because he supposedly failed a "test they give you
that confirms you've learned your skills," that comes way after basic training and schooling, he was
already in his office and what not and working and he says thats the reason why he's no in it.
A lot of people have claimed bullshit and some even said that it was a drug test he failed that got him kicked
out but to this day I give him the benefit of doubt.
air force easy as fuck and privileged as shit. its the harvard of the military. be prepared to walk through pt and skate.

>>686236206
dumb question, say you get stationed out of the country , say Europe. I chose to bring my f350 truck, are we subject to thier emission laws, other random shit like that. Obviously parts harder to get etc, do most people in that case just buy a different vehicle or motorcycle I'm sure would be my next go to probably
I'm on my 7th year of service in the Air National Guard. Look it up man. All the perks of regular Air Force, but significantly more choice and freedom.
Also, if you can try to get something with a security clearance. I use my clearance as part of my day job, and I make about $90k.
>>686236590

in the air force you take two test. one for job knowledge and the other for usaf history etc..all designed to gauge you at higher level. if you fail the exams twice. your on your way out. Especially true since downsize is happening at a crazy rate.

There are tests associated with promotions in rank, and you're only allowed so much time in any lower rank. If you can't be promoted due to failure, at some point you will be discharged.

It's all about conditions. Pay is based solely off rank. Flight line jobs dont pay extra but you work longer hours (unless you're on F-35), outside, whatever hours you get told to work, and at the end of the day you not likely to get rewarded unless you've never gotten into trouble.
Always remember that doing more work just means more chances to fuck up.

What AFSC's do you guys recommend? I'm so far looking at very arbitrary things, like
Loadmasted
Aircraft Structural Maintenance
Low observable
In flight refueling
Aircraft armament systems
Photographer
I have a pretty good electronic and mechanical understanding and like working with my hands but I also want to be able to do somewhat cool stuff or at least consider flight positions. What do?
Also why does SF have a such a bad rep other than glorified security guard.
10 year air force vet here.
Air Force is easy just go to school and keep the drinking at bay. Other than that welcome to pc circus.

Neither.

>>686241132
You get what they give you. Air Force just throws you in what ever slot they need the most. It's not like other services that guarantees jobs. Air Force don't need you, you need the Air Force.
>>686240914
I've been at my unit long enough to promote twice, and in that time the only people who've ever really been rewarded were the lazy fucks who made a point to do the least amount of work possible. Meanwhile the hardest workers get jack shit, since ten times the work means ten times the mistakes, and that's all anybody looks at
>>686241366
Okay, that changes things I suppose. Usually one will end up cheating on the other. Even in basic training. They find ways.
>>686241440
Yeah but I can go for garunteed job or garunteed aptitude, I'm willing to the wait the 6-12 months.
>>686241132
avoid anything with the word aircraft
Been in for about 9 months now. Still waiting on training and my casual job is a joke so I basically get paid to drink and sleep. Good times.
>>686241729
Same enlist guy here, why do you say that? Aircraft loadmaster for example is pretty awesome jf you're okay with the sitting in a jumpseat travelling all day and night lol
>>686241132
If you want something cool, look up Unmanned Aerospace System (UAS) Sensor Operator.
You're basically the cameraman for the drones, get to wear a flight suit, get flying status benefits and get to watch people die.
Have a buddy who currently does it and loves the shit out of it.
Don't believe the hype, sign up for security forces, but make sure you go to college for something else entirely. This way you get a lifetime of amazing stories based on your 4-6 year enlistment and can still be a productive member of society upon separation.
>>686241492
I understand you perfectly . Right now there's a fucking incompetent fat fucking e6 yammering away about something stupid while I'm typing this. Don't get discouraged just work hard and ignore the retards if you can. They always ALWAYS step on their dicks, just a matter of time.
Are any of the medical MOS good?
>>686242339
That's where all the cute chicks work.
>>686241440
Sorry to bust your bubble but your choice of dream Mos jobs are a pipe dream. They will fill slots of maintenence and other shit jobs first because of low manning. Guys like load masters never get out. Also waiting for a year is a gamble the military changes their mind on shit everyday. Good luck though
>>686242339
Lots of responsibility. Takes a better man than me especially if you end up being a line medic.
>>686228071
Don't talk unless spoken too. Yes sir, yes ma'am.
Wear underwear, you'll be grouped up in s room of 10-15 other dudes and doctors will come in and make you preform exercises.
You'll have your blood drawn, a piss test preformed while a dude looks at your dick, breathalyzer, hearing and vision done. You have a private exam with a gender same doctor.
You'll wake up at 4:30 am and probably won't get done until 3 pm
When I did mine everyone was a complete asshole. I showed no respect and they hated me. It was very slow, we only had around 30 other dudes and 20 girls.
It will go faster or slower depending on the MEPS location and how many people are testing that day.
Wear casual clothes and wash your body.
Bring your head and expect to wait
>>686242583
Don't forget to wipe your ass.
>>686242033
Maybe loadmaster is different, but the maintenance fields are all shit. The responsibility of keeping a fighter jet from killing the pilot and possibly everyone around it is not reflected in your benefits. not to mention you will lose some or all of your hearing and depending on the airframe have serious leg/back problems later in life
>>686242544
Are the line medics on the front line? (not scared just asking). Also what do you mean it takes a better man.
>>686242846
yeah they gonna look at your butt hole

