Whats your weight /b/? I just started losing weight and I want some advice. /b/ is probably the worst place but fuck it....
This probably isn't great advice since its super short-term focused, but the best way to see results in weight loss is to focus on dieting only. Although working out in general builds a super healthy routine and can open doors later on for whatever bodytype you wanna go for, if ur fat now, you should definitely be focusing on eating less. Like a lot less. I'm talking 1000-1200 calories a day. I'd only recommend this if you think you're mature enough to not binge yourself all the way back when you do reach your goal weight. In general, something I see a lot of fatties do is go to the gym and honestly have a pretty acceptable work out. BUT ITS LITERALLY NOTHING compared to what they're already eating and what they think they're allowed to eat because they "worked out". Generally, the calories you burn by being alive are a lot easier to utilize in cutting by eating less than working out. Most people will say work out as well, cuz its generally great for you and a good thing to incorporate into your life. But if all you care about is shedding the pounds, eat less. Being hungry is normal, if you want to lose weight fast enough to stay motivated that is. If you're not a man-child, you can work out and go for smaller deficits. Although the loss might be slower, it'll probably last longer if not indefinetly. Plus if you ever do want to lift seriously, you're already ok with having to go out of your way to work out.
290. Also trying to lose weight. Help pls.
I started counting calories about a month ago. Maybe a bit more. A friend said "I've lost weight like crazy", but I'm still pretty damn fat. However, I feel like I'm no longer losing. Anyone got any tips? Also, should I count macros too?
183cm 80kg 20yrs old U mirin brah?
Just cut out sugar, excessive carbs, fried food, and make at least 90% of your liquid intake water (and make sure you're you drink your recommended daily amount) and NEVER soft drinks. This with any amount of physical activity will net results in a matter of a couple of weeks.
i'm literally this but i'm 22.
check out that fucking fat neck, eh?
6'2 and 295, was 320 a while back and got down to 260 but I've fallen in a bit if a depression and ive gained a good bit back, don't look like a blob tho from playing sports and shit in highschool. Just a dense fat motherfucker. Fixing to start working out when I get my paycheck. Working on my diet right now... No money to buy any food so there's that :/
Dude its all about calories. You have something like 2600-2700 calories day to maintain current weight. So to lose something like 2 pounds a week, which is pretty fast tbh. You'd only need to cut to something like 1700 cals. a day. Does that seem doable to you? Macros are really overrated at you weight. At 290 all that really matters are cals in, cals out. I would recommend avoiding carbs and sugars, but if that means more calories in general (probably wont) I'd say stick to eating whatever the fuck you want so long as its under 1700 a day.
Best advice I've learnt is understand why you are eating so much to make you fat. I lost 20kg by replacing the time I spent eating (outside of meal times) into doing something productive. I was bored, so I ate
is 111kg alot for a guy who is 199cm? I am a bit overweight but not obese, and most of it is on my stomach not anywhere else, anyone got any good methods for belly fat?
Well, if you're ok with the amount you're losing weekly, then thats great. Personally, the people I've helped lose weight always seem to want to go a bit faster, which is probably ok to do at your age.
It's hard I know. But honestly no need to rush it. You have time to lose the weight, and you'll honestly feel like a new person once you do. No need to push a bit harder, as long as your not plateauing.
there are a lots of approaches, but for me two things showed most results.
First find out what time of "digestion" you have. Either you are the meat type, which means you should eat protein, meat in combination with fat, but no carbohydrates.
or type carbohydrates, where you try to avoid the combination with animal protein.
Step two is to get active. Not too much, but keep a pace. Do something you can enjoy, be it riding a bike, playing badminton or whatever. Stay with it. It`s easy once the success starts
I just had a calorie deficit. Didn't count, I just stopped eating fried stuff and began eating real meat (steaks etc), baked fries etc. Also for muscle retention I use protein shakes (for breakfast). And I stopped snacking :P
I also work out with my dad...
I was losing 11 pounds a month.
Eating healthier but still having oversized portions and drinking 12 beers, a bottle of wine and 4 or 5 Gins every second or third Saturday.
