Gender has always been a mental thing and I personally have thought that it is more fluid than what people think. I will call bullshit on the whole gender fluid thing (Where people say their gender changes on how they feel)
I've always felt gender was on a spectrum. On one side you have masculinity, the other femininity. Because those are the only two sexes that exist on this world naturally that wouldn't give someone any complications. You cannot make up another biological sex.
But, here's just my take on what genders exist. Males (dominate masculinity 100%), Females (dominate femininity 100%), Agender (Neutral, you don't identify as either on the far sides of the spectrum 0/0?), Bigender (Neutral again, but instead you identify as both 50/50), and Androgynous (Where you'll be on one side of the spectrum, but not quite there... 75/25)
This is what I follow, and if there's anything else but these five, call that bullshit out.

Gender was classically determined by what "parts" you have. The new paradigm is that the mind determines your gender, and the "parts" are just an affectation. I contend the switch is purely cosmetic. Hormone therapy is required to maintain a facade, and the sexual organs simply don't exist in whole, or function fully. That means the transition has failed as it needs artificial support, and the choice does not come down to simply claiming to be one or the other.