you won't swear in until you have a slot at basic

>>686243382
What I still can't hear you age equipment and F15 running at the same time!
>>686243116
Welp, better off myself now.
Really not looking for fueling or something tediously boring mechanical or some shit, man. I mean it's still AF and everything associated with it but I'm going to kind of assume if I don't get somewhere near my dream sheet, it's the shithole everyone isn't signing up for thAt I'm going to end up with. Logic in that is that any other jobs in betwee, are also other people's dream jobs, no one that isn't open intentionally asks for the shit jobs. Sounds like the lottery of if I'm going to hate myself or not.
>>686242887
Usually yeah. I'm a scout and we have our own medic that's completely organic to us. He does everything we do for training or deployment plus any cls shit if necessary. Very intelligent , very weird and usually strong as fuck despite of their appearance. And what I meant was, that it's an enormous responsibility , combat or otherwise. It's ok if your scared tho, just don't let it affect your judgement.
>>686243019
Well there are a few ways to bypass this.
Join the army, where your job is guaranteed.
Don't swear in at MEPS, they'll make some bullshit excuse.
Find a job and have your recruiter lock it in. It could take months to get it, beware.
I've heard shit from buddies in the marines and airforce who had the chair pulled underneath them after their basic was done.
It's a gamble but generally if you score higher on your ASVAB, the better job you would get.
Lower ASVAB scores are generally assigned to maintenance, labor and combat moses.
Scored a 91 mechanical on asvab. Wanted Hvac got Ammo. Fml but I still had fun and made lifelong friends and even this dumb ammo troop got out and got a college degree.

