Hey poorfags;)) look what i just got in the mail ;)
Ujelly? I only do luxury gaming ;)
Been thinking of buying a brown key mech kb OP, what do you think of it so far? I hate the orange bit on the left but willing to put up with it if the keyboard is quality shit. Thoughts?
Not OP but I've got an MX Brown keyboard.
I'd recommend it, I like it far more than reds due to it having somewhat of a tactile feel. Doesn't beat blues in overall feel, but they aren't loud as fuck.
Here's my new build:
MSI Z170 Gaming Motherboard
Not saying it's the best thing in the world, but it does what I want it to do
Thanks for the reply - my friend got a brown, and it's sick, I just cant decide on a brand. The logitechs are good caus they're big and awesome, das keyboard are great but too small!
Definitely been looking at the logitech though. Blue keyboards are so good, but yeah quite loud - which isnt an issue for me on my own, but if people stay over, the kb is in the lounge, bound to annoy people. Esp. if they are sleeping.
Don't worry, there is a 256 GB 850PRO SSD, Cosmos II case, aaaand, H80i GT is not totally shitty cooler, it's ok for a little OC
Just sell it real quick, before everybody else does the same. You'll lose like 50 bucks on it, but you'll get 980Ti performance for it. Not that a 970 is bad, will go on for a couple of years.
I can't decide whether or not I need the bump in performance really, the 970 is doing just as I need it to. Also, I don't think we have the UK prices confirmed yet, and I only bought my 970 for £200, so I'm still weighing it up in my head. No doubt that if I stil to 970, it will last a good few years, and then I can buy a new card when they launch the 1280 or something ridiculous like that
> luxury gaming
Since gaems are created to be distributed to as much people as able, they cannot be luxry. Somebody made a fool of you.
I'm from the EU as well, and we always get fucked with prices so it will probably be about 300 pounds when it's released. You can sell the 970 for about 225, so it would cost you about 75 pounds total. If I got that chance I would do it, but it's a hassle.
Where are you seeing the 970 being sold for £225?
But yeah, we get fucked with prices, and I'm not sure if I'm going to see much of a performance increase on my setup anyway, so I'm not sure it's worth the switching fees, especially as I just splashed out for a holiday, I don't want to spend too much more this month
sooo like let me get this straight, OP is so unsure of himself he feels the need to go on /b/ in hopes of finding reconsolidation within his tribal triggers rhather than his actually choices?
so he might as well have posted a gold chain.
2x GTX 980Ti SLI
2x 480GB sandisk SSD in raid 0
500GB samsung 840 SSD
2x 2TB caviar green HDD in raid 1
>op claims to be richfag
>has i5 processor
i bet you spent that with your mom's money
Well, I choose to run it at 1080, because my 4K to has a tiny delay on it, and I never bother looking at frame rates so it doesn't bother me.
I'm happy with it, does that offend you or something?
>tfw OP spent as much on the motherboard as he did on the processor
>tfw OP is calling us poor yet his ram doesn't even have heatspreaders
>tfw OP will be building this on the floor because he has no case
Oh look, mine is quite better. Who is the poorfag now?
I got better hardware than this when they became the best/newest thing.
I'm looking to upgrade soon away from this old tired shit you've got.
Btw, Geforce is shit, Radeon in crossfire is better.
i5 processor, I think we all know who the poor fag is.
>Hey poorfags;)) look what i just got in the mail ;)
>Ujelly? I only do luxury gaming ;)
just sit it out until the next new gen gets released and get the 1080 then.
best time to get cheap cards is a week before next release until all old gpu's got thrown out a week or two later
yeah no shit, but why waste money on an i5 when you can have all that extra power? with a server motherboard you can control it remotely, and use the rig as a dedicated hardware server, therefor you can use the gtx on your laptop.
You dumb shit, you dont think I know what matters in a gaming rig? all i'm saying is that for the same money as a faggot i5 OP could have had a total multitasking beast.
For the same amount he could of both but a motorbike and done wheelies.
Motorbikes are heaps better at doing jumps than a server.
