We are closing in. Lets talk about this game. Thoughts? Theories? I can't wait any longer.
I've heard that one planet has a tentacle monster.
>>685878959
I have a theory... It's mostly about op, his sexual orientation, and how many male penises he has put into himself at one time.... Hmmmmm...?
>>685879400
I think we have the same theory.
>>685879400
Thank you.
>>685879616
>>685879400
>>685879616
Thank you
>>685878959
I've been waiting for this forever. its probably not gonna be as good as we think, but still, it seems awesome.
I wanna find some sand worms
>>685879935
its a never ending universe. it would have infinite dicks
someone will name the first planet something dumb like nigger jew or trump
>>685880149
Have you tried looking up your boyfriend's asshole, faggot?
>>685878959
Gonna be extremely disappointing. Just calling it now. A solid 7/10 that will get old in a week.
>>685880554
I'm single
Will be biggest let-down of 2016.
>>685880610
Sorry to hear that. Bet he wrecked your pooper before he left
>>685880590
>>685880723
This. This is what I'm afraid of. Saw a video of some gameplay with the developer and he talked a little bit about what it was supposed to be all about...what I got out of it was there's no story, no objectives, just straight exploration. I'm curious to try it, for sure. But I think I'm gnna have to wait til the price goes down.
>>685881156
>just straight exploration.
watch some other videos with people talking about it. they constantly say its not only exploration
>>685878959
I have some confidence in it.
The fact that sean is selling it as a "exploring" game kinda scares me. Basically another way of saying that you can't do much, its only for looking.
>>685878959
Will probably play the shit out of for like a week then never touch again once I am bored with all the bells and whistles
>>685878959
What's this game about? I'm building a new pc on thursday and i'm looking for new games.
>>685881364
Well I know there's a survival element to it, and you can gather resources and barter and even be a fucking space pirate if you want. But that's about it. Are people talking about there being more than that?
>>685881364
Not the same person you replied to, but his recent videos has him saying its mainly for exploring.
Shitty multiplayer.
It's going to be you floating around in space, discovering generated planets with the only difference being is a color palette swap, that you're going to name "Faget 1" and "Faget 2", kill some space dinosaurs and then get into a battle with some space pirates, all while having nothing to show for it because nobody is going to see you do any of that shit, or even experience it with you.
You'll get bored of it real fucking fast, I guarantee it.
>>685881926
you explore to find items to upgrade your ship and do stuff like that, but what people are worried about is that its gonna only be exploration just for the fun of looking at the planets. which its not
>>685882166
the only part I agree with you on is how they say youre gonna most likely never find any other players. that shit is stupid. but the rest of it will be fun
>>685881798
Have you seen this giant worm thing?
Supposedly there's a lot they aren't showing us and Sean is saying that things get bigger as you reach closer to the center of the galaxy.
There could be a tons of things he's not saying, but again, the "you can just do x y and z" thing is making me think this game is full of hot air.
>>685882278
Op here. There isn't going to be a storyline, there will be a lore. I think it will make multiplayer for valuable because of how limited it might be. Also it looks lime there are portals which looks dope.
Im sick of games where everything is so Linear. Should be a nice change of pace.
>>685882166
do you seriously think after all this talk about how its gonna be so different from other games, that its really gonna just end up being color palette swaps? they obviously arent gonna do something retarded like that
>>685882494
Right. Things might get bigger and more extravagant and more difficult to get past as you get closer to the center, but so far, all the gameplay and commentary I've seen tells me that the center is nothing more than another pretty picture. That the first person who sees it gets to name "Niggercock" or "Bushdid911." Maybe a nice little cutscene. But that's it.
Those who have watched all the videos, do you think you can use that land distruptor to go all the way through the planet ha? I imagine there will be some sort of bedrock
>>685882278
He has a police system so you can't kill animals and you're not allowed to collect animals either
He was really against the space zoo thing which an extreme disappointment.
>>685882964
Have you never heard of the hype?
>>685882278
The goal, which everyone seems to miss, is reaching the center of the galaxy.
>>685880240
If you watched rick and morty you would know thats not true
>>685883337
Yeah, it would take a MASSIVE amount of processing power to render an entire planet that's fully destructible. Much less every planet in the game. Would be cool though!