>>686244276
"Have my recruiter lock it in?" how would one work this out.
Having my recuiter keep an eye out for slots and get me to uproot everything as soon as it opens and go for it right then and there or?
>>686244913
Yo how was basic? I heard you PT inside buildings and do all your shit indoors?
I was going to join the navy until I heard of that, instead I joined the Air Force.
>>686244276
Nigga I scored a 91 and I'm a scout. While its correct that combat mos have lower requirements it would be dumb to assume it's full of idiots. Unless your in the infantry. Last deployment an 82nd bang bang was pulling security on a tree 20 meters from him in the middle of a street , with his sniper rifle WITH the optics cover on....
OP here. My recruiter said that I pick my job at MEPS. He said that he couldn't pick it for me and that they give me a list of job that I chose. I get to pick whatever Jobs that are available at MEPS. He also said that guaranteed contracts are hard to come by and it's best to go open general. How do I get a contract before MEPS or before basic
>>686245233
Recruiters can "lock in" jobs for up to 7 days.
It basically puts a hold on the seat until you swear in and sign the dotted line.
After you sign that contract make sure to confront, that it's the job you wanted.
If it's not the job you wanted then you need to tell the MEPS liaison that you need to speak with your recruiter.
You can have any job you want in any branch, but that doesn't mean they'll say you can have it at the signing.
Some recruiters will look out for your specific job, others won't.
>>686245233
Ha ha I remember I was in dep for 9 months because I had a ton of tickets and bullshit when I was a kid. The recruiter called me up one morning and told me to get on the bus to meps or I wasn't getting in. I packed my bag and left and the the rest is history.
>>686245783
Holy fuck BEFORE. I went to recruiting school a few years ago . Never EVER go open , it's 100% possible to lock your job down before you go to meps. Don't let that asshole Fuck you anon. Pick the job you want .
>>686245669
A 91 percentile and your a cav scout. That totally seems plausible.
I bet people laugh at you.
>>686244694
You know the one AFSC that hasn't been affected by "right-sizing"? Security. He'll still get a bonus in the 40k range and if you arent a shitbird, its a fun job. Also he can work mids and go to college like a normal person while hes in.
>>686245370
What? Too hard for ya? Lol
Yeah, you PT indoors but not because it's too hard outside. They do it so that you can learn how to live for 6months at a time on a ship. In close ass quarters with no personal space.
You do everything in doors to learn how to be cooped up. It makes sense.
Air Force basic might as well
Just be a summer camp or some shit. What it is, 5 weeks?
>>686245783
I picked at basic and you don't pick that's bullshit. You get a dream sheet and you put down choices. Then they look at your dream sheet and wipe their ass with it and you end up in Minot patrolling nuke silos.
>>686228071
dont jerk off the night before your piss test otherwise you'll pop, it's fucking stupid but you will

