I've heald every imaginable position in restaurants but now follow BoH as a head chef.
Be attentive, be polite and cheery. Learn the menu inside and out, ask your kitchen manager questions about the menu.
Be willing to learn. Brush up on your knowledge of allergies and asshole cuck food preferences (gluten free non celiacs are the bane of my existence. ) learn to use the POS system properly and how your restaurant standardizes their memos for orders, such as additions, substitutions , basic modifications such as sauce on side and allergy warnings.
Suck every line cooks dick and let the head chef bang you in the walk in fridge.