>>685882964
Look at this faggot you just believe everything you're told there is tons of examples of game devs lying, and the game not having even half the features they showed kill yourself.
>>685883134
Naming is not much of a reward in a galaxy where no one will ever see those creatures except you.
>>685880240
It's a very much ending galaxy.
>>685883388
its not hype. its the entire idea behind the game. make something that hasnt been made before.
>>685883387
idk, I've seen footage of him playing it and he attacks the aliens and all that happens is he says everything on the planet will be hostile towards you for a while
>>685883403
yea this too
>>685883656
...no. they made it like minecraft
>>685883654
Well, the idea is that everyone who plays the game will see what you discover. They're just not playing in the same universe you are. Which is another major disappointment I already have in this game-no multiplayer. It's just every player in their own galaxy, never seeing another player.
>>685883951
so shitty?
>>685878959
Expect a massive disappointment. There's only so much a development team of 11 people can do.
>>685884092
never ending
what's so bad about it just being about exploration
I would totally fine with this game if:
1.You can physically collect aliens
2.You can own a fleet of ships and have super large ships
3.You can make aliens your slaves and soldiers
4.You could blow up planets
5.Super large ships with mazes in them that you could explore just like a planet.
I mean if the game only lets you look at different aliens then how is that any different than just looking at a video of them?
>>685883819
It most certainly is hype. Look back on the games that were the most followed before they were released. Watch the reveals and the devs talking about them. Then look at the actual, released game. Tell me it was everything everyone said it was going to be.
>>685883134
Is what you need in video games an immediate sense of accomplishment? if you reach the center and there's huge explosions and a 30 minute bossfight, will that satiate you? This isn't a game for immediate gratification. the reward of reaching the center is reaching the center itself. A bit like Journey. It will take upwards of 40 hours to reach the center.
>>685884347
That would be so fucking fun. Collecting aliens from different planets and making them fight each other!
>>685883951
you're probably thinking of the word 'universe' not galaxy. The galaxy is limited and one of many. the universe however IS infinite.
>>685884449
at what point did I say its gonna be as good as it sounds? all I said was, its obviously not just gonna be just different colored things
>>685879400
Oooooooo i get it. OP is a fag
>>685884698
cause I said universe to begin with. that other anon said galaxy
>>685884347
Yeah everything you listed is pretty much what they're avoiding like the plague. this isn't a game for the war mongers who need to conquer everything they see in video games for a bit of gratification. go find another game, you'll be disappointed with this one.
>>685878959
Another pile of "artistic" crap a bunch of faggots are going to circle jerk each other over. A month later ( at most )everyone will forget about it.
>>685884322
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE games that encourage exploration. Open worlds, multiple paths-I always take the way that looks like it's not the way I'm supposed to go first to see if there's anything cool there. But when a game is purely and solely exploration with no other objective, it loses its power to motivate people to actually explore. I mean, yeah I can go that way, or that way, or even THAT way and see if there's anything awesome, which there very well might be. But what am I going to use that awesome thing for? As of now, nothing. That awesome thing is just for show. And that's what a lot of people aren't into.
>>685884572
I didn't even think about that.
That'd be so awesome to make them fight eachother.
>>685884266
never ending disappointment?
>>685878959
Same shit different year. Equally over-hyped. Will burnout fast when people realize that there's no multi-player and the planets get repetitive.
>2016 PC game with no multiplayer. wtf
>>685878959
>Hey guys we're gonna make Star Citizen in 1/10th the time for 1/1000 the money and it's gonna be all bright and vibrant and just as good
No Man's Sky is going to be a glorified tech demo.
It's going to end up feeling like Elite Dangerous.
Extremely expansive, with no fucking point, no reason to explore, no reason to do anything. Tedious. Boring.
>I found a neat planet!
Why?
>Well because look at these new aliens...
Why?
>Uh.. Maybe resources..
No
>Ok...
>>685885096
Hahaha! Ya! Watching NPCs fight would be sooooo fun!