It was because I was doing 45 minutes + of intense cardio 5 days a week.
Honestly, I'd say 100 is a lot, even for your height. Ofc I don't know what your build is and how much lean mass you have going on, but I'd still say 100 kg is a bit high. You'd be surprised how low your base weight (12-15 percent bodyfat) is. I'd get that checked out at a clinic. Some trainers can also help you with that too.
How much do you think cutting my soda consumption will help? I stopped drinking regular coca cola and changed to pepsi max (drink about 1 liter a day). Yes I know it's stereotypical fat american to change from regular to diet soda, but I'm addicted to it so it's quite hard to stop. I might stop though if I'm motivated knowing I will actually lose some noticable weight from stopping.
Ive always felt really fucking insecure about my body... Just a couple of months ago i wouldnt remove my shirt even if my life depended on it :P
Then a gf happened, which gave me some motivation... You know... After hours of netflix, chill might come around eventually ;)
The only thing i did before i started to see results were to not eat more than i need to, i have a really bad habit of eating way more than i need to, id always eat until i felt like i was dying afterwards. The other thing that i did was started to lift, not a bunch, im a pretty skinny guy. But i started small and just take myself all out 3 times a week.
Wow, i sound like a fucking commercial-dude. Sorry about that, but what im trying to tell you is that just small changes can make for pretty solid results.
would you guys say airsoft is a good way to exercise? I just started playing weekly with my buddies in the woods. It's actually pretty exhausting, i guess thats good right?
those fake sugar drinks make it worse. They will trick your mind in thinking sweet drinks are healthy and you will feel the need for sugar much stronger. also giing you cancer ... real cancer, not like the /b/ cancer u sometimes get
learn to love dark chocolate, more than 80%
it's the sugar in chocolate that is bad
there is also chocolates sweetened with stevia
you can practically eat as much as you want of that stuff
also cook yourself, lots of fresh food, lots of veggies, not so much fruit (they are sugar too), and cut the carbon: no pasta, no pizza, no potatoes...
you can make like 1 day a week where you make yourself a special meal
the most important thing is that you have to make your changes in your diet PERMANENT
if you lose weight fast, the fat cells will just shrink and as soon as you eat excess calories, they will fill up again like a balloon.
then you have more weight than before.
180cm ~65kg btw
Soft drinks have a shit ton of carbs, so it might change quite a bit. I didn't stop drinking softdrinks, but only took diet variants, but also quite a but if water. But I'm trying to also go down in diet coke consumption to limit my love of sweet shit...
I've started cutting out sodas and only drinking water with "flavor enhancers" even though I know the sweetners are kinda bad for you. I've also started cutting down my salt intake too.
I stopped drinking all carbonated drinks a LONG time ago, and now whenever I do drink some, it feels like I'm drinking acid. ZOZ
I'm not sure how long it took to get to that, but I went about 1 year without any. That's when I tried it again, and acid'd me. So even if I wanted to drink soda again, I can't. Too nasty.
93 kg (208 lbs)
I'm trying to lose weight again and my target is 160 lbs. I have done quite some research about weightloss. If you're interested, I can share legit videos with you and share TL;DR tips.
The thing is a killer workout of 1-1.5 timespan will max out at 500 cals burnt. So assuming you didnt even eat more, which you did, you'd have burnt about 15000 calories month, which is only 4 pounds. Say these estimates are off by 100 PERCENT ERROR, you'd still be losing less than 11 pounds. The affect of working out on metabolism and the general public's understanding of metabolism as a whole is very, very inaccurate. This also assumes a 7 day workout week.
27 yo 135kg 187cm have a tummy but am fit and strong for someone my size
gf is 24yo 140kg 165cm has a tummy and ass, and weak as fuck
we have been dating 4 years now and we added roughly 10kg each since we started dating, gotta do something about it, ive managed to slow down the weight gain, this last half a year i didnt gain any, but didnt loose any either, her story is different
It's actually quite a bit. Thats something like 450 calories day gone. In like 8 days, assuming you don't eat more than you usually do, that's like a pound. In a year, if u do nothing else but not drink normal coke, assuming you always did, you'd lose something like 40-50 pounds.
guise it's just energy intake and expenditure. Just work this shit out:
and then only eat as much as you're supposed to in order to lose weight.