>>686246479
Your recruiter is gonna spit coffee at you when he busts up laughing.
>>686246119
Is it lonely in basement you fat neet fuck?
Can someone explain the bad rep of SF to me?
Enlist guy here again. Not OP
>>686246513
>>686228071
air force is enlisted: easymode
you'll do fine
>>686246690
Ha ha how so? Can he or can he not lock in my job. I know it depends on the recruiter.
>>686246815
What bad rep? Knew a guy who was prior security forces . Good dude, had some crazy stories in Iraq . >>686246815
>>686246983
Literally everyone is like
"Whatever you do, don't do SF"
"SF is most overhyped job"
"Glorified security gaurd"
"Hate yourself"
>>686246622
74D CBRN
Why did you pick cav scout? Come on 91 is what people dream for
>>686246119
> scores a 30, mad because even the marines won't take him. Takes out his frustrations on people that are smarter than him.
Calm down little guy
>>686246815
SF sit at gate bust guys for Dui. SF go out and ruin the dorm party. SF guys usually get the most article 15's on base because they are mostly comprised of lowest common denominator just like civilian cops. Know this because all my friends are SF.
>>686246119
The jokes on you, it's a minimum of 31.
>>686246894
Most recruiters are lazy that would actually make him do some sort of work when he could be out getting his quota filled. If op is lucky he might have a good recruiter.
>>686247225
To be perfectly honest it was a little to rebel cuz I used to be a weak little nerd ( still am a nerd but not so weak anymore). I should have listened but I'm happy where I'm at now. Also the video they show you, God help me that fucking video....
>>686246509
Right on, imagine if you were a girl!
>>686246815
It all boils down to two things. People hate to be wrong about anything. If they're told they are wrong, theyll blame the authority over admitting a fuckup (Base pop hate). The second thing is lack of leadership in the career field. People progress on fucking other people over and it all rolls down hill. So you have a brand new airman getting called out to look stupid because his supervisor got yelled at for something inconsequential because his squad leader was late and mad etc...(self hate)
>>686247560
If I had a 91 I would have done nuke for the navy. Holy fuck man.
>>686247353
We get the most article 15s out of boredom. You kill 12 hours a day without getting in trouble.
>>686247969
I agree
>>686247353
This whiny shit is what i mean. Dont drink and drive ignorant cunt. 15 bucks for an uber.
>>686247702
I really wanted to know what combat was like . Figured it was the best way to go and still get some sort of creative freedom . When I finally got put in charge of my scout section it was totally worth it, up until then it was frustrating to have people over me that were literally fucking retarded. Still is but for the most part the higher you go in my mos the less retards there are. Except for my platoon Sgt. Dumb fuck was shooting with his fucking acog on BACKWARDS. Lord help me...
>>686248446
Make sure you have your reflective belt on.
>>686228071
Here's my advice, unenlist faggot
Want more AFSC suggestions.
Current dream sheet is
Aircraft Loadmasted
RPA/UAS Sensor Operator
In Flight Refueling
Photography
Flight positions are cool and stuff that seems interesting, but also I'm good at working with my hands don't mind travelling and am hella good with electronics. I build computers for fun and wire all my own shit in my car, granted I'm 18. Should I consider air traffic control? SF at its core seems interesting and I a very big firearms guy as well as it's ability to transition to contracting and police work, plus he'll after 2 years you can become a dog handler. But if I put SF on that dream sheet I'm gonna get it, goodbye other options.
What do.
>>686248950
Nothing you'll get what they'll give you and you'll like it.
>>686249203
Again, dream sheet you fucking asshole. I'm going to try for "I am in no rush in life, try to find a slot in these positions and hmu".
My recruiter said he will be willing to help me do this in my DEP.
Just got out of the AF.
All I have to say is FUCK Goodfellow AFB.
>>686248950
If you want a guaranteed position the air force isn't for you. Try the Army or Marines they'll take anybody and I mean anybody.
>>686248950
Eh, you probably won't get any of those to be honest.
But we can dream right?
>>686249486
You said dream sheet! You said recruiter will help you! My sides!
>>686249506
What you didn't like it? No way!
>>686228071
Army faggot reporting for duty.
First, why would you join the Air Force? It's for pussies.
Second, keep your story straight. You've never had a medical problem in your life. Don't let your career counselor pressure into a bullshit job like cook.
Third, do something cool.
I'm going to AF basic on the 7th. I am only in average shape (1.5 mile time is about 15:00, can only do about 20 pushups in a row, 40 situps). How fucked am I?
>>686240659
I was a 35H, my MOS doesn't exist anymore.
>>686249910
Name me 5 good things about Goodfellow AFB.
Pull the fuck out of whatever contract you're working on and go do ROTC/OTS.
Seriously, there is no reason not to get a college degree, then go in as an officer. You get more pay while having to do less work and deal with less bullshit. Plus AFROTC will likely pull you in for free through college.
>>686231757
I've heard a Canadian soldier only gets 49 rounds per year to train with. Is this true?
Don't murder whatever natives own the land your base is on.
>>686250247