>>685884477
Nah, the gratification doesn't have to be instant-it just has to be there. What will I have to show for those 40+ hours? If it's just another thing I can name and other people can look at, I'm out.
>>685885017
Yeh, if it isn't a big pile of shit you run around in with a gun shooting your way out of, murricans arent going to buy it.
The militant jew hero mythology is complete.
>>685885209
There is a lore to the game
>>685885082
How do you think minecraft survived before it had any story? by the player's imagination. the allure of carving your own path into this world kept players coming back. and although you can't really make your mark on NMS (besides basic terraforming) I feel it can still keep players hooked.
>>685882588
What the fuck do you mean? Go watch some fucking videos about it.
>>685885584
This is the truest thing said yet
>>685885580
I love the faggot lore defense lore of what you retard nothing because there is no npcs there is no sentient races there is nothing but color swapped trash. Just like destiny had lore fuck off.
>>685884700
I guess the point I was making was don't believe everything you hear. When you said "after all this talk about how its gonna be so different from other games," it implied you believed all the talk.
>>685884992
LOL this guy is the biggest bullshitter in gaming right now.
There is no multiplayer. He knows there's no multiplayer. He knows people THINK they MIGHT be able to see each other in the game if they "search hard enough". Look at the pic he's literally laughing at how fucking stupid people are.
>Most over-hyped pile of bullshit fail in 2016

You'll have your upgrades, your high tier ship, your far-reaching warp drive, your highly powerful suit shield that you upgraded differently to face different environments dynamically, you'r encyclopedia filled with each and every animal, plant or item you discovered.
>>685885584
No it survived because of autistic fucks like you.
>>685878959
Some autist will discover the core within the first 48 hours.
Screencap this.
>>685886004
sounds like going to school how fun.
>>685878959
Inch deep ocean. But I won't lie I'm fairly interested in what it's going to be like and might see about torrents if it's possible.
>>685885613
Well, I never! Go get me some fucking links and I might, BEYUTCH!
>>685885944
Actually there are several types of alien npcs. all with their own dialogue and backstory and language. they each have their own ship type and ideologies.
Also, you seem to be a bit confused as to the general working of their procedural engine. if you think this game survived as an exploration game with just color palettes swap, you are ignorant and uninformed
>>685884862
Two men were born on the year zero.
They were granted infinite life.
Man A decided to do nothing because he liked the way things are.
Man B decided to build an empire and build cities and culture around the world
It's the year 2000 now. Man A did a lot of nothing, but he walked around the world a couple of times and saw some neat stuff. Man B built all of science, literature, paintings, buildings, built the geek empire, the roman empire, the british empire, the american empire all of history is thanks to man B.
Which man would you want to be?
>>685885731
>>685886200
No this is the truest thing ever said.
>>685885944
There are npcs. What are you talking about. There will be some on certain planets where you have to learn their language to interact and so forth.
>>685878959
its gonna suck
over hyped and underdelivered.
>>685885971
I know, but they didnt just say "its a big universe with lots of different stuff in it", theyre TRYING to make a game that will have tons of actual different planets and lifeforms and everything. obviously, you'll most likely see some things that look similar, but I really doubt its gonna be as bad as people on here are saying
>>685886358
ur gay lol
>>685881364
>constantly say its not only exploration
It will be the entire purpose/driving force of the game though, otherwise why would the game need an essentially endless supply of unexplored planets.
>>685886278
I'd like to know which you school you go to where that is on the syllabus.
So this game probably won't be for you, which is good for you, but I think a lot of other people will be fine with what the game offers, because they informed themselves before forming an opinion on the game. You should probably play darksouls or something like that, instead of a game that takes imagination.
>>685885584
True. Very true. But the main difference between Minecraft and what we've heard about NMS is that you CAN'T leave your mark anywhere. Minecraft had the whole "build anything anywhere like Legos" thing going for it. NMS doesn't look like it's going to give the player anywhere near that much freedom to be creative. I guess the best comparison I could make would be to call Minecraft a sandbox and NMS a fucking wildlife preserve.
>>685878959
I hope theres no multiplayer. The whole attaction of it is to have an entire galaxy to explore.
Last thing i want is to go all the way off to some distant planet and find some faggots graffiti on the wall.
