I can't even get a job at Mcdonald's im that fucking worthless. I went there for an interview and it was going really well considering i have mild social anxiety, the interviewer asked questions too which I gave good answers too, I also asked questions which she happily answered, the way she was talking it sounded like I was going to get the job, but I didn't, I dont understand why, even my availability was perfect i was available from 4pm-10pm Monday to Friday and 7pm-10pm on weekends and it makes me so fucking depressed that if i cant even get a job at Mcdonalds then what are my chances of getting a job anywhere else. I have another interview this Tuesday so could you guys give me some tips and wish me luck?
>protip: interviewers are trained to fake their emotions

Do you have a degree?
Bro I just got a job at a fucking bank right after McDonalds rejected me.
They only hire fuck ups aka their friends.
You gotta know someone to get a job there.
>>684414417
>4pm-10pm Monday to Friday and 7pm-10pm
waaaaay too narrow
be prepared to work all the shitty shifts at the beginning then get better work hours later
>>684414575 thats complete bullshit, the way she talked got me so excited but when i got the email saying I didnt get the job I was depressed about it for a few days
They don't like hiring good workers because it makes em look bad.
Plus good workers usually leave when they realize it's a shit job.
>>684414843
Why are you lying on the internet anon?
In my entire life of over 50 interviews I've never had anyone ever call or email to say I don't have the job. If they contact you it's to say you have the job.
>>684414635 - currently doing year 10 in highscool

Just drink the washing liquid that goes in washing machines that will kill you if you drink it because it has numerous chemicals in it that are very dangerous to humans if swallowed because of the reason I just stated, anonymous person on the image board known by the name of /b/ on the website known as 4chan.org on the internet which is a vast connection which makes people able to communicate and do other things without even looking at the person.

This. I worked at Walmart for two years. Had shitty shifts for 6 months til I had the most expierence in my department (Walmart blows through employees like Charlie Sheen blows through blow). I was pretty much free to make my schedule for a majority of my time there.

>year 10 in highschool
i think i see why you didn't get the job
i wouldn't hire an 18 year old that's still in grade 10 either
>>684415085
>year 10
You have to be 18 to post here...

Op I have 4 yr restaurant experience in literally every position in a restaurant except line chef and manager. I move to shit town and cant land a job at mcdonalds, pizzahut, fuking bank. Not even walmart or other grocery stores. Shits making me furious.
Basically, you're fucked. Find connections, or act completely out of the norm in interviews. Might get lucky.

Most jobs look for ppl with experience. Its a vicious cycle but once ur in ur in
>>684414417
i feel you oupie
i applied for mcd quite time ago, and they have not called me yet
it feels like every job wants a worker with an energy of 20 year old, and experience of 40 year old wtf
Also the hours ur available r horrible. Most places won't hire. Offer to work weekends cause that's what most new hires work until u get better and they want to give u more hours
>>684414575
They aren't trained retard, its just common sense.
>>68441598
Dude that's a 3 hour shift, no employer ever bothers with that shit. In some places it's the law to pay 4 hours if you show up and leave early against your will. Especially not on a weekend. You could do 8 hours and hmwk before or after.
Same on weekdays, if you need a job so bad, use your days off and lunch break, stay up late if you must, take time off to study for exams.
But 7pm-10pm is out of this world retarded time to list for availability. What is she going to do with that?
Don't worry, you're underage b& and all, so you'll learn. But goddamn dude I wouldn't hire you if you were management material.
Also at year 10 you should probably not worry about a job.

Mcdonald's employee here. Did you apply to a franchise or a corporate resturaunt? I work graveyard from 10 pm to 7 am 6 days a week and make more than $700 bucks every 2 weeks after taxes, only possoble if it's franchise. Look I don't mean to be the bad guy but.... maybe consider stealing. I was in your position in 10th grade, and at that time I stole things from people and sold them to pawn shops. Hell I stole my teacher's pencils and sold them tp her 12 cents each. Just don't let morality stand in your way, stay determined, and pinch every penny like a jew. Don't buy a baseball cap or a fucking video game like a retard, save that shit. Money is a game, and you win by being smart.

>14 years old
>mad they don't give him a job.
nobody wants to hire some high school idiot. just focus on school so that you don't end up in the same position later in life.
>>684417358
Well that changes everything.
Sorry, OP. Maybe someone else was cooler than you. Jobs in highschool overrated anyway.
But if you need one so bad, and youre socially awkward/anxious, might have better luck applying to back of house work.
>>684417232
A degenerate thief working at McDonald's, mind blown.
>>684414417
It was probably your shitty punctuation. I wouldn't hire you either.
>>684417808
Yep because punctuation in speech is so important
>>684417929
The resume, dufus.
> my availability was perfect
Anything other than open availability is not perfect if you are really desperate for a job

In Australia at least they absolutely do. A teenager is paid less for doing the same job as an adult, and the younger you are the less you are paid. Because of this it's virtually impossible to get work in many places as anything but a delivery driver or manager because they will never want to pay for an adult where they could hire a teenager instead.
Didn't anyone ever teach you about this shit, son?
Get over that goddamn self-depricating bullshit attitude of yours and listen here:
You can't just put an application in at one place and then get discouraged that you didn't get the job. There could be any reason someone else was hired over you. Lots of times hiring is done as a formality and someone with an inside connection was always going to be hired from the beginning. You gotta put in applications everywhere you can. Ask friends, family, acquaintances. Hell, if you're having a hard time, go somewhere and try to make some friends and then ask them.
It ain't gonna help anything just sittin' around acting sorry for yourself. In the words of Babe Ruth, you just can't beat the person who never gives up. Now get your ass out there and find a job to do.
>>684414417
Are you over 20? Massive companies don't give a single shit about you unless you're young enough that they can pay you nothing, or you're already working for them under terms such that they can't fire you immediately.
>>684417988
1. Punctuation on resume is flawless
2. The only part of your resume they ask for are references

I have applied for many places (KFC, Subway, Kmart, Coles , Woolworths) and I got denied at every single one (they are all stores in Australia btw)
>>684418419
If you're only giving exactly what they ask for, you're doing it wrong. You're selling yourself, not filling out necessary paperwork.
>>684418781
well then what do you suggest i do
>>684418689
You're thinking in terms of school where it's pass/fail. Real life doesn't work that way. You can do everything right and still lose. Even though you need a job, and society will call you a loser/bum for not having one, they will not just let you have one, even if you could do it.
Getting rejected doesn't mean you weren't "good enough", it just means you didn't get the job. Applying for more jobs won't guarantee you one, it just gives you more chances.
By the way, don't make the mistake of thinking that applying for work is meant to be a logical, meritocratic process. Places looking for workers may not advertise and you can only get their jobs with an informant or by throwing a resume at them anyway. When they list requirements they might not actually be serious about them so you should apply anyway.
>>684419380
Ask every person you know, every person your family knows, every employed friend of a sibling, if they know somebody looking for a worker. Cheat the system, everybody else is doing it. Hell, it unofficially IS the system.
>>684419380
You give them what they want and more, anything else that you think distinguishes you from other random people. If you can't think of anything, ask friends and family. It's embarrassing, but anyone who actually likes you can probably think of reasons why, and that's what you need to let employers know if you want them to give you a chance.
>>684419691
This. I failed to even get an interview for hundreds of jobs, and heard nothing after dozens of interviews. Then a friend told me about a job at the company he worked for, I listed him as a character reference and now I'm earning AUD60k at my first ever full time job, writing javascript for government contractors.
Probably been said before but they only hire people with no potential, they don't want someone to work temporarily cause it costs too much to keep training staff
