Hey guys i'm building a PC and it's my first time if u could give me your opinion about this build.. I don't need a super high end pc just enough to play LOL and Cod and so with decent graphics. Also, about 950€ would be perfect.
Here's what I think:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H75 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus B150M-A D3 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: A-Data Premier SP550 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: XFX ProSeries 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Case Fan: Corsair CO-9050017-BLED 66.4 CFM 140mm Fan

Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard

You want an SSD, not a 1TB hd.

Otherwise, everything depends on your monitor. Your monitor resolution drives your choice of video card and that drives your CPU choice.

Get 2x4gb sticks of ram instead, its a lot faster

Get an i5 - 6500, with that motherboard you won't be able to overclock

Dont get led fans, get an led strip if you want to be that faggot

Better PSU with the saved cash would be better. Cheaping out on the PSU is like buying an alloy block engine for your turbo drift car, its gonna fuckin blow up sooner or later.
>>
you cant use ddr3 ram with a skylake cpu. it wont fit on the mainboard. you need ddr4 ram.

You could half the ram and get a better GPU though, no one needs that amount of ram with a system as low spec as that

What are you trying to say here?
I built my own skylake system.

I'm complaining about those trying to buy DDR3 RAM for a Skylake system, and then others buying 16gb of RAM for a system that can't even run Photoshop properly, and then those that want to buy a 430w PSU for a GPU that will likely soak up half the wattage

>>
>>685681429
got to /g/, or better, to a forum like OC.uk with this. A fast board like this where half of the people want to feed you misinformation isn't exactly the best place to ask.

You need a Z170 chipset board to overclock, if you dont overclock the 6600k is burned money. Dont fall for the small closed loop AiO watercooling meme, go for a decent aircooler instead (comparable temperatures, way more silent and less chances to fail)

Get 2x4 or 2x8GB RAM for dual channel, actually gives you a slight performance jump.

The GTX 960 is underpowered as heck for a system in that price category. Get at least an R9 290/r9 390, the sapphire Nitro or powercolor PCS+ is a good choice. The 970 is a bad choice due to the segmented VRAM, so either get a GTX 980 or stay with AMD. Your best option is waiting though, new AMD and Nvidia cards literally come out next month.

Get a good 500W PSU, a be quiet straight power 10 500w, coolermaster CS550M. The corsair V550SM is acceptable too.
>>
Not op here, but im building a pc for the first time too:

-nzxt noctis 450 case
Corsair rm850i psu
4tb toshiba sata hard drive
msi x99s krait edition
Raijintek triton cooler with 240mm rad
samsung 850evo ssd
Waiting for geforce gtx 1080 hybrid and intel i7 broadwell-e (some 5930k price equivalent like 650euros )

Probably going to buy an m.2 4lane ssd in future and maybe a second 1080

All this wil be on either 3 1920×1080 screens or 1 4k ultrawide 34inch curved screen, from which ill buy another one in a year or so.

Do you think it'll be able to run minecraft at at least 15fps? And i'll browse /b/ on it
>>
>>685681429
Water cooling looks pointless, and 450w psu is way too low, get 650-750 at least
>>
>>685688144
>>
Nzxt noctis dude here; imma overclock the shit out of everything by the way, and i got 16gb of ddr4 2400mhz memory
>>
>>685688833
it's not to low, get what is enough for your system and what you plan in the close future. OPs system will draw way less than 300W under gaming load.

>>685688676
are you serious or what?

M.2 SSDs are only useful if you do something like content creation (loading a shit ton of large photos into photoshop for example). It makes close to no difference for normal desktop usage, system/program startup time.
>>
How's this build?
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
OCZ Trion 100 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Sapphire Radeon R9 380X 4GB NITRO Video Card
Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Logitech Z506 155W 5.1ch Speakers

Any suggestions would be nice. I'm trying to keep this under $1200 if possible.
>>
>>685681429
youre an absolute idiot for buying a liquid cooler if you dont plan to OC. Also, dont get 240 gb for a SSD, I only use my 128 for Windows. you dont need the extra case fans, use the extra money to upgrade your GPU

>except for when your graphics cards don't sound like appache helicopters taking off when your gaming

hell even the new 1080's can't hold their touted boost clocks in a normal case due to throttling from the card getting too hot, after 20mins it is basically back down to the base clock speed. then you have to start fucking with the power target to get it to stay at the 1700mhz boost clock
>>
>>685689258

I just thought about buying it in the future; i'll actually use the pc for full hd video editimg and animation in blender. Maybe ill buy After effects amd photoshop, i like photography and video-making a lot and id like to produce some shit. Also light gaming on it, but the m.2ssd is also for fapping to it and feeling a little alpha
>>
>>685682142
Or wait until the 1080 comes out???
>>
>>685689593

>>
>>685689258
Don't go for a CPU with open multiplier when you dont want to overclock. Either change the CPU to a Xeon E3 1231v3/i7 4771 if you dont want to overclock, or change the board to a Z87/Z97 Board.

The 380X is OK, but not really that much stronger than a 380. In that price bracket i would really think about going for a decent R9 390, like the sapphire nitro. If it's intended for gaming, definetly do that, and if necessary get an i5 instead of the i7.

I would change the tower to something like the nanoxia deep silence 3. Fans will be way more quiet (even the fans in my corsair carbide 300R for ~60$ are complete shit, corsair just cheaps out on them all the time), its insulated, and you want cut your fingers on sharp metal thingys that are everywhere in these cheap towers.

The PSU is completly overpowered and not that good at all. If you think that you really need a 750W PSU for the close future go for something good like the Corsair RMi series (the i is important, RM series isnt that good). If not and you just want something good for your system get a good 500W PSU like the Be quiet straight power 10 500W, Coolermaster V550SM and Corsair CS550M.

This is overkill for what you said you want. my 700 USD pc (i3, 750ti, 8gb ram) can run league on max at over 200 fps, i never play cod but it ran bf4 stable 60+ on high settings. you can also get more performance than I did, but i wanted to get a nice silverstone case, and a mechanical keyboard. Also, if you dont plan on overclocking just go with stock cooler, but if you do get a different mobo.

The rest of your system seems fine, you may wanna go with either 12gb or 16gb of ram though.
>>
>>685689659
well, they're definetly awesome tech, it's just that they are still quite expensive per GB and not that usefull for most people at all. If you have to load large files for your programs it might be worth the price, otherwise i really doubt you'll notice a difference at all. Cool, thanks for the suggestion, i'll be toying around with it for a while before I buy it. Since i don't want to over clock I might go for that i7 4771. The GPU is a tricky one since I won't be playing next gen games so I though of going for a lower card. The Deep Silence looks like a good choice over the corsair one that was originally on the list. The PSU I thought should be higher because of the Video card's power consumption but I'll look into that.
