hotel, ilr, and human ecology are completely retarded, and guaranteed ilr transfers are some of the most retarded people i have ever met
engineering school is top notch, but some of the other schools which are more diversified are a mixed bag
the arts school which is prestigious has a ton of really easy majors (history, econ, and pol sci are like a total of 10 really easy courses) and a ton of more difficult majors (chemistry, physics, bio)
for ag school, people often think it is retarded because of the acceptance rate and retarded ag (and some other) majors, but you actually apply to the major not the school, so reporting and people's understanding is a bit off. ag school has the prestigious aem business program which is among the most difficult majors to get in at cornell, and ag also has many majors which are literally the same as across engineering or cas. i was a bioeng cals major and took literally 100% the same classes as other bioeng majors and had the same acceptance rate, but i got to pay a lot less (not that it really matters with the aid)
in short, cornell is kind of a cluster fuck and in many cases deserves getting shit on, but not in other cases. the most recent president was hoping to get rid of a lot of this bullshit, but she died of colon cancer less than a year after her inauguration

It just hurts when the way it works at your school is that students rat race each other to take as many AP's as they can to inflate their gpa. Many took shit loads of classes at a local university over the summer. Many sneaked their way into AP classes as freshmen or sophomores that they technically weren't allowed to be taking.
Instead of focusing on that bullshit like I should've, I focused on math contests, history bowl, etc. and literally would destroy many of the students who got into the ivies in the various contests we participated together in.
Some other clubs would bar other students from entering- they had a system where you "applied" to them, but instead of giving out a fair non biased test to see who was best for it, they told you to send a slip with your name and teacher recs. Everyone would get the exact same recs, the only difference was who knew who in the club already. The whole clique of the toxic gpa racers knew each other and let each other in.

Uh, I just started college 2 semester ago. It's community college, but I'm a student ambassador for the school, and I've been accepted to attend a study abroad program called CEPA-Europe. (Customized Educational Programs Abroad) after I graduate, I'll get my bachelors in Switzerland through the program. It's a study/work program that wil lallow me to get my bachelor degree in 1 year. When i come back, I'm thinking of specializing in Human Resources. My goal is to get a kush ass job as a Human Resources manager on a beach resort somewhere like...Cancun. Do you guys think this is a good plan? I probably won't ever make Ivy league, but My college is free. the military is paying for it.

if you want to get perfect marks, you need to be competitive. I was a top 3 student at my high school, until my final year when I just lost all motivation and decided to play league all day. Still managed to do well because im naturally intelligent, but I didn't get my first uni preference. Now in uni, I'm determined to excel to sort of prove to my parents that I haven't regressed. my marks are perfect at the moment.