>>685878959
I haven't seen the newest trailers but it looks kind of boring for me. It will be fun until the novelty wears off. At least that's how it will be for me.
>>685886315
You believe hype trains how about you explain the point when would you ever see any of these things also what are you people defending this game not getting this is impossible to make the way they said the infinite planets and animals and plants if you knew anything about how to make living moving things with AI in a game you get it but you're just another autistic playing minecraft.
>>685885944
Also, Destiny has TONS of lore. You just have to actually want to know it.
Hoping we get to stumble upon some 2001/Interstellar kind of shit where the known laws of physics are just fucking gone.
>>685886814
Fair point about leaving your mark.
>>685886358
The man that is happy.
>>685886787
You know what also takes imagination an empty box what's your point and darksouls has a story and non boring gameplay I guess if you're a cancer baby and can't play it that's why you defend no mans autism.
>>685886747
I've already said, they mean it as, not just exploration to look at cool planets. there will be lots of stuff to do while youre looking around
>>685886312
what made you say this?
you are a massive faggot
>>685886004
Hm. I guess that does sound kind of cool. I just have a repertoire of my favorite games that I've been comparing NMS to, but they're so different that it's probably not fair.

a dog could be happy. do you want to be a dog?

Sounds like Elite Dangerous with even less things to do. And an equally autistic determination to not listen to anyone about anything.
>>685886535
I suppose that's where our opinions differ then
>>685886982
Ya not in game like you know old adventure games from the 80s when they had no choice but to put the story in a book to read along destiny has no excuse and is trash.
>>685887687
then youre completely missing my point.
this is pretty much like you saying "theres not gonna be any flying around in space in this game, dont believe the hype"
>>685886911
I attempted to read that a few times, but the lack of grammar makes it insanely difficult. But from my greatest cryptologists tell me you don't know when you'll see the alien races, which is when you go to their respective location in the galaxy. All factions have their own area and race.
Also you might think it's impossible to create an infinite number using earths animals, but when you think outside of our limited view of the universe you can get a lot more. If you'd watch pretty much any trailer you'd see there is a large amount of diversity.
The procedural system operates from a few base templates which are fed into an algorithm that changes it. warps it, stretches it and textures it stuff like that. There are perhaps hundreds of thousands of templates (I don't really know) but if you looked at any of the trailers, you could get tonnes of examples.
Some of the stuff we've seen have been giant dinosaurs, but it stretches all the way to a giant walking blob.
>>685887402
Well, at least I don't take to calling people faggots behind a wall of anonymity like a 12 year old. But this IS /b/...I don't know what I expected...
>>685888036
The attacking grammar defense guess who just lost the argument. So they are going to make a game more complex than everything on earth and more complex than any program ever made I got it' you're fucking retarded.
>>685887987
I didn't say don't belive ANYTHING you hear. I just said don't belive EVERYTHING. Big difference.
>>685887335
Hahaha wow you got salty quick. I wasn't attacking dark souls I was just saying it's probably more the type for you. I'm guessing I was correct in that assumption because you're angry as fuck as soon as anyone even mentions dark souls in a bad light.
a story isn't what makes a game good, I wouldn't expect you to believe that though.
>>685888248
You do realize you're on b also.
>>685878959
its going to be magical and wonderous for a few months but quickly lose its appeal.
will only be played by role players in a few years.
>>685887788
Right-like I said, you have to actually want to be involved. And I actually like that they did that. Instead of forcing every bit of information about the expansive timeline of events on you, they let you come to the story if you want to know it. Which a lot of-if not most-people don't I had fun with that game.
>>685887468
A dog COULD be happy, but is that dog truly happy? Also, we're talking about men, as in man, as in human, so don't be grasping for straws trying to knock down my argument.
The man who did nothing could be perceived as lazy and uneventful, but you could say he was an adventurous person that chose a life of freedom over servitude or ruling others. He lived in the forest, and fished everyday, hunted wild animals, was one with nature. Met thousands of people and connected to them personally, probably read a million books and passed knowledge down to others. Though he was never important and never did anything worth while, he was happy. Some people choose to live their life that way, which is why ur gay lol.
