simply asserting something, anything, does not make it true.
it would be very interesting to actually have a scientific, morality free, objective, scientific study of incest, but given the topic at hand, and the stigma surrounding it, it would be nearly impossible to actually get people to come forward and be honest about their experience.
so as long as it remains taboo and illegal, you will only hear about the people who got caught (and therefore publicly stigmatized, which creates a negative effect on its own) and those who were victims of forced sexual contact by a relative, and therefore falsely assume that because thats all you hear about it, that is all there must be.