I struggle to eat enough to maintain my weight, so I can't imagine you'd have to starve yourselves to lose a whole bunch of it.
take the broth, boil it and put it in the mayo jar. then peel the sweet potatoes, and put them in there. make a mash out of it. put the mash in a heated pan, and crack two eggs in there. leave it to cool, boil the meat you have in milk, and add the mash in the soup. i've tried it and it worked out perfecty. highly recommended.
Sorry I use the inferior system.
I'm 18 and I weigh 87 pounds, I'm not short or anything, I'm 6.4 feet.
You can convert that shit on google if need be.
Anyways what i do is just only eat if I'm starving then only drink water, the more you only eat when you're starving and I mean starving the longer you can go without food.
I was abused a shit ton and never really got to eat very often anyways so maybe it's just me or something.
>180 and 250 lbs, 18,
> knees and ankles are starting to take a beating from running and shit.
there's no way you've run long enough for that to be a problem, people run marathons way older than you.
you're either running in a retarded way or don't have proper shoes for it.
TL;DR tips, as requested:
1. Read the sticky in /fit/
2. Learn your required calories for your heght. There are many apps/websites to help you with this. I personally use the MyFitnessPal App on Android.
3. Learn to estimate portions (ounce, tsp, etc)
4. Learn to estimate calories of food
5. Learn to be mindful of your calories. You can use the said app for auditing what you eat.
6. Do not crash diet. It stresses the organs. Observe a maximum weightloss rate of 2 lbs per week.
7. If you are lazy to count calories, just fast 2 days every week. You can eat whatever the fuck you want during non-fast days if you do this.
8. Maximum weightloss happens during times of fasting. For a normal person, that is during sleep. Practice good sleeping habits and maximize the time between dinner and before breakfast.
9. During fasting, your body will breakdown fat and muscle. We want the fats only to be gone. To preserve muscle, consider drinking cassein protein powder during fasting times.
If still interested, I can give you the links I was talking about.
I actually have no idea.
I'm too disabled to work though becaue my spine is screwed from beatings.
Tried killing myself a few times but I can't for some reason, probably just a pussy.
I always back out last second.
I got chickens and they just pile up even after using at least 2 a day.
I wouldn't be eating them after 'a few weeks' of being in the fridge either, if they float in water they're shit.
How does this look?
Also I'm 290lbs and 6'2.
How does this look for what? Dieting? It's fine if you're gonna do the high protein, low carb thing, but in your normal routine you just need a fuck ton of fruits, vegetables, and fiber. Don't build your food around the meat. Also, as a general rule, keep straigh 80% of the time, and cheat a bit every 20%. That'll keep cravings down.
Your inspiration will last a week, if that.
do it for yourself.
remember the fail point you had and then next time you run try pass it, even by 3 feet.
repeat it every day beating your fail points, eventually you'll be a mile from where you once stopped and you can be proud of achievement.
p.s don't run for weightloss i.e checking scales constantly, run for your performance, you'll see results and the results will keep you going, weightloss results vary but performance is consistently increasing.
diet is #1 anyway.
perfect, get a pan searing hot w/ oil still the oil starts smoking, slap the steak on it and turn it every minute, do it until it's cooked med rare
I am eating about 1600 calories a day.... That should be sufficient to lose weight. So doing that and exercising is like a bonus isnt it? Am i not seeing this correctly? OP here
Fuck me man. I can't handle these feels right now. I really do hope god exists sometimes, so people like you can have some happiness at one point or another. Really do hope you find happiness anon/
Yeah, I agree on the not checking scales thing. Weight is affected by water intake as well, so if you check every day, essentially all you're checking is how much water you've gained or lost in the last twenty four hour period. I check about every three plus weeks.