What base?
>>686249557
Speaking for experience are we? Fucking idiot, go back to playing cod and eating tendies you sad faggot.
>>686250509
That's what I did man, life is good now
>>686250247
Enjoy the BeFit program.
>>686250019
>First, why would you join the Air Force? It's for pussies.
Because they get paid to live in the shit housing that you get, on top of being paid the same as you for doing less work in better conditions.
But hey, at least you're not a "pussy". Decisions, decisions, huh?
>>686248950
You know they call it a dream sheet for a reason. Just wait till you put in for your duty station, I hope you like Goodfellow Afb. Funny how your telling these vets all this shit you all of the sudden know how the military works. Just because you wire a car stereo and play on your computer has no bearing on how to operate in a military environment. I've seen plenty of you dreamer get chewed up and spit out when life and career don't go your way. Can't wait till you see the real Air Force.
>>686234809
I scored a 95. How can anyone not score above a 90 on that test? I failed algebra 2 twice and I still managed to nab incredibly high line scores.
>>686235708
Former Marine in the Air Force? Your life must be fun.
>>686250588
Lackland
>>686250817
Not sure what that is. I'm not a fatass, I just don't really work out much.
>>686250924
I scored a 55 and went in as Air Traffic Control.
>>686250371
It's not minot
It's not shaw
It's not elemedorf
It's not pope
It's not edwards
>>686250346
Holy shit. What the hell did you guys actually do? Seems like a whole lot of skills shoved into one job...
>>686250247
Literally failing EVERY criteria unless you're a woman.
You can walk 1.5m in 15 min, that ain't average shape.
>>686228645
Me too, ft jackson
>>686251066
AVIATION! I just enlisted as a 15Y. My initial contract was 15T, but MEPS fucked me over with a poor vision evaluation and the Army offered to let me work on Apaches instead.
By the way, I hear Air Traffic Control sucks.
>>686250920
I'm saying hey, I might be good enough to train in A or B, do you have any suggestions in electronics etc..not because I think I know the world fuckass..
>>686228071 I did 4 years and worked in ammo. It was basically a normal 8 hours a day, M-F job. Mid shift was the best because we mostly slept, watched movies or played video games in the middle of the night if nothing was going on. They are right about NOT wanting security forces unless you want to be a cop or something when you get out. They work everyday of the year including weekends and holidays and most of the time it's sitting around on a flight line watching parked jets. Or you can pull people over for speeding on base and shit like that (I was at a training base in Arizona so I'm not sure what it's like at other Commands' bases).
Even if you get stuck with a shit job, my philosophy was: sign up for the minimum term so if you hate it, you can be out ASAP. You'll get the GI Bill and be able to go to school while you're in for free and use that when you get out.
>>686251412
Ohhh niiice. At least you can get out and fucking bank bro. Good choice.
>>686250838
Nah, bruh, I'll basically be doing Air Force work anyways (aviation mechanic). I can't give you chair force warriors too much shit.
>>686251224
Now listen here, smartass.
Better question, what did you enjoy about Goodfellow?
>>686251412
It's really fucking stressful.
But the pride and fear that you have knowing that the lives of countless of thousands of people are on your hands every day is a feeling you cannot describe.
>>686251565
Thanks, dude. For a hot second, it appeared that my only other choice was 88M. Thank god there was one spot left for 15Y AIT.
>>686251418
There are a shit ton if electronic jobs and thet all don't relate to the flightline. You can wish all you want but dont get disappointed if you end up in a career field you don't want and can't crosstrain out of. And considering you say shit like hella how do you know if you can even make it through your tech school?
>>686251732
I'm just fucking with ya. I know Goodfellow sucks. Ha ha
>>686251732
Thanks for doing what you do, man. ATC sounds scary as fuck. I'll stick with helicopters.
>>686251498
I.Y.A.A.Y.A.S.
>>686249725
Rule #1 Trust your recruiter
Rule #2 Don't trust your recruiter
Welcome to contradictory nature of military service.
>>686252122
You're cheeky, but you know what's up.
>>686252177
Well, doing what I did. Got discharged a week ago and I wasn't doing ATC at the time, unfortunately.
Fuck personnel.
But thanks. Keep at it.
I've been trying to get into the AF since January. I already took the asvab and went through all the paperwork with my recruiter. I had an assult in the 4th charge that was dropped when I was 18 and my recruiters commanding officer forced me to get a bunch of letters of recommendation and refrences and shit. This is the most bullshit experience of my life. I hate the faggot commanding officer of my recruiter. I hope he gets bit by a rabid dog some day for making my life hell.
Blow one of the recruits they send you out with in the airport bathroom. Get your reputation as a mouthwhore out there before you get into basic and you will be queen slut of cock mountain by week two.
>>686251352
We sat in an air conditioned truck and watched movies on the SIPR.
>>686252488
Took me almost a year to get in, just expect bullshit.
>>686252461
What happened, if you don't mind me asking?
And will do. Can't wait to spend the next six years of my life in the Army.