>>685888594
but its a main point of this game that its gonna have randomly generated shit. thats like the entire point to it, otherwise its just like any other space game. so why would they not try at all on the main selling point of the game?
>>685887335
You make your own story and just have fun seeing the different creatures and shit. Most of the stuff you said you wouldn't like about the game is stuff that happens in every game.
>I beat all these monsters and mobs and just for a short end story cut scene.
>I am out.
Also Sean said reaching the center is kinda like a new beginning.
>>685878959
before we can discuss No Mans Sky OP i need you to stop and thinking about why you saved the same picture twice
>>685888580
No my friend, I was merely pointing out that I had difficulty reading your message. And do you really think this is an 'argument' that needs to be won? this is a discussion about the features of the game.
And it's not really hard to make someone more complex than life on earth. there's so many concepts for creatures that are valid that we have never seen on earth.
And no, I was never really saying it will be more complex than any program ever made, I'm saying it will have enough variation to satiate most peoples exploration desire. I'm sure if you explore for 100 hours you could find some tree's that look kind of similiar, but most people will probably be bored by then anyway.
>>685881700
Ps4 exclusive
Srry m8
>>685888680
A story isn't what makes a game good are you fucking retarded so I guess games shouldn't have stories and characters and things to care about you know things to relate to, and you did attack it play a game that doesn't take imagination like dark souls you sure backed off fast after being called on your bullshit.
>>685888851
...yes. Yes I do. But judging by the fact that you've done nothing but attack me so far, I can assume you'll do the same no matter what I say or do, so I'm ending the conversation. Don't know why I continued this far to begin with...
>>685889473
No, it's out on PS4 and PC at the same time. It's only called a PS4 exclusive because it's not coming out on xbox.
>>685885995
this.
Its absurd to think they would spend huge amounts of dev time on a multiplayer component that wont even be used.
Or that they would spend money on servers to support an MMO style game
>>685889204
what story can you make you're some idiot looking at shit and more shit and more shit that's it done.
>>685887335
holy shit man do you realize how fucking stupid you look when you dont use any punctuation seriously you should go read a book and learn a bit about building sentences and paragraphs unless you want to look like a fucking retard in which case congratulations you did it
>>685887339
>lots of stuff to do while youre looking around
So basically some random shit do distract you from all the exploring, while you explore.
Someone keeps talking about the game having lore, in my opinion that's the only thing that will save this game. If a week or so after the release people start reporting wierd shit they have found that slowly unravels clues to a massive universe shattering plot, it will keep peoples interest.
There has to be some form of escalation besides the plants and aliens just getting bigger and uglier as you get closer to the core.
>>685889331
I am sure you make video game's and know about game design right because again what you said is bullshit and impossible if it wasn't way has it never been done and ya a team of 11 with no time or money can totally do it, and yes this is an argument and using fallacies make you lose.
>>685889701
Here's a power gamer at its worst. Literally no imagination and all hand-holding through a story with this one.
>>685889476
Please stop expanding my argument to ridiculous terms to make it easier for you to attack, it's a really basic strategy and it's really obvious to any observer.
And if a game doesn't take imagination that instantly makes it bad? No, I never said that either. please stop trying to strawman this discussion, it's just showing your failings.
CoD multiplayer (while not a shining example of videogame quality) does not take much imagination to play, but is still an enjoyable gaming experience.
Something like NFS2, takes barely any imagination besides which corner to drift, was still a iconic game in the racing series and was enjoyed by many.
I AM however saying that every game does not need a story and might require imagination to play, and just because it lacks a story does not make a bad game.
>>685890238
>Please stop expanding my argument to ridiculous terms to make it easier for you to attack
this is called "no true Scotsman" fallacy
>>685883819
Elite, star citizen, New eve online.
Elite is exactly like this, except without animals to name.
Not bagging, I love elite and I put my no man sky order in the day it went preorder, but it would be remiss to say this is a new genre / game that's not been done before.
The funky thing about it is the algorithms of development behind it. That's the "exciting" part to it. How it will supposedly recreate infinite vistas and wildlife to explore.
