Mine has only jammed once, i've put 1200 round through it. I get it really really hot and it still doesnt jam.
Only early variants (like mine) have that floating firing pin that causes slam fire (unless you put it in backwards, in which case slamfire) Even with this defect the only consequence is that you have to hold it tight when you test fire it for the first time.

For rifles, 30-06 or 30-30. They're both fun to shoot as well as practical, good hunting rifles. I also own some sort of Saiga semi-auto 7.62x39, which is fun just to blast off at trees/targets in my back yard. I forgot what it was actually called, but I don't really use it for anything other than recreational shooting.
For pistols, I absolutely love my S&W .45 ACP. My Remington .44 mag is pretty sweet too, and I have a .22 that takes both mag and regular cylinders.
Honestly, I own more guns than I'd ever really know what to do with. Countless shotguns, a bunch of .223/5.56, two .50 Cal black powder rifles. I use and clean them all fairly regularly, but the aforementioned are the ones I actually use the most.

My buddy owns two different modeled SKS. No idea where either are from, but they're not bad for recreational shooting. One is slightly more accurate than the other, it also looks a few years newer.
He absolutely loves old rifles, has a whole collection of them actually. I have no idea what most of them are, but probably 50% of them are in non-working order. I bought a mosin nangant a while back for $200 just for the hell of it, and as soon as he saw it he immediately offered $400 for it. It was a pretty shit rifle, so I took the offer without even thinking about it. Turned around and used it towards a nice .308

Never owned a 9mm myself, but my buddy has a Walther and some sort of 9mm semi-auto rifle, and they jam up all of the time for absolutely no reason.
The rifle is the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen, he traded a quarter of weed for it and it jams up 90% of the time and the spot you put the magazine in separates unless you hold it by it. I can't even tell you how many times I've been shooting that thing and I loosen my grip on the mag for .05 seconds and it slides right on out. Seems pretty fucking dangerous, tbh

the old blue prints (which i had a copy of but lost) have really weird tolerances, and if you don't pay real close attention, you can get a real dud. the thing is riddled with stacking tolerances.

Personally, I'd never buy a Glock product, especially in 9mm. I have a Remington .44 mag and S&W .45 ACP and neither have ever failed or jammed on me, so I'll stick to what I know.
