Okay, so 15 years ago, just being white would have been enough to land a job teaching English in Asia. Nowadays you often (but not always) need a college degree in English or Linguistics or Education. That's for China, Japan, or S. Korea. I know nothing of what other countries demand.
But maybe teaching was never what you had in mind. If not, then my next question is, what's your safety net? By that I mean, do you have parents that can lend you money for certificate programs? Because if so, that's a good option if you know what it is you want to do. I borrowed 5K$ from my parents and enrolled in a database management certificate program from Berkely, and used that to get a job in a barely connected field, and saved enough on the side to feel comfortable paying them back after 7 months working. Pieces of paper saying you passed something are really important, because they prove to people that you are able to study and learn and then perform tasks with a reasonable level of ability. That's all a lot of places want. They'll train you themselves in whatever it is they really want you to do (excpetion is for STEM fields, of course, there you absolutely need to know your shit at a whole other level of competence. It's almost like education for STEM or Everything Else. I had one of the Everything Else majors, but got pretty fucking lucky and am well off now. with a STEM major you don't need so much luck).
Pick a city and look online for jobs there. Make a list of companies and then research them to see if they're good or shit.

My English is quite good, I thought of doing the TOEFL thing and get a qualification that way. I'm very confident I could pull off the class A qualification (native tongue niveau), I'd just save up for the financing.
Good thing is I have a pretty minimalist living standard, I can get by living out of my backpack and camping for weeks and months on end, if weather and climate allow so (not too extreme cold, that requires more cold weather gear = less space = more bulk and weight). Plenty of companies are looking for individuals with industry certifications who are native English speakers and are willing to relocate overseas. So whatever field you're interested in, do some research into what certificates are recognized internationally, and then determine if it is within your ability to acquire one of these. Foreigners hired abroad and flown in to do some job make absurd amounts of money (absurdly large) compared to those hired within country.