I'm stoked for the game, and am hanging on like a modo to play, but do I think it's been over hyped and be underwhelming to a good 70 percent of players? Of course.
ADD kids can't go five seconds without a flashing light, boss battle or random noise.
>>685890238
I am not I took exactly what you said and tore it down not my fault you say stupid shit that you regret after.
>>685890551

>>685889889
What if your character slowly discovers proof that the universe he resides in is actually just a simulation?
>>685890669
Really hoping that it'll be good, because if it is, more games will be as ambitious as this one, but if it's not, people will be hesitant to ever attempt something similar.
That being said, I think it'll be hit or miss. It'll either be amazing or really boring. At the very least, I hope it's not just 3D starbound.
>>685890205
No I am not some jackass trying to defend a game that has no point to be played games with no goals are boring same as life but I guess just making shit up is easier for you than a story written by someone guessing you don't read much.

>A story isn't what makes a game good are you fucking retarded so I guess games shouldn't have stories and characters and things to care about you know things to relate to
I'm pretty sure that is expanding my argument beyond it's original terms. You're making a generalization.
I never said games should not have story, I'm saying some games don't need a story to excel. a game like Dark Souls needs a lot of story to get people invested and interested, whereas a game like No Man's Sky is interesting to people for other aspects.
Can't wait to see what you stretch this argument to include next time, you psychological mess.
>>685891073
I've already pre-purchased, I have high hopes for this damn game.
>>685890969
Reading books is important, but have you never had a story that you wanted to tell? Did you never imagine some grand scenario that you wanted to share with people?
I'm guessing you never played a role-playing game. Not an RPG, I mean role playing, as in, it's you telling a story and not so much you being told one. There's satisfaction to be found in creating something off your own imagination, and this can be just the tool to do so.
I'm sorry for you if you have never had this feeling.

It's ok anon, not everyone can deal with a game not handing you everything you need to know on a silver platter. This anon seems to be one of those people.
>>685890969
What is the 'point' of playing a game like gmod if there's no dragon to slay? You have to make your own fun, I know that can be hard to grasp, doing something other than what the game tells you but I'm sure you'll get a handle on it some day.
>>685891971
Sad thing that game has more to do that no man faggotry
>>685889536
>/summer/
>>685881442
what bells and whistles? you fly in a ship and land on a planet and point at stuff. fly for a couple more hours and repeat the same thing
>>685892382
Funny that you can say that without actually having played either.
>>685890969
But also, exploration is the point?
Maybe that just doesn't tickle your gooch like it tickles mine. But that doesn't mean it has no point?
Maybe life (and a game like this) is boring to you because you've not set any goals.
>>685892475
If you're a nerd, the engine that drives all this is pretty fucking amazing and would be considered bells and whistles if you understand and appreciate that sort of thing.
>>685883545
rick and morty is garbage
>>685890669
and now we see who the real 'winner' is as soon as this anon stops replying because all their argument tactics have been shot down.
good ol /b/.
>>685893105
Steady mate. You're gunna cause a ruckus.
>>685893137
WINNER OF ARGUMENTS ON /B/
That ones goin in the pool room.
>>685893341
I'm trying to use the anons words to get him to come back, don't spoil it.
also it's not my argument to win
>>685892603
>Maybe life (and a game like this) is boring to you because you've not set any goals.
>>685893137
Nope stopped to see if you autistic retards would keep replying even if I didn't say anything anymore and you did good job. Don't worry ill be back when that shitty game comes out and everything I said was right have fun wasting money cancer babies.
>>685893567
See. No stress. Everyone always comes back.
How else do you win?
>>685893760
Eh, he gave me the loaded gun, I just pointed and shot.
>>685878959
the game itself wont do much but it and others like it will show people the real power of computers and mathematics, which will hopefully cause an revolution of sorts in entertainment.
>>685892247
im pretty sure they advertise it as CAN be played in single player. So multiplayer is implied.
>>685893789
Hey, atleast you finally have some imagination, thinking that anyone will give a shit when the game comes out and doesn't have an in depth story line. nobody but you and other uninformed people are expecting that or will be disappointed by it.
>>685894185
It's an asynchronous universe, with one shard that everyone is accessing. It is most definitely implied.
