The Marines is strictly an infantry with very few MOS's, while the Army has a myriad of MOS ranging from infantry to computers. Marines rely on the Navy for most intelligence and other shit.

I should qualify my statement, the Marines focus more on coming from the Water, and water excursions. But, of course receive general infantry training.
Most Army training has little water training minus jumping from a 12 foot diving board into a pool and swimming 25 to 50 meters without getting your weapon submerged while in full body armor and ruck.
