Every generation has its good and bad. My generation, far and away, has to be the most narcissistic, capitalist, fame-hungry bunch of socially awkward fuckwits ever to grace the Earth. I mean, the 70s and 80s may have been gauche and tacky, but they never fucking thought that fetishising something like My Little Pony was acceptable. Boomers also had a view of ambition that encompassed more than "get rich and famous at any self-degrading, dignity-shitting cost".
That being said, we came of age in the worst economic crisis since the 20s, we are in the midst of a massive educational paradigm shift (of which we are bearing all the bad things and reaping none of the good i.e. graduating from institutions that still run on a 50 year old model into a world which doesn't value any of that) and the cold, hard fact is that we will be worse off financially than our parents for things they largely had a part in causing (rampant globalisation, off-shoring of jobs, property and capital hording) while they bask in retirement with all their wealth and live off social security.
tl;dr - we are the most annoying cunts ever but we did inherit a shittier world than boomers.