Should I add this or do y'all think it'd be too high in sodium?
i look similar to this...
i started exercise yesterday and i plan to get skinny so i can become a trap...
i used to be skinny but i gained a lot of weight in the past year (30kg, im now 100kg)
That's true, but you can burn it a lot easier than say sugar from soda. An apple as a snack isn't bad and just eating vegetables might not get you all the natural sugar you need to get through the day, especially if you have problems with tiring easily.
fuck all that shit, it's the sugar content in that, that's what will get you.
sodium intake isn't a big deal, a lot of broscience around that, obviously don't want to eat a lb of sodium, but be concerned about sugar more.
once a week is alright just to check in yourself and adjust diet etc, if you go up in weight on a particular week, recheck your diet and think of any snacking you did, but don't get hung up about the scales, you're focusing on a lifestyle change here, not temporary weight loss.
You need to diet and exercise TOGETHER. One CAN work without the other, but it probably won't and not quick. In your exercise include nth cardio and muscle training, both reduce body fat.
Oh no that's good. I thought you did nothing but exercise. My point is to focus more on eating habits, and dont get to stuck up on working out, although it can get pretty fun.
If you really want to eat that stuff, look for an alternative with less sodium. It's probably fine every once in a while but I wouldn't eat it every single day. Maybe do it on the weekends.
I have a handy app my dietician reccomended me. It's a Dutch app called Eetmeter, basicly you enter your food intake during the day and it counts calories and provides with information about fe the amount of salt your eating. It also shows if its to much or to low
Just what I remember about salt fears being horse shit.
too little ain't good for you that's for sure.
Also, for those of you who are cutting back on calories, watch what the calories are coming from and DO NOT consume less than about 600-800. If you do, your body thinks you are starving and will not let you burn fat.
>I didnt even know there is a /fit/ board
Are you so fat and lazy that you dont even explore the internet, or even 4chan? KEK, stay fat and American OP.
Sorry was worying the thread might 404 so I didnt post the other links. But I strongly recommend that you watch these. These are very good documentaries.

Learned a lot from it. I suggest you lurk a lot before posting stuff there. Tards on /fit/ have high testosterone and will eat you alive for being a non-sticky-reading noob.
Deutsch ? Okay, well since you're not a fat useless American, I'll let you in on how I stay a skinny Canadian. Eat healthy (I'm not a vegan, I just eat REAL food) and exercise. It's literally that easy nigga.
Appreciate the advice, I do always have trouble staying on track. I was 280 at one point and I was able to jog 3/4 mile.. I definitely see what your saying with the focus on performance l. When I was at my lightest I was unaware of my wieght.
Mtn dew kickstarts are pretty good btw. Whenever I yawn I crack one open. Been trying to stay energized lately.
Me too, but I still know what the other boards are. /x/ is funny sometimes. /fit/ is for faggots and /pol/ is for Nazi Jews.
< 8 > Today I will be leaking these 3 videos which I think /b/ will enjoy/ https://www.dropbox.com/s/jr0nqjh4pz5ezs2/4CHANWIN.zip?dl=1 Few minutes and it will be removed :)
> 25 yrs - 1314872 mcdonald meal eating times
> ~60 kg - 132 pound
> 172 cm - 5'8''
Well, it's more of a long term thing, so don't feel discouraged if you don't lose 25lbs the first week. Just stay focused on eating REAL food, and avoid the sugary, pre made shit packed with fillers and sucrose. Eating lots of fish and salad will work good too. Obviously it will be bland and boring at first, but you have to condition your self to like that food, even if it doesn't taste as good as fast food, or pre made boxed shit. Godspeed OP.
Yeah man, stay busy while the sun is up, save booze for the weekend, and pay attention to what your eating. Different food will effect your mood, find a balance. Don't starve yourself, it'll catch up, always.
My metabolism is pretty godly, but yo chill, OP will be fine he's not American.
It'll take you a week to adjust and you'll feel like shit but once you adjust you're going to feel great and as long as you're eating less than your maintenance calories for the day you'll lose weight.
If you want to make it even easier do intermittent fasting and give yourself a 5 hour window to eat every day. It's pretty fucking hard to eat more than 2000 calories in one sitting if you're not eating carbs and sugar.
