I've noticed that many people use their own methods of naming and sorting your pictures. I usually add the artist name at the end of whatever nonsense code gets generated for the file name so I can search by artist. Also got a separate folder which I keep all the unidentified pictures in.
How do you guys do it?

Wish I knew. I've started to tag all the things, but I'd have even more tags than picture.
Then I tried tagging them by species, scaly or not, and artist. Plus fetishes like vore, watersports, or whatever. But now I realized that I don't even have any idea what species a lot of my stuff is. And there's lots of fantasy species/colors as well.
So I've tried that for a week now and it just exploded. Nah, need another way.

After I stopped renaming my stuff like an autist, I just kept everything in one fuckhuge folder mostly unsorted. I goes like this: female, intersex, and male > clean and explicit > comics, flash, gifs, pics, and webms. The largest folder is my explicit female pics, over 33k and completely unsorted. I originally just saved everything from here and e621 - and occasionally u18 way back when but haven't been there in years - but now I'm starting to save stuff from FA because I can more easily find artists that way. It's still in my fuckhuge, unsorted folder, but I'll eventually start sorting by artist because it's such a pain in the ass not being able to find certain pieces.

I was the same way originally. Well, not for the first few days because I had deleted my first folder a week before remaking it (somewhere around 2k pics collected for 5 months), and regretted it immensely, so I saved somewhere around 2k in the first couple of days regardless of quality. Once I finally had my fix I started being much more picky. I eventually loosened up and now I'm at a grand total of 65k, 3.5 years later.
