The other day, I was visiting my very southern family. My dad served corn beef with sides of corn, lima beans (both drenched in butter), and biscuits. I said "there isn't one vegetable at this meal!" (half joking with them, since they pick on me for being a "healthy eater"). My dad responded, "of course there are, beans and corn! Corn is my favorite vegetable." I just facepalmed hard and kept my mouth shut.