Drink lots of water, eat 15g of carbs or less.
Once you adjust you'll never be hungry, have shit tons of energy, and sleep like a real human being again.
counting calories for near 6 weeks and I've lost 18 lbs, started at 262, only 5'8" manlet. I'm not asking for advice or even reading the thread I just came here to brag and say that I don't plan on stopping until I'm around 180. I will give you this though, if you want motivation, find or start a fat hate/landwhale thread. Great motivation.
Artificial sweeteners are bad because
1. Some literature still suspect them of being carcinogens (mixed conclusions ATM)
2. Although aren't sugar, they still spike your insulin-- wherein high insulin prohibits fat burn and promotes fat storage.
if you're talking about anything the cancer society at the UN says, ignore those.
if you're talking about California and it's bullshit cancer causing assessments, ignore those too.
>75 kg, 185 cm, lean muscle master race reporting in
How I did it:
>Moved away from Amerifat 5 years ago and stopped eating fake food
>Pushups, Pullups, Squats, and core-work every day. 15 minutes a day.
>Run 3x a week.
>Surf 1x a week
That's literally it. inb4 manlet, inb4 jelly americans. I was over 200 lbs in college. Now I'm healthy as fuck and bang hot European women
None of them has been peoven to be harmful yet. The only studies that show increased risks of cancers are on rats in stupidly high doses youd never get in real life
Not every comment
lso I've been eating oatmeal everyday for breakfast, shit tastes great, comes in a retarded amount of flavors, is low calories, fills you up, helps you shit, oatmeal is an all around godly food and everybody should eat it every day
"On the anecdotal evidence, it has been concluded that based on analysis of the database of case histories, there are a number of symptoms that are recurrently reported by individuals who believe that they are caused by sugar substitute ingestion. The information gathered in this analysis can be useful in guiding the design and format of any investigative study that may be undertaken to determine individual sensitivity to sugar substitutes."
anecdotal, this wasn't a controlled study.
1. BMI (rough estimate)
2. Online calculators using your body dimensions (semi-simple)
3. Online pictures (simple)
4. pinch calipers (you need somebody trained to do this)
5. electric current to check the resistance of your body (you need to go to a facility)
6. submersion (most accurate, but most expensive)
The only reason I've ever wanted bread or sugar is because I get a dopamine reward for eating it because my monkey brain thinks I just hacked the system by getting so many calories in such a small package.
Most carbs taste like shit unless you smother them in salt, fat, or flavor anyway.
Enjoy eating 12 french fries, child size portion of some syrupy shitty chinese food and twinkie because you've given yourself a carb allowance.
I'll enjoy not getting diabetes.
5'11" 165. 7-10% fat (can't quite remember exact percentage.)
I recommend going to /fit/, and dedicating a portion every day of the week to excercise, and one time during the weekend to plan out meals.
Safety is proven, just look to the right hand side, more studies attesting to its safety than non.
most studies that say anything negative have been done in utero, or in vitro aka outside the human body.
Anecdotal evidence also says Homeopathy works
>You fat fuck will never be able to win with your hitbox
But still there are many studies that say otherwise so artificial sweeteners are still not cleared of its suspected carcinogenicity.
>in utero, or in vitro
Many medical trials are done in this manner for ethical reasons
>Anecdotal evidence also says Homeopathy works
early phases of discoveries like global warming start out with many anecdotal evidence
I need better evidence to draw a conclusion on it being carcinogenic, even then, to what degree?
people are dropping dead left and right from it, I don't use it but I wouldn't be upset to put it in my coffee if it was all I had
>coffee also a carcinogen
Worst diet in history but it works. 1: buy some cheap vodka and some crystal light. Drink it instead of meals. You'll see the weight drop fast... or until your liver gives out. I've done it and it works.
Lol dopamine rewards. Look everything pleasurable you do is gonna release dopamine. Not an argument.
Food re education is a gradual step. Not many people are willing to completely change habits the next morning, dose control for those people is crucial.
Besides you can eat a treat every day and not worry about guilt or whatever if yoyre in energy balance.