"AMMO SUCKS"
T.C.A.B.C.
>Tfw you weren't in BMT during the Lackland scandal
>Tfw you'll never get sex from one of the female MTIs
>>686252456
Everything your recruiter says is true enough to not be completely false but false enough to not be completely true.
If your recruiter ever says they aren't sure about something assume the worst case scenario until you see powerful contrary evidence.
And finally: unless there's an official record somewhere, it's unproveable unless you admit to it. You've never tried liquor, cannabis, or tobacco.
>>686251965
It was in ironic fashion.
God forbid I make a silly on the internet.
>>686251364
Yeah no shit. How fucked am I though? Will the PT literally kill me, or does it start out easy and ramp up or something?
>>686253095
If your recruiter says "You'll love this job" you'll hate it. If they say "You'll get a 10k sign on bonus" you'll get a 10k sign on bonus at the stake of being an 88M.
Just go intel.
>>686253095
"Oh, yes, Anon, you will most definitely see the world. Joining the Army is like a study-abroad experience, but you get paid!"
Meanwhile, at Fort Sill...
>>686253324
It will kick your fucking ass until you get used to it. Suck it up and throw yourself into it. Couple of weeks and you will adapt. Just don't quit .
They are going to force you to convert to rightwing evangelical christianity and brainwash you. You wont be the same person coming out as going in.
I send my condolences to your friends and family.
>>686253374
Can't go intel. Too many skeletons in my closet that the Army knows nothing about. Sticking with a job which requires no security clearance.
>>686253324
Cardio cardio cardio
>>686253512
Keked more than I should have .
>>686253532
If it's not on paper somewhere it didn't happen.
>>686253720
Oh, boy. It's on paper. It's on many papers.
>>686252867
In short, they nitpicked every little screwup I did (coming into wok late, say, 3-5 minutes, room inspection failures with items being marked that were out of my control to fix multiple times, etc.), packaged it all together to either give to me as paperwork or send it up the chain so the commander could give it to me as paperwork, WITHOUT telling me what I did wrong beforehand so whenever I got it it was always a surprise, to the point where they discharged me for minor disciplinary infractions.
They never gave me room to breathe on this shit.
I don't know who's foot I stepped on when I got there, but it became apparent to me someone wanted me fucking gone.
And what pisses me off the most is that I hated my job, but I was fucking good at it. Our staff was way undermanned and they were standing to lose me and one other guy. I made the case to try to stay in so I could help my friends out, because now they're down to about 8 fucking people running the MPS floor, but they wouldn't hear it. They wanted me fucking gone.
>>686254655
Holy shit, dude. That's brutal. Did you at least get an honorable discharge?
>>686255011
>disciplinary infractions
>general under honorable conditions
>>686255011
Yeah, I did. It was a general, but I still get some benefits.
Fuck, it kinda sucks because I spent 3 years in the military but I feel like I didn't do anything of worth. Almost makes me feel ashamed when I tell someone I was in and they thank me for my service, like I don't deserve it.
>>686252395
this or security forces
Can I see a doctor after MEPS or is that a no no
>>686255968
Man you still have to crease your bdu. I thought they got rid of that shit.
>>686255968
ABUs, dat cover, ate the fuck up.
>>686254655
come one man, why you showing up late to work when its the easiest thing to do, Im sorry but you did that to yourself bro,
PO2 navy
>>686256763
>ate the fuck up.
pls bitch. this picture was taken before you were in the military
>>686256839
I've been early/on-time to work more times than I've been late.
Most times I would text my supervisor and they'd tell me "No, it's okay, you're fine." Then I'd see those same instances I was late on the paperwork I was getting.
I understand it's just NCOs doing their jobs but I cannot stand people who tell me that I'm in the clear then turn around put it in for paperwork. It's two-faced.
>>686256483
From my understanding you need any doctor signed paperwork prior to going to MEPS, which I have the 31st of this month. Such as having "broke my leg when I was 12", they want the paperwork to prove/show this. Then likely a waiver. Air force as well, did decent on the asvabs to do any job short of those requiring college degrees.
>>686257344
I'm saying if something happened and I needed to see a doctor before basic. Is that allowed
>>686228071
Almost 6 years in Air Force here... If you haven't picked your job yet... DON"T SETTLE FOR OPEN ANYTHING!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT. Also go into the job you want