However, the caveat is you've no reference points, no grid, no mini map, no in-game voice. It's been implied that yes, if you look hard. Really fucking hard, that yes, you can find other players by breadcrumming and deduction.
But it's a goddamn entire universe, with no spatial mapping. " Yeah Bob, I'm online now.... Yeah I'm by the purple planet where someone named the wildlife tallywacker. "
Good luck with that.
>>685895007
I believe there is an indicator for your friends, as well as a small dot showing you where you are. There is also a minimap for the galactic map that they have not shown yet as it is still being worked on.
>>685895007
Basically Starbound without coordinates.
Wait a minute, what if there are coordinates?
>>685895007
Let's say by one in a billion trillion gorillian shot you find Bob's purple planet.
What next. it's still a fucking planet, with no mini map. Yeah I'm on this mountain! Come find me!
I applaud the guy. the amount of rage and shit spewed because it's so minimalist he cops on a hourly basis must be insane.
Good on someone for having the balls to defy all conventions. I hope it goes classic for them.
>>685895316
Really? Last I saw was Sean saying nope, not gunna be nudda thing.
And I hope so Tbh. Can you imagine the "offline" metagame that will develop around trying to find someone. There will be idiots youtubing their entire journey just to let someone else know.
>>685895351
Confirmed, no coordinates.
>>685896016
Yeah he didn't want one at first, but decided it would be a bit necessary.
https://repo.nmsdb.info/?info=Galactic_Map
and
https://repo.nmsdb.info/?info=Multiplayer
scroll down a bit and you'll see the dot points saying this.
Yeah I'm pretty glad they added this, atleast if someone DOES want to meet up they'll have the tools.
>>685880928
>I'm 16 guis!!!
>>685896016
I know, they're sending everybody on a wild goose chase. It's pure genius.
>>685896335
>inb4 ban
>>685896334
Cool! Admittedly it's been a little while since I've checked in.
Well, I guess it's fair. The tools need to be there.
I kinda liked the idea of a absolutely slim to nearly no chance of doing so.
The sense of achievement at that point would be pretty satisfying in it self.
>>685896414
In my mind it would be perfect. You get your diehards in on day one. By end of week one a community is forming. By the end of month one, you'd have a dedicated, supportive community rallying around one goal.
Kinda shit you need to keep a game like this going forward into the future.
>>685886089
well then dont play the game, fuckwit.
You're all acting like you're being forced to play NMS but if you think its so shitty just fucking ignore it and let the rest of us have fun
>>685881442
That's what I did with spore
>>685886911
Jesus man, how stupid are you?
You obviously dont know jack shit about this game, so please just fuck off so the rest of us can talk about it
>>685898120
That's because EA cut the Fuck out of spore.
Seriously, the tech demo of spore at E3 was actually awe inspiring.
Had that game not be cut down to buggery, I honestly believe spore would still be a cult classic today.
I still fire it up once a year to get to space stage.
>>685886358
its a god damn video game dont be getting all into these unrelated philosophical discussions with me
>>685898389
I'd have played space stage if I could have more than one fucking ship and didn't have to be the sole defender of the galaxy. At a certain point it just stops mattering that you're playing. You can only be in one place at once, and everything else comes from everywhere all over. You can't respond to them as they erase your work. And that's how it ends.
> Unless you went planet destroyer. Then you can blow up all the planets so they stop emitting distress signals.
>>685890153
sorry sir, your troll is showing
you may want to cover that up if you really want people to get mad at you
>>685887468
why do i have to be a dog why cant i be a happy person?

>>685898726

Let me explain to you faghots how this shit works. They have backers. Backers will invest a lot more in a sequel if the first installation is promising. By promising it means paying back the investors and making some money.
So, THERE MUST BE HYPE and the game MUST BE SHIT because the real price is the sequel.
>>685899558
Yeah, no. Most backers don't go for a second serving of shit.
>>685899515
More like xXxDickFace69lolxXx216985
>>685899558
Plus first game literally infinite.... No sequel chance there.
If anything, yearly pass or dlc. Which, it doesn't seem like they are a cunty company like that.
So, June 3rd right?
