It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

Nice thread op, berserk is probably my favorite manga of all time, if not my 2nd favorite.
Anyway, what do you guys think will happen once they meet the elf king? I think something sad hasn't happened in awhile so hopefully we get some major tradegy concerning cascas recovery or something

I'm honestly expecting Guts to recover parts of his body; most likely the eye. The world is literally going crazy and if he gets his stereoscopic vision back then suddenly he'll become a lot more skilled and yadda-yadda.
As for Caska, I don't want to sound edgy but I want something really dark to happen there. I mean, the series is slowly becoming a fantasy Shonen.

I think the delay has been a lack of enthusiasm combined with the fact that he wrote himself into a corner. No way out, and I don't think he wants to make Caska a character again. She is more effective as a plot device than a character with reasoning.

I'm guessing the Elf King, among other things will get rid of their Mark, and warn Guts about how he's accelerating his corruption.
Gats will eventually make the choice to become like the Death Knight; being finally able to stand toe-to-toe against the God Hand; but the sacrifice for that has to be Caska.

Skull knight's corruption is the ultimate example of "ends justify the means."
To what length he has endeavored, he is now not only comparable to the God hand in combat, but also in physiology. The guy has forsook his humanity, is he really any better than the God Hand he fights?
I don't think Guts will end up like Skull knight, it goes against his character. Surely things stray from the path, Guts' very existence is a deviation from fate and society.
Miura only wrote in the armor so that Guts could still be relevant against literal gods. Let's hope we get an ending.

True, they did kind of waffle around with that. At least they kept the characters' personality and mannerisms consistent so there was a little suspension of disbelief.

For either patch, just extract to game folder, overwrite when prompted.
Version with mods adds a few extra outfits and also the ability to change what the gril addresses you as, so I personally would go with the mod version. It's up to you, though.
