If you think about it there isn't much different between connecting legos and connecting a PC.
It's not surprising an 11 year old kid who had access to the internet since the age of 7 could find the resources needed to build a PC.
There lots of kid friendly youtube videos for building PCs especially since there are a large amount of kids who want a PC for minecraft.