Oh that's right this thread is about gaming rigs isn't it.
your actually such a fucking dipshit cunt, a server is not much different from a PC, only plebs like you dont buy them all the time, so the price/performance is much much better, ecc ram is way cheap, OP could have had way more ram than if he went for non ECC. losing 0.25% performance, but gaining amazing performance in cpu intensive games and applications.
I know its hard for you to understand, but it doesnt have to say "rad gaming xxx" on the box for it to be a gaming rig, if your not a complete fucking cuck and can do a bit of reserach then you gain much more performance.
>cpu intensive games
You had to change the rules to stay relevant, becuase you know that servers aren't gaming PCs.
Nobody other than your collection of friends (who I assume you also d&d with, and watch anime with) give a shit about the clock speed of a PC.
The rest of the PC master race is laughing at you for a reason.
nice font, faggot. would you like whip cream on your latte? it would go well with your no-frills anarchist badassery, I assure you
i'm not a faggot who goes to LANs, i'm 27. its tough to argue with a kid who only knows about gaming orientated products.
I use my rig for gaming on virtual machines running on my laptop, at ehs ame time, everyone in my house can access virtual machines on the server to do other stuff, I also have shit automatically backing up from all the laptops in my house to the server which is running 4 SSds in raid 10 and a mechanical 2tb drive.
Only you are laughing, because your a dumbass, my motherboard and cpu combo cost me about 600 pounds and is running 2 e5 1660, which is a pretty hardcore CPU in its own right, but i'm running 2 of them. I have access to 24 threads at 3.9ghz each, so yeah, keep laughing, because my rig would fucking shit all over yours, and its waaay more versatile.
in a way your right, servers arent gaming PCs, but as long as the motherboard has at least 1 pci x16 3.0 slot your laughing, so long as it has that and you can get a decent graphics card on it, then it can be a perfectly respectable gaming PC with tons of extra threads and memory, for running VMs.
I got my setup for the extra extravagence really, I like the idea of having all that extra horsepower for no real reason, shit I cant max out the CPUs even running shit loads of VMs at once, I can with the GPU though, as I'm only running a gtx 970, until ive got money for a 1080 anyway.
your obviously a fucking dumbass, since you already claimed the CPU doesnt matter, for the same price you get so much more CPU power. and so much more ram.
Trust me, my PC is good at everything. it just doesnt have flashing bullshit leds all over it and "gaming mega awesome" logos stuck to every single component.
I guarantee you that my rig has shit tons more ram that yours, ridiculously faster storage and ridiculously more cpu power. thats all there is to say. keep being a cuck and beleiving that consumer grade gaming targeted products are the best for gaming.
The bottom line is it doesnt matter if one is a xeon and one is a i7, the architecture is pretty much the same, I cant overclock, but why would I even need to? ram is about the same speed, only i have 64gb of it and you probably have 16 at most. 1 get over 1gb/s read/write speeds with my raid setup, with redundancy.
Ive got the same gpu performance as any other 970.
You seriously know shit all about computer hardware. my rig would take yours outside and shit down its throat, for the same price as yours. so LOL faggot, go away to your faggot lan parties with your gay generic rig.
and for the record, an extra few ssds, an extra cpu, extra ram sticks and an extra water block dont weigh that much more that any other rig.
Unless your a faggot weedy beta cuck who actually cares about weight.
Difference between i7 & i5 so minimal its a waste.
plus as ones like the i5-4460 have great mulithread they actually outdo some of the i7s
12yo newfag confirmed
I can vouch for this, not even just in gaming, i upgraded my laptop to a 4700mq and was seriously underwhelmed by the performance increase, in fact, i'd swear my i5 was faster.
"just ok" like I said the difference is so small why bother until theres a i7 out that really does outperform the rest. I mean the new i7 6700k if you compare specs with the 4790...not much.
Id rather spend the money on a bigger ssd or a gpu upgrade which would be more noticable
Ah man the best thing about pc gaming is the amount of time it could take to even play a game after it's installed, after you configured the graphics, and after you made sure it's running well without crashing. Pc gaming is fucking autistic...
