I'm sorry but I think the show was at it's best when it was following the books more closely. It's easy to create a great TV show when you're following along a the story of a great book series, but I think it's showing that the show runners aren't as adept when it comes to creating new story arcs.
A lot of the plots are becoming too lazy in my opinion. Ramsey kills his Dad, and now he is in absolute contro, no one objectsl? The Dorne situation is ridiculous. The mistress of a dead man murders the lord of the land and no one bats an eye, The only good arcs still going are the ones that are still following the books: Jon Snow is going to recruit the North to fight instead of Stannis, Davos will probably go to Whiteharbor, Brianne will go to the Riverlands, Kings Landing is still fucked up (get hype). They even brought back the Iron Born after two seasons to bring that storyline back into sync. Still waiting to see about Dany and Mereen, the jury is out at the moment.

The thing is, up until this season, the differences haven't been too bothersome (besides the character assassination that was Stannis's last few episodes).. It's just starting to become apparent that the showrunners are starting to use more and more of their own ideas. I think that's why I liked this episode (I haven't read any pre-released chapters from WoW, so I don't know).

It's not really that good a show.
I only started watching because everyone said how good it was, and only continued because I'm a completion-ist autist.
The plot twists are fairly formulaic,and at no point have I seen any political "intrigue" bit that I didn't see coming from forty leagues away. The female characters are all written exceptionally poorly and are all either sluts/mental/irrational/mental-irrational-sluts. And the level of gratuitous tits is off the charts now.
There's far too much trading tits/ass/gore for real story and dialogue. A mate of mine actually told me that on set the network kept pushing it "hey... You know we can show full frontal... Put some in... Ratings ratings ratings"
Having said all of that, I do quite like Tyrion and Arya. They're probably the only two characters that have more than one dimension. Jamie Lannister too, though not really seen too much of his development since he got back to King's Landing.

lets look at the evidence.
2 times in the books we are told that the death of something you are warged into breaks your mind if you are still inside.
The Starks have the blood of Wargs in their family, and it stands to reason that if Hodor's father isn't ser duncan the tall, he likely is of the Stark bloodline of at least related. It has even been theorized that Hodor is himself a warg.
Now, rewatch that scene where Willis and Bran see each other, just before the door is held.
Bran is clearly not warging Hodor to hold the door. So who is.
My answer? Willis. He was warged into earier in the episode and this not only made him aware of Bran in the past, but made him aware of the peril he and bran were in in the future. Bran already demonstrated that it was possible to use Willis to warg Hodor. Willis hears the desperate cry of "HOLD THE DOOR" and understands everything, and this poor, innocent kid, has a moment of bravery beyond belief and Wargs Himself in the future. Willis Wargs Hodor.
Watch Hodor hold the door. He never screams. Never crys. Never Hodors. Because Willis is Holding the door. This innocent, chuby, sweet kid had a moment to step up and save a stranger, and he did. Willis rendered himself daft and suffered through his own future death (remember, being inside a warged creature when it dies drives you mad) all to save a Stark he barely knew.

Okay, seeing as you're too dense to think for yourself, here's what's not true:
-The plot twists are formulaic. GoT has quite a few unconventional plot twists, Hodor's death included.

Still seems more likely that Bran warged Wilys into Hodor. I don't know exactly how warging works of course, wether it's a case of assuming direct control, or if warging works in the form of overpowering suggestion.
If it's the latter, it'd make sense that when Bran warged Wilys, he basically planted Hodor's death in Wilys his mind, in a way saying "hold that specific door you don't know of until some decades later for this kid you will know one day".
So that's probably why Hodor didn't scream. All that was left in his mind was this very specific image of himself watching Bran being dragged away as he held a door and was torn to shreds, when he was there it must have finally clicked that that is what he was told to do that faithful day.

Hodor's death was not unconventional. Nor was the death of any other 'hero' character. There are a few main characters who are key, the other deaths serve as motivation for them. Hodor was nothing more than a crutch for Bran, and he was used as a tool.

Now that we know Bran is able to 'see' into the past and somewhat able to manipulate the past, sudden fucktons of fan theory surfaced.
Just like how the Three-eyed Raven trained Bran, Bran could go back in time and train other great Seers, possibly the original Brandon Stark, Bran the builder.
Some theorized that, our Bran is THAT same legendary Brandon of the old, the one that build the Wall and even the Winterfell, which was supposed to be unique and unlike any other castle.

That is not the same person, that is another person.
However our Bran Stark will somehow be able to manipulate that Brandon Stark the Builder to erect the wall.
Then he would find a great Seer like himself, if it's not Bran the Builder, it would be someone else. Basically he would start a chain of events that will eventually play out to what we're seeing today.
So in a way it's a loop. And it doesn't really matter what Bran Stark did, because everything will play out fine eventually.
It's like the parallel universe theory, every timeline has a different events, and each Bran will try his best to fix his world, and we the audience are fortunate to be in the correct universe where everything finally worked for Bran.

Thing is, yeah it's a little gratuitous, but I actually have very little reaction to nudity in general.
